I received this thermometer for fathers day 2019. The wireless app and multiple probe design were some of the selling features. Out of the box, the device seems to be solidly built and feels like a quality device. Even the probes feel substantial and made to last. The unit and probes are pretty self explanatory and worked as expected. It was a nice surprise to find the unit is magnetic and will hold to the side table of the grill. This anchors the display nicely so even as you move the probes, the unit stays put. Having two probes was also a strong selling feature. The ability to track multiple pieces of varying density and thickness has been a challenge for me with a standard kitchen thermometer and often requires opening the grill more than I would like. This means loosing heat and disrupting the cooking process. With the ability to run multiple probes, this can be easily avoided and dealt with. In fact, this unit can handle up to six probes. (I only have two) I downloaded the companion app and the pairing was extremely easy and fast. One of the first things I noticed was the display was in Celsius. This was easily rectified in the settings of the app. The app is very intuitive and easy to navigate. I was quickly able to set temperature alarms and even custom temperature profiles for things I like to grill. Being able to "set it and forget it" was great. I was able to keep the grill closed and still know exactly where I was at in the process. Once I reached the final temperature, my phone let me know I was done. There is even a graph of temperature over time which allows you to see exactly the temperature progression which allows you to estimate when you'll be done. That's a nice feature when you're trying to time multiple parts of a meal so that everything is done at the same time. While the main unit seems well done, the app is really where this shines. From a range perspective I had no issues with connectivity. However, I did not exceed approximately 25 feet from the grill. Overall my initial impressions are that this device is well made and with the addition of the app, offers some really compelling features for the average griller to get more consistent, quality results. First time we used the unit we used both probes. The first probe was for a low and slow brisket, while we used the second probe when searing a porterhouse. Nailed 'em both! Initial setup and use for temperatures (and temperature ranges), times, alarms, and bluetooth connectivity were all quick and easy. Next time we used the unit inside for frying empanadas and oven baked potatoes. Great addition to cooking toolkit. Buy the first one for yourself, then more for family members that use grills, smokers, and fryers. Heck, at this price, buy for some for friends and neighbors too! ... show more

    • Best wireless BBQ Grill Thermometer I've every owned - Very Impressed!

Here in Kansas City, home of The Best BBQ, we smoke our meats low and slow. Smoking a whole turkey or beef brisket for 12 hours at a steady 220° was no easy task prior to buying the NutriChef Pro thermometer. Before: I'm having to run out of the house every 30 minutes to monitor the heat level to make sure it didn't climb too high or fall too low, it was a constant and frustrating battle of temps being either too high or too low. Likewise, with keeping an eye on the meat temperature, is it done yet or did I overcook it again?!?! The NutriChef Pro thermometer was super simple to set up and use. You set your temp ranges in the app on your phone. I put one probe in the meat and lay the other probe on the grill grate to monitor my smoker temp. When the smoker temp creeps too high, the NutriChef alerts you on the phone app with an alarm, I go out and tweak the vents a little, go back to my easy chair and watch the temp start to come down. It is a HUGE time and hassle saver. I have owned about 5 grill Thermometers, including 2 other wireless ones, and this one is BY FAR THE BEST, It does everything I need. With additional probes you can do multiple types of meat, that will cook at different rates and finish at different times, this little beauty covers it all, makes all your meat come out perfectly cooked and again SAVES A TON of time as you don't have to babysit your smoker or grill every single minute of the cook. Good product. Accurate temperature readings, and the multiple probes are great. The price point is also great. However, the Bluetooth range is a joke. In fact, I’m standing about 60’ away in my barn while writing this, with one wall between me and the unit, and it can’t connect. If I lived in a tent on a football field, I’m pretty sure it would stay connected. If you’re looking for distance and freedom of movement, I’d find something that connects via WiFi instead ... show more
