I've been very pleased with my Nutrichef Smart Thermometer. I selected this one versus several others that were similar because the value for the money was there. It supports six simultaneous probes. I also preferred the beige color versus the hideous orange color case that another similar unit has. There is a magnet that holds the base unit to a metal surface. It locks on securely and I have no worry that it will slip. The IOS/Android support has been tested on both platforms, and it worked flawlessly. The app appears to be the same one that other brands use judging by the photos they include in their Amazon catalog page. One thing I don't like; the temp alarm which goes off when you hit your programmed set point sounds like our smoke detector alarm. It's a little too aggressive. Looking for a way to modify that. It may be in there, but I haven't looked yet. Accuracy: We tested the unit against an infrared temp sensor that we were using, and it is within a couple of degrees. However, it was sometimes higher and sometimes lower, so we are hypothesizing that is because of different testing locations in the cooking area. So, I am good with that. I like the spools that come with the probes. We have some probes that came with a cheaper thermometer and the wires were a tangle in the drawer where we kept them. There are two beads on the cables that are color coded and match the colors in the app. With six probes, you need this to trace to the correct probe if you need to pull that particular item. Pretty handy if you are cooking steaks to order and they go on at different times. Finally, there is a clip that holds a probe on the side of a pot or in the grill. We used that to monitor the temp on some deep fry oil to keep it precisely at 350 degrees for perfect frying temp. Before, we had to stand near the pot of oil with an infrared temp gun testing over and over. Now we just take a seat and witch from a distance. When cooking outside in the summer, that is a lot cooler. Full disclosure: The vendor promises a gift of two free probes if you post a review. I will be taking advantage of that. However, they did not say it had to be a positive review. I value my integrity too much to accept a small thing like these probes in exchange for misleading others. One year later... Still working and I still love it. The vendor reneged on their probe offer. I sent in the email/paperwork and they said they were out of probes. Not sure the distributor is still in business. The manufacturer is still making the device. It is still working and the probe cables are still in good shape. I got what I paid for. It still works great. I had a small disappointment with a freebie. Overall, I can't complain. ... show more

Good product. Accurate temperature readings, and the multiple probes are great. The price point is also great. However, the Bluetooth range is a joke. In fact, I’m standing about 60’ away in my barn while writing this, with one wall between me and the unit, and it can’t connect. If I lived in a tent on a football field, I’m pretty sure it would stay connected. If you’re looking for distance and freedom of movement, I’d find something that connects via WiFi instead ... show more

    • Great thermometer especially for the price

I have been using this a few years and I really like it. I have left it out in the rain a few times and I had to put it in a bag of rice to dry it out each time and it has been super tough. It had also been dropped several times. I use it a lot. All the neighbors come over for steaks and we cook small steaks and big tomahawk ribeyes to perfection. I finally used and abused my original one too much and just ordered a second. I have also gifted one to my parents and a friend and I often recommend this thermometer. Hard to beat for this price. Bluetooth only, so it has distance limits, but I understand that. ... show more

I bought this for my husband to use for his smoker, he loved it. Not only is the temperature and program accurate, but he loved that it is bluetooth and notifies him on his phone when at temp, Allows you to go watch the football game without constantly checking temperature.
