Eat a lot of soup (the kind you mix from a pouch--like Alessi/Bear Creek) and wanted to try a SS pot for that. Picked this one from the reviews. Arrived well-packaged and is sturdy. Tried it out today and it's a great size for an 8-cup batch...and it cleaned p very easily. Evenly heated on a large burner from what I could tell. I heated full pot slowly (medium-then to high) per the instructions. I have a gas stovetop and did not see any discoloration on the bottom after 1 use--we'll see. That doesn't usually bother me anyway, tbh. If you're wanting to use SS cookware I'd recommend this, as others have. Note that this one (5 qt cap) will really only do 4. ... show more

Manufacturer images are misleading. I thought I was buying a 20qt pot with room to spare, but the 20qt kettle I received is etched up to 19 qt/19L with a teensy bit of space at the top. I am sure it holds 20 qt but you won't maintain a 20qt boil or even have room to stir without spilling over. Otherwise, it's a solid piece of cookware, heats evenly, retains heat well. Bought the 20qt pot for homebrewing beer (worked great for that) and will use it for other big cooking projects. I wanted a pot that could hold 20 qt comfortably and would have bought the next size up. I'm a bit inconvenienced by the inconsistency but not enough to return it. I can a couple of bushels of apples every year. I make apple sauce, apple butter, and apple pie filling. These chores are easier to do at scale. Once everything is out, you may as well get it done. I'd been using two smaller stock pots and it just wasn't convenient. This year, it was time for an upgrade. I didn't want to spend a fortune since, let's face it, most people don't require a daily-use 6 gallon stock pot. When it arrived, I was impressed by the heft for the cost. Heavier things cost more, right? Not in this case. It's nice stainless steel with a thick bottom. Recipes, like apple butter, that need to simmer for hours would burn with a thinner bottom.
