Eat a lot of soup (the kind you mix from a pouch--like Alessi/Bear Creek) and wanted to try a SS pot for that. Picked this one from the reviews. Arrived well-packaged and is sturdy. Tried it out today and it's a great size for an 8-cup batch...and it cleaned p very easily. Evenly heated on a large burner from what I could tell. I heated full pot slowly (medium-then to high) per the instructions. I have a gas stovetop and did not see any discoloration on the bottom after 1 use--we'll see. That doesn't usually bother me anyway, tbh. If you're wanting to use SS cookware I'd recommend this, as others have. Note that this one (5 qt cap) will really only do 4. ... show more

Bought this at my wife's request after she read that cooking anything with tomatoes in an aluminum pot causes the acid in the tomatos (Yes, I know I spelled each one different. This was an attempt to appease both sides) to reacts with the aluminum. As such, she needed new pots! And since she makes lots and lots of spaghetti sauce on a regular basis, we opted for the 24 quart size. We also bought the 12" stainless steel cooling racks because she will also use these for canning and similar cooking sessions. Even though the dimensions on the listing say that the diameter is 13.3" the 13" rack won't fit. I know from experience. This pot is very solid and sturdy and nothing short of an elephant sitting on it will damage it. (okay, maybe something smaller but I'm trying to be positive here.). The interior measuring marks are a nice touch, as well. We have a gas stove top (yes, I know gas is "bad" for the climate change) so I can't attest to how it heats with electric, induction, or other heat sources. It heats very evenly with our stove top. Manufacturer images are misleading. I thought I was buying a 20qt pot with room to spare, but the 20qt kettle I received is etched up to 19 qt/19L with a teensy bit of space at the top. I am sure it holds 20 qt but you won't maintain a 20qt boil or even have room to stir without spilling over. Otherwise, it's a solid piece of cookware, heats evenly, retains heat well. Bought the 20qt pot for homebrewing beer (worked great for that) and will use it for other big cooking projects. I wanted a pot that could hold 20 qt comfortably and would have bought the next size up. I'm a bit inconvenienced by the inconsistency but not enough to return it. I was able to get it through Amazon Warehouse a discount though. ... show more

Soooo...my wife wants to move up to the induction cooktop which is now in the garage awating installation of the cabinets in the renovated kitchen. While the kitchen is out of order, we have a single, induction cooktop unit and needed some pots and pans that will work on it besides the cast iron pans. Ordered this one and it works great.
