Super easy install, works perfectly
Size: NEMA 10-30
Review Image by DK DK
I bought a Tesla and wanted to use my existing dryer outlet since it was right next to garage. This literally plugs right in and it's good to go. I can charge my car and when I need to use the dryer it automatically transfers the power and when the dryer cycle is done it goes right back to charging the car. It's totally silent and barely gets warm. A+ ... show more

Seems to work great.

So far so good. Kia dealer didn’t tell us that we aren’t supposed to use the level 1 charger that the car (Kia sportage plug in hybrid) came with for regular charging. Had to find that out by reading the manual. Don’t have an extra 220 outlet for a level 2, so tried the split volt system. Works great by sharing the 30 amp dryer plug with the EV charger. The system transitions between dryer and car as described. Only 3 days in but seems great. Not cheap but so convenient if you don’t have enough household juice to add a new 220-240 plug. And way less cost than paying an electrician thousands of $$ to add another plug. Takes about 2 hours for a full charge. ... show more

Works great!

I don't have a 240v outlet on the outside of my rental property but this is perfect for me since the laundry room is right next to my driveway. It works great and saved me a lot of time and frustration with finding public charging!

Must have if on a budget
Size: NEMA 14-30
This is a must have if you want to save money without calling an electrician. I love being able to charge in my garage overnight and wake up to a full charge everyday. Highly recommend

Smart gadgets!
Size: NEMA 10-30
We use this splitter to divide the electric power in our laundry room outlet. It's easy to install, and so far, it has been working great! I highly recommend this splitter as it saves a big hassle compared to having a professional install a separate outlet.

Gets very hot

I noticed that it gets hot after about an hour. Not warm but hot. When I removed the unit the wall was also hot. It might become an issue during summer, so I added a heatsink. It’s been running for almost 2 hours and the heatsink is about 98F. Folks who live in warm areas like AZ or NV might need to keep an eye on their unit. ... show more

I needed a three-prong splitter for the 30 Amp dryer outlet in my garage. Splitvolt had the best reviews, and has the option for three-prong outlets. It was simple to hang on the wall in my garage. It works exactly as described and disables the EV outlet when the dryer is on. This model is quiet, no hum or vibration during EV charging. The cords are heavy duty and stays cool during the dryer cycle or the EV charger. I opted to purchase the three-prong split volt charging cord too. Works great, I am able to fill up my Ioniq-5 easily going from 30% to 90% overnight. ... show more

Fantastic EV charging solution
Size: NEMA 14-30
If you don't want to spend a lot of money to have an electrician install a dedicated 240v outlet to plug your EV charger into and you already use your laundry dryer outlet to charge your car, get this product. The Splitvolt Certified Splitter Switch lets me plug in both my laundry dryer and my EV charger together. The dryer takes precedence, so when it's running power to the charger gets suspended. As soon as the dryer is finished, power is diverted back to the charger. There's no risk of running both dryer and charger at the same time and tripping a breaker. For good measure, there is also a breaker built into the Splitvolt itself for protection just in case both draw power at the same time. I no longer worry about someone in my family accidentally starting the dryer when I am charging the car. Well worth my money and my peace of mind. ... show more
