Recently bought a BMW i3 and quickly wanted to upgrade the included 120V charger. Purchased the 26-Amp version with NEMA 14-30 plug as our house was pre-wired for anticipated electric car charging. It took a little under 3 hours to charge a half-depleted battery. If the battery were fully depleted, I'd imagine it would take 5-6 hours for a full charge. Using the included 120V charger would've taken nearly 12 hours, or longer, to charge from empty. The display gives useful real-time information including charging time, total electricity consumed in kwh, output power and charging voltage and current. The included accessories are a nice touch. I did install the cable hanger and holster to complete the look of our home charging station. As with other reviews, the connector is very snug when plugging it into the charging port. I don't find this a problem as I'm sure it'll loosen up over time. Pulling the connector straight out helps. I wish the rubber protector cap on the connector were detachable, as it is unnecessary when using the wall-mounted holster. The charger looks sturdy and the cable is super beefy to withstand many years of use. Great product at a great price! Update 4/4/2019: After about a month of use, the charger continues to work like a charm. Charging from a fully depleted battery takes a little under 4 hours. We keep the charger continously plugged into the electrical power outlet. Because of this, the total electricity consumed never resets and shows the cumulative total unless you unplug the charger from the wall. Curious, as the time to charge resets everytime the car is plugged in. Would be nice to have both reset so that you can see the time to charge and kwh consumed per charging session. The only way to achieve that is to simply unplug and plug back into the wall. Just a minor annoyance. Regardless, the display is definitely a nice touch compared to chargers without one.

About a month ago I got a 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV and been charging with the Level 1 charger it came with (120v), as you know Level 1 is slow (or why would you be here?). For the CX90, that's roughy 12 hours of charging to get a full charge. Which right now is about 30 miles for me. I often drive my daughter to work and when I return I have 2~5 miles left. Then when I go to get her, I never have a full charge. So I am always running out of battery on the return trip home - Boo! Since I use a gas dryer, my home's NEMA 14-30 is open for usage. I went to Lowes and bought 20ft of 10/4 300v line cord (actually it was the 600v model because they were out and the Lowe's helper gave me the 300v price - score!). Then I bought a wall mountable NEMA 14-30 receptacle and NEMA 14-30 plug for the other end to connect to the dryer's outlet. I drilled a small hole between the utility room/garage for the 10/4 line extender - a little cheesey but eh I don't care its my house ;-) Note: A electrician should always be used or at least be referred to for any electrical work. After getting everything all mounted, wired, drilled, ran: I connected up the charger and it worked like a charm! (I suppose the only other option would be smoke & fire. If that happens to you, I did mention a electrician should be referred to.) The Mazda CX-90 is showing 2 hours 10 minutes to charge a nearly empty battery on my 1st connection!! I also love all the bits that come with the charger! The little bag when you want to take it with you on the road and all the various mounting hardware. It is really nice to have all those extras at this price point. Edit: 0% Battery charging time, 2hrs 30m - nice!

We just purchased a used 2012 Mitsubishi i-miEV, our first electric vehicle. Having never owned such a car, we were nervous about selecting and installing the appropriate level-2 home charger. The Mustart Level-2 charger has worked wonderfully. It is especially helpful to have a model that works with NEMA 14-30 outlets (which are often used for washers, especially older ones), as this was the only available option in our home. EV chargers with NEMA 14-30 compatible plugs are hard to find without purchasing an extension, and that will often cost more than this affordable and effective model. We're very grateful that we made this choice.

I used this Mustart Level 2 charger as my only charger for almost two years, part of the time it charged my 2015 Nissan Leaf, and for the past 8 months, my Hyundai Ionic 5.. About 1.5 years after purchase, the unit stopped working. This unit comes with a two year guarantee. I contacted Mustart and with a reasonable amount of documentation that the unit had failed, they replaced my unit with a brand new one. Also, the long cord has made charging away from home quite easy along with the compact size. I needed to purchase an adapter so that I can use my family's dryer outlets, they have different plugs, making it easy to charge when I visit.

I bought this charger as I had recently purchased a plug-in EV. I didn't use it for a couple of months as I had to wait to get the charging outlet installed professionally. After that was finished and started using this charger, I came out to leave for work and saw my car was not charged overnight. I thought this an error made by me, so faster work I took a closer look. Turns out this charger system misfunctioned completely and was now worthless. I emailed the manufacturer and they were very quick to respond. They asked me to do some troubleshooting, then when that didn't work they asked me to show a video of the malfunction when being plugged in. They then quickly requested a replacement charger to be mailed to me directly. Within a few days, my new charger arrived and I returned the faulty system to them. I haven't had any issues with the replacement charger, and it does a great job. Really fantastic customer service and responsiveness makes this product stand out!

Great quality, fit perfectly, and charge the jeep in 3.5 hrs with only 25AMP. This one is a 4 prone dryer plug. Update it burned my plug. Don't know what happened it was returned.
