The peened finish on this bar adds to the feeling of sturdy support. We now have three of these in different rooms. We installed them at an angle so people of different heights could use the bar.

    • Securemount anchors NOT included
We were confused about all the talk about "securemount anchors make it easy to install" and such, thinking they were included and that that's part of what made these grab bars so easy to install. Nope. Not included. Make sure you buy them separately when you order the bars! It does say it (sold separately) if you scroll down and sift thru the info (we did not until after we got the bars and the anchors were not there), but it's just a bit misleading otherwise I think (hence 4 stars) as they talk a lot about it but should put "sold separately" in the diagram as well as where else they talk about them in my opinion just to make it clear. ... show more

    • Well-Designed with Texturing that Enhances Grip for Better Safety
These are fantastic grab bars. Be sure to install them with the ingenious Moen Securemount system, which allows the bars to be installed without ripping out tile or other surfaces and without the need to attach to the studs. AMAZING design. These grab bars are "peened," meaning that they have a textured surface rather than plain and smooth. It really does make a difference in your ability to get a more secure grip, especially when your hands are wet (which you expect during a shower or bath). High-quality, well-designed and certainly worth the money to add safety and security for anyone, but especially for older people or those with health issues that limit good balance or mobility. THREE-YEAR UPDATE! Now that these wonderful grab bars have been in place for three years, I thought it might be helpful to people to know how well these grab bars are working. In a word: SPECTACULARLY! They look as good as the day they were installed. They remain rock solid -- thanks to the ingenious Securemount installation system from Moen. Make sure you purchase the Securemounts for each grab bar you purchase. They are worth their weight in gold. They enabled our installer (who had never ever used this system) to install them without any problem after watching a short how-to video online. The installation was flawless, did not harm the existing tile, and was very quick and easy for the workman to install. Couldn't be more pleased. P.S. The "peening" (texturing) on the surface of the grab bar makes a significant difference in creating a safer grip. Pick the peening models. ... show more

Easy to stall w lots of attachment points to ensure you get all screws in the stud. Looks good. Feels good in your hand. The decorative rings on the end fit sort of loosely & I wish they were more secure.

I have done 2 bathrooms in my home with these bars and they are very attractive, easy to install (with basic carpentry skills); some go into studs, some have to be anchored with wall anchors. When installed, my 300#'s can't move them. They are great and my wife loves them!
