These grab bars have worked really well. I installed two in one of our showers more three months ago, and after daily showers, they are still mounted with strong suction to the shower wall. The shower where these are mounted is covered in perfectly smooth non-porous 4.25” square tiles. Before installation, I cleaned the tiles really good so they were spotless and smooth. When mounting the bars, I made sure the suction cups were 100% aligned on the tile and not on the grout seams. I then pushed with all my strength and locked the release tabs into place. We mounted one grab bar horizontal, and one diagonal. Before every shower, we pull on the bars to make sure they are still properly attached. To those looking to purchase these grab bars, be aware that, due to the diameter of the suction cups, the minimum size tile these will work on is 4.25”. Any smaller, and the suction cups will cross grout seams and will not hold properly. Also, the tile surface these are installed on has to be smooth and non-porous. Be sure to pull on the grab bars before each use to make sure they are securely attached. UPDATE: 9 months later, and the grab bars have never been removed, and they are still very securely attached to the shower tiles.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is the third grab bar I've had -- and the BEST. It's easy to install (I'm 80) and has a seriously STRONG grip. I used rubbing alcohol to clean the tile and the circular rubber part on each end. After that, I simply followed the instructions. The bar has been in place for four days and is attached just as tightly as when I first installed it. I check it daily to make sure the color indicators are still green. I also pull on the bar to test for security. BOTTOM LINE: Buy it knowing it's safe.

This is the second time I've ordered these. They come two in a box. One of the two kept failing to stay stuck on the wall so they were sent back. My friend assured me that they are a lifesaver to stop falls, so I ordered a 2nd set. This time, they stayed in place and I'm glad I tried again. They did stop me from slipping in the tub. I had no problem returning them and ordering a new set.

I bought for my uncle after his hip surgery he is very happy with them he says they help him be independent like he use to be he says they hold up great he said he no longer worries about falling with them he has been using now for a month with no issues well worth what I paid to make him happy they stable and safe the suction has held up great no issues thanks for making him happy and giving him back his independence

Although very easy to install, the handle bars would not stay attached to the wall for more than a few minutes. Sometimes just for a few seconds. Followed the installation instructions to the letter. Our shower walls are smooth and clean. The indicator would be on green (as it should) - but then you could see it sliding back into the red zone. Then the handle bars would crash to the floor. We bought this product to provide a safe and secure handle for getting in and out of the shower. It is impossible to rely that the handle bars would hold. Even when the indicator is in the green position, as soon as any force is put on the handle, then the indicator goes to red and the handle bar detaches from the wall. We tried many times, again very precisely following the instructions on how to attach the product, yet each time with the same results. Simply would not stay attached. Even without pulling on the handle bars. You can see the indicator changing from green to red, then the bar just simply falls off completely. We bought 4 bars, each bar did the same thing. Tried the product on each of our 3 bathroom showers, again each bar did the same thing. Returned the product the next day. Thank you to Amazon for making the return process fast and easy.

I packed this grab bar and took it with me on my vacation. It applied to the bath tub wall and was exactly what I required to safely get in and out of the tub. I like the green light indicator that it's securely applied to the wall. It was easy to press the lever to adhere it to the wall and to remove it at the end of my vacation. My friend liked it so much she bought two for her home guest bathroom. I would definitely buy this again.

These items are known to lose their suction. This can happen to this one, too, but the red or green indicator alerts the user whether the grab bar is safe to use.
