I have a beta fish and of course need to change the main tank's water periodically. I got this spare fishbowl to give my fish a temporary home while the water is being changed. This is even better than a temporary home; it's a nice fish starter kit. The plastic pool is fine because it prevents it from breaking if it falls, but can get a little tricky to clean over time.     • Bowl plastic is thin and can be easily deformed. Could use some more rocks but good overall.

The fish bowl is plastic, which I like because this is for a child and if it ever falls it will not break, and furthermore it won't break into sharp glass. The bowl is thinner than I expected and can be easily pressed in -- I really expected thicker sturdier plastic, with that being said it is "fine" and works just the same. The bowl offers a clear non distorted (magnified) view at the fish (beta.) The whole setup looks great and is a good value. The only thing that I wish were different I wish they included a little more rocks -- Its difficult to cover the "weight" at the bottom of the plant with the small amount included. FInal thoughts Overall I do recommend this -- Its a good starter bowl, and a good value. I like the fact that it is plastic and therefore safer for kids. ... show more

It is exactly as pictured and described, a plastic fish bowl. if your kid goes to a carnival and comes back with a fish, you need one of these. One day shipping, arrived quickly.

This is a nice round, plastic bowl good for a couple of small fishes, a betta, or a terrarium. The plastic is smooth, no blemishes and it's thick enough to be sturdy, but lightweight enough to clean easily. I like that it come with a small amount of gravel and a tiny plant. I got this to keep some guppy fry in until they're old enough to be safe, and this is a good size for that. The top of it has a smooth band around it that allowed me to clip on a small light fixture. I also put in a heater for 1/2-1 gallon tanks, and a floating bubble stone in it for the kids to play in, this is the perfect nursery for the little ones! I see this as being a great starter tank for the betta, or goldfish you won at the fair! ... show more

Our Beta is red. My daughter named him Reddy. He lives in a bowl on the kitchen island so he can be part of the family and not ne lft out. This bowl is a perfect size, not too big or to small for him or the space. And since it's plastic instead of glass we don't worry about bumps and cracks. It comes with everything he needed though we did add a live plant for him. The gravel does need to be rinsed . Everything a Reddy Beta needs. ... show more

Very nice and vibrant rocks. It is solid and sturdy. All that's missing is the fish, we are excited to go pick one up for our first fish tank.
