I’ve had it for a few months now and it’s definitely one of the better hand vacuums. It’s quiet but the suction is powerful. I like having the option to vacuum when my baby is napping. I like it’s ability to switch between the powered brush head from carpet to passive brush on hard surfaces. The build quality is stellar compared to the Dyson V6 I had. The ability for it to stand on its own may not seem all that much but it’s really convenient. Battery life is not bad since you get to choose the amount of power you want to use. The canister may be small but it’s really easy to empty. There is a feature where you can knock off the dust from the canister without using your fingers. If you have a large living space with lots of carpet, think about getting a canister or larger vacuum, but if you need something to perform a quick job this is a perfect choice. I purchased this vacuum a little over two years ago. We ave had problems with almost every aspect of this - doesn’t charge well, low suction and very smelly filter. We have followed all the troubleshooting and it still does not operate properly

We've had a Miele canister for years. Now we added the stick vacuum. Things to note: 1) We recharge it after every use instead of letting the battery get down to zero. Otherwise it won't make it through the second use. 2) We use the highest setting for wood floors and switch to the lowest setting for carpets. The vacuum automatically sense that the surface has changed, but even so, the high setting for carpets is too strong. 3) We placed the dust holder down towards the bottom. It is easier to maneuver and also stands upright in a closet. No need to hang it on a wall. 4) It takes a little practice to easily take the dust holder off, but after that--no issues. We do still use the canister vacuum to get behind furniture and other places with various attachments. All in all a quality-made product. ... show more

    • Worth the price! Works great on rugs!
Owmed this vaccum for 18 months with no issues at all. First let me say that my wife owns a small cleaning company. We also have a 3700sq foot home that gets cleaned regularly, and 3 dogs. So I've used numerous vaccums for comparison. This vaccum is the absolute best. You can tell just by how much it fills into the canister compared to other vaccumes. RUGS- I don't have any carpet but do have numerous area rugs with different pile heights. This vaccum is my goto anytime a rug getting vacuumed. It doesn't have a manual button to turn on beater bar, it does it automatically but I find the sensors to be very good when engaging and disengaging. I would say the suction on hard surfaces is second to none. It sucks up everything with just one pass and does a great job sucking up bigger things like fluff from dog toys. I find that it rarely if ever gets clogged up. The battery I would say is good but does drain rather quick on high. If you plan on doing and entire house I would recommend getting the one that says -120 minute runtime- which comes with an extra battery. The only complaint I have it that it doesn't have a light on the front of it shining down on the floor. That's only because I find the light on the front of vaccums more satisfying when you can see the fur and dirt disappear. ... show more

    • Bad quality and impossible to fix
Clean fine, but hair gets caught and breaks the vacuum. I had an HX1 that broke for this reason and decided to get the HX2, and it's now 1.5 years later and it's broken again. Vacuums shouldn't be this disposable. Do better Miele.

    • Get the canister Miele's instead....
Pros: - Maneuverability, glides and twist and turns effortlessly (way nicer than dyson) - Suction power (strong enough) - Stand on its own in certain configurations - Don't need to hold trigger to keep unit on (vs dyson) Cons - Attachments like crevice and dusting tools sometimes falls off, held on by interference fit. Weirdly those attachments never fell off my main vacuum which is the Miele C3. Annoying at times. - Size is a bit unruly in handheld mode, vacuum body end up hitting corners of your bookcase or shelves etc when dusting. (Dyson V8 is nicer for this) - Dust container (the worst part) This thing gets full quick = frequent emptying (which is not too bad but read on) Overly complex to open the dustbin when you need to dispense and you'd end up touching the dust you sucked up. Rotate a few times to loosen the dirt on the filter, rotate the ring a little bit to unlock from vacuum body and rotate more to release the door, and rotate more to release the filter holder from the bin. Push and rotate the little lid to remove the filter all together. Dust and dirt get stuck on the dust bin body and bottom of the lid on the part that attaches back to the vacuum, so i'd have to manually brush off these dust or else you track all that dust back into the house. Summary: I love their Bagged Canister Vacuum, picked this up for daily quick pick up but ended up being more of a hassle than help. Battery life is ok, but I mainly stay on min. suction and eco mode, it is going to deteriorate more as it ages. Returning the unit and just sticking to the bagged C3. ... show more

Love the vacuum however one of the reasons we chose this is because it was supposed to include a back up battery. It does not ....so false info given , otherwise would have left 5 stars
