Very Happy with the Miele HX2
We own Miele dishwashers, coffee machines, ovens canister vacuums etc. So you might call me a Miele groupie. However, for stick vacuums I had been a fan of Dyson. However after owning several Dyson over many years, with the constant bad batteries, broken sticks etc, we had enough. Last year we took a chance of this HX2 by Miele. The reviews were mixed and it was expensive. And which deterred us from trying them in the past and staying with Dyson. So we were pleasantly surprised by the quality as compared to our past brands. Battery power and suction are good. And it’s certainly not a flimsy machine. We’ve had for a year. No issues. We bought a second one for another home 6 months ago and it’s going strong with no issues.. We are now buying a 3rd one for for another floor in the house. In the long run, it’s cheaper to pay more for the quality and than to keep buying lesser quality units. Only one area that needs to be improved on this vacuum. It’s not super convenient to empty the canister. It’s made with the typical complicated German engineering to empty it. But all in all we are pleased with these units. And as mentioned, I’m buying the 3rd one today.

Love it
Arrived on time. This is replacing a Dyson V15 Detect that I got less than two years ago. The Dyson only had a two year warranty which I was bothered by to begin with when I got it. I also have a Dyson Ball vacuum - i have always had a replacement vacuum because I like to stay with my scheduled cleaning. It made me crazy when one of the vacuums had to go in for service or be sent away to be fixed and I couldn't clean. Yes, I am OCD about that kind of stuff. This one cost a little cheaper than the Dyson and was recommended by my daughter to get instead of replacing with another Dyson, which had gone up in price for the same type to almost $1,000.00. It is quieter, easy to set up; but if I had a recommendation - use your own screws to install the holder plate to the wall as the screws they give you do not have a phillips or flat head, they instead just have an open circle hold which I did not recognize. I always keep all my extra screws and also have a nice variety in a multi pocketed holder box so I had a lot of different ones to choose from that fir the anchors to be able to attach that plate. It is very easy to use, battery life is extremely good, love the color and size, all the extra tools are nice as always. It is not heavy and is extremely easy to maneuver throughout the house going under so many areas. I have heard of this brand before and thanks to my daughter and her research on Reddit.

Research this vacuum for weeks had it for two years. It is the worst Appliance in my house.
I do not know how anybody leaves a five star review for this vacuum. I researched the hell out of it and spent so much money on it and had nothing but good hopes. Today I threw this piece of junk in the trash. Honestly, I don’t even know if it’s got warranty, but I never want to clean out a hair from the brush again. I have finally moved on to Hoover stick vac and it is 1000 times better I don’t have to clean it out. It’s got his own empty and container. The battery which I’ve had to have replaced several times is not draining, it has a light so I could vacuum anytime I feel like it. I’m not here to talk about how great my new vacuum is I’m here to tell you that this vacuum is a complete and total piece of junk. Great out of the box New, but it ages horribly everything gets dirty. You’re changing filters constantly, and you are literally having to cut hair off of the brush because it’s horribly engineered.

So Far, Works Great.
Our old vacuum (Dyson V11) finally stopped working. Although this vacuum is several hundred dollars more than the latest Dyson models, we have had good luck with other Miele devices so we decided to try the HX2. A little more difficult to breakdown the pieces to configure a smaller version when needed but not too bad. My wife like the fact that the canister can be configured lower to the floor with less weight near the handle and the on/off switch does not require constant trigger pull for power. It has been two weeks now and works well.

Powerful and space saving
I had this vacuum at work and loved it so much I had to get one for myself. It is a pint sized powerhouse. I love that it is slender and takes up little space. It is great for quick tidy ups and doesn't feel like a major job. Cordless is key! The handheld capability is amazing for furniture and tops of ledges. The long stick maneuverability is great getting under tables and around furniture. It is pricey but so worth the quality!

Longtime customer will never buy another miele product
Warning, this is not the Miele that once was! I am a long-time Miele owner and will never buy a Miele product again. We bought this vacuum on Amazon at full price having loved our Miele canister vacuum purchased years ago. When it arrived, we discovered that this new vacuum was scratching our wood floors. The manual made note of a hardwood floor attachment, but there was no indication of whether it was included with the vacuum or was an optional purchase. Also, there was no mention about this attachment on Amazon. Searching the web, we found that it costs an additional $70. The fact that we paid $750 for a vacuum that is incapable of cleaning our very ordinary floors without damaging them is hard to believe. After my wife and I reread the manual numerous times to make sure that were were not missing anything, we called Miele’s customer service center. Right off the bat the representative told us they could not send us the hardwood care attachment. But we never asked for that and just wanted to speak to a supervisor to state that after being longtime Miele customers, we are returning the vacuum and are done with the company. The representative, while pleasant, told us that was not a sufficient reason to speak to a supervisor and would not transfer us to one. Also, the representative told us that the hardwood floor attachment was mentioned on its website. However, we bought it through Amazon and not that web site. We then emailed Miele, who five days later responded by telling us that our email highlighted areas for where the company could improve. That was appreciated, but what a waste of our time this purchase was. We are not willing to take a chance on Miele again. There are plenty of $300 vacuums that work great right out of the box.

Too expensive for short battery time.
This vacuum is not usable for a home unless dedicated to a very small area. An hour battery use is insufficient for a home. Think more an apartment or small condo. Well made vacuum, lightweight, pricey for just using in a small area.. Cleaning the debris container and then the inner filter is a challenge for a new user. Watch a on-line video. I will probably resell and research for a lightweight electric vacuum.

Worth the price! Works great on rugs!
Owmed this vaccum for 18 months with no issues at all. First let me say that my wife owns a small cleaning company. We also have a 3700sq foot home that gets cleaned regularly, and 3 dogs. So I've used numerous vaccums for comparison. This vaccum is the absolute best. You can tell just by how much it fills into the canister compared to other vaccumes. RUGS- I don't have any carpet but do have numerous area rugs with different pile heights. This vaccum is my goto anytime a rug getting vacuumed. It doesn't have a manual button to turn on beater bar, it does it automatically but I find the sensors to be very good when engaging and disengaging. I would say the suction on hard surfaces is second to none. It sucks up everything with just one pass and does a great job sucking up bigger things like fluff from dog toys. I find that it rarely if ever gets clogged up. The battery I would say is good but does drain rather quick on high. If you plan on doing and entire house I would recommend getting the one that says -120 minute runtime- which comes with an extra battery. The only complaint I have it that it doesn't have a light on the front of it shining down on the floor. That's only because I find the light on the front of vaccums more satisfying when you can see the fur and dirt disappear.
