  • Magic Cleaning Machine Worth Every Penny
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Lotus White
I got my new Miele four hours ago. I just spent three and half of those hours vacuuming almost every surface in our house. This thing is magic. Background: Husband and I both work long hours, we've got two Maine Coons, and we're remodeling an old house. On top of that, I struggle with both ADD and depression, so I have two speeds - either EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE or constantly sleeping - and cleaning is not always a priority. Needless to say, between cat hair and sawdust, our house is pretty gross most of the time. When I bought our Dyson Animal five years ago, it was the most expensive thing I'd ever purchased. I did a ton of research and read all the reviews. Immediately out of the box, I hated it - it has a tendency to blow dust AWAY from the nozzle - but I figured I'd give it some time and maybe I'd come around. Lately it's had zero suction despite my best attempts at cleaning it, and when my sister said she loved her Miele, I figured I'd check it out. This was not an easy purchase. This thing costs more than my current vehicle. It is worth every penny. Where my Dyson was an apathetic beast at best, the Miele came out of the box fully assembled, licked its lips, and proceeded to devour debris in corners I didn't know this house had. My couch actually changed color. (Apparently it was covered in drywall dust.) The Miele sucked sawdust out from between the joints in the wood flooring. It ate half a rug before I figured out how to adjust the height on the power rotor, and once I had the setting corrected, sucked an OLD STAIN OUT OF THE RUG. I had no idea that was possible. Cat hair disappears into its predatory maw. The last time our floors were this clean, the contractors were putting swedish finish on them. The Miele is QUIET. Our apartment days are behind us, so noise isn't so much an issue, but holy hell is this nice. This vacuum powers up like something out of Star Trek, with a gradual quiet hum. Even on its highest setting, it is quieter than our microwave. I could hear my cell phone vibrate on the coffee table while I was vacuuming the living room. Husband came in and actually asked, "Is it on?" PROS: Everything. It's quiet. It's LIGHT. I think my laptop is heavier, but despite being easy to haul up the stairs, the Miele doesn't feel fragile; after years of growling every time the Dyson's telescoping handle collapsed in on itself, the Miele feels incredibly sturdy. It cleans like a dream - with two longhair cats, there were enough dust bunnies under the couch to knit a sweater, and the Miele didn't even blink, just slurped them down like nothing. It's incredibly agile - it follows you around like an attentive dog, ready for the next task. I love the onboard tools - no more scratching your head trying to remember where you last saw the crevice attachment. The adjustable suction is amazing - I was able to vacuum the heavy-duty door mat, and then turn around, adjust the suction, and vacuum the curtains without pulling them off the wall. The range of motion on the tools is also incredible - I was able to vacuum around the couch legs and under tables without having do do any painful contortions. The air in the house SMELLS cleaner, and even after three hours of vacuuming, my throat doesn't hurt like it usually does. When it comes time to empty the bag, I can just lift it out and throw it away - I won't have to deal with dumping a canister of aerosolized drywall and cat litter into the garbage can, blowing back in my face no matter which way the wind is blowing. (That alone is worth a thousand dollars, let me tell you.) CONS: Costs about as much as your firstborn, and possibly also your leg. Overall: This is literally the most expensive thing I have ever purchased after the house itself, and oh my god it's worth it. As a remodeler, I understand the value in having the right tool for the job, and this vacuum just earned its keep. Four hours in, and I regret nothing. This is going to make cleaning SO MUCH EASIER and you can't put a price on that. UPDATE 11/26/2019 It's been four years now and I still love this vacuum. It's been a study little workhorse. Sometimes I am terrible and too lazy to get the shopvac, so I feed construction debris to the Miele. Clogged nozzle aside, it doesn't even blink. The motor runs as quietly and efficiently as the day it arrived. It has a few scuffs and battle scars, but none of the plastic pieces are broken. I regularly change the bag and the filters, and purchased a new brush attachment because because the bristles had gotten too worn on the old one, but otherwise baby is always good to go. 100/10. ... show more

  • Worth Every Penny — The Ultimate Deep Clean Vacuum
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Lotus White
I purchased the Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog as my dedicated “deep clean” vacuum, and it has completely exceeded my expectations. As a mom of three kids and two dogs, I use a cordless vacuum daily for quick messes — crumbs, dirt by the door, everyday chaos. But let's be honest - cordless vacuums don’t even come close to the power of a high-quality corded and bagged vacuum like this one. Once a week, I go through the entire house with my Miele C3 Complete Cat and Dog Vacuum, and you would not believe what it pulls up. Even after frequent vacuuming with my cordless, this machine finds embedded dirt, pet hair, and fine dust I didn’t even know was there. The suction power is on another level. One of the biggest reasons I chose this model was the bagged system with the bags and filter. I truly appreciate that dust, allergens, and pet odors are sealed in the bag instead of being blown back into the air. The house not only looks cleaner after I vacuum, but smells and feels cleaner too! The attachments are phenomenal: The Electro Plus Powerbrush is incredible on carpets and handles pet hair effortlessly. I love that I can adjust the height and suction so it’s gentle on my area rugs but powerful on wall-to-wall carpet. The Parquet Twister works beautifully on my tile, hardwood, and LVP — smooth, maneuverable, and safe for delicate floors. The included Dusting Brush is one of my most-used tools. I use it on baseboards, window sills, blinds, and all the little nooks and crannies that collect dust. The Upholstery Tool and Crevice Tool make it easy to clean furniture, stairs, and tight spaces. The Mini Turbobrush is fantastic for pet hair on furniture and carpeted stairs. The electric hose and telescopic stainless steel wand feel incredibly sturdy and well-made. Nothing about this vacuum feels flimsy — it’s solid, smooth, and clearly built to last. I also love the automatic power cord rewind — it retracts smoothly and quickly with one tap, which makes cleanup so satisfying and easy. And truly — I’ve tried them all. Nothing lasts like a Miele. The quality, power, filtration, and overall performance outdo every other vacuum I’ve owned, no question. This was an investment, but absolutely one of the best ones I’ve made for our home. If you want a real deep clean — this is it. ... show more

  • Great Vacuum!
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Lotus White
So far, very pleased with the vacuum. I researched for quite some time before making this purchase. I have the C3 Cat and Dog in Lotus White. The machine feels well made overall, some plastic areas could be made a bit more robust. The suction power of the vacuum is very strong much more so than the Shark Stratos that I was using. The SEB-228 power head works very well. If it shuts off on you while vacuuming, that means your setting is too low. Raise it one notch up and it will continue to work. We have two miniature Aussies that shed a lot. This vacuum worked very well on the rugs and removed most if not all the hair. Keep in mind that the first time you use this vacuum on a rug that you will possibly see a line of hair where your stroke ends. That is because it is cleaning deeper and pulling out all the old embedded hair. Just make a couple extra passes and it will clean it up well. The Parquet tool is great on hard surfaces. Very maneuverable to get into nook and crannies. I prefer the SEB 228 on carpeted stairs vs the mini turbo brush that comes with it. It just gets the job done quicker and more thoroughly, but is slightly awkward due to its size. However, it does a great job. The sound of this vacuum is very quiet. I’ve never owned a vacuum this quiet. Almost deceiving because the power of the vacuum is so strong. Maneuverability is easy. It’s a little more difficult on carpet but very manageable. Additionally, hair is easy to pull off the roller if it’s stuck in there. There is also a groove to fit scissors to cut off any stuck hair. Attachments are good and the bags and filters keep everything clean and smelling good. Great vacuum overall. I recommend it! ... show more

  • best vacuum hands down
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Lotus White
I've owned a lot of vacuums. I got my first one when I was 16 (20 years ago) and since then I've probably gotten a new one every 6 to 12 months. My husband thought I was kidding when I told him I go through vacuums quicker then a pair of jeans. I've owned all the top brands rainbow, kirby, hoover, dyson, fantoms, kenmore, Bissell. If they made a vacuum I owned it. I have never heard of a Miele until I was looming at roombas. I saw a review saying they liked their roomba but would rather have a miele. the one thing I did not like about some of the other vacuums where they were Bagless I've noticed through owning several types that a bagged vacuum keeps suction way better especially if you have pets and carpet. When reading reviews people either had pets and no carpet or carpet and no pets. I have carpet and 4 dogs (lab, shepherd, 2 chihuahuas) and severe allergies. a Dyson is great on hardwood floor and tile however on carpet not so much my Kenmore was amazing but it was very heavy and bulky and hard to get in those corners. I needed a vacuum that was great for pets and because I like to vacuum my kitchen I needed something that was not going to scrape my cabinets with some vacuums they are too high and you can't get under your cabinets so therefore you're scratching your vacuum and your cabinet. with this vacuum I can virtually clean my entire house and 30 minutes which normally would take me about an hour it is light very easy to maneuver and the suction is amazing. It is very quiet and doesn't even scare my pets. I usually don't do reviews but when I'm looking for vacuums the one thing I like to see is an individual that has pets and carpet because they understand what it takes to have a clean house. I also have arthritis in both of my hands so the nice Comfort grip on the Miele is perfect I've had a Bissell that the handle is very hard plastic and after about 10 minutes my hands would ache. this vacuum is a little pricey but if you're like me and you add up how much you spent on vacuums over the years this one will probably be the last vacuum you'll ever have to buy which in the end definitely makes it worth the price. I usually do not buy canister vacuums because I hate having to drag it around behind me but because its so light the canister doesn't even bother me. ... show more

  • Best vacuum. Price still unreasonable.
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Lotus White
This vacuum deserves 5 stars. Except that it costs about $1,200. It is genuinely a premium product. It is quieter than comparable models, and it leaks a little less smell. It is designed to be about as convenient as this form factor can be. But it feels like a $750 vacuum, in a world where the competitors cap out at $600. Only reason I'd recommend it: You overthink appliance purchases and the value of "not having to worry if you got the right one" is greater than the $450 more than it should cost. Which, in my case, was why I bought it. ... show more

  • Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog — Great at First, But Suction Failed
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Lotus White
I purchased the Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog because of all the glowing reviews, the reputation for long-term reliability, and the promise of powerful pet-hair cleaning. Day one, it lived up to everything—excellent suction, quiet motor, glided across carpets and hard floors like a dream. I was thrilled and figured I finally found “the one.” Unfortunately, that excitement was short-lived. Shortly after, the suction dropped dramatically. I’ve tried everything—new bags, checking hoses and seals, cleaning filters, and even taking the unit apart to ensure nothing was blocking airflow. Still no improvement. For something this expensive, I expected consistency and longevity, not mystery performance issues. It’s disappointing because so many people seem to have wonderful experiences with this model, so I genuinely wonder if I received a defective unit. I wanted to love this vacuum, and I gave it every chance, but now I’m seriously considering returning it and going back to Dyson, which has always been more reliable for me personally. I really hope Miele reaches out or offers troubleshooting beyond the basics, because I invested a lot into this and truly wanted it to work out. ... show more

  • Regret buying this
Style: Miele Complete C3 Color: Lotus White
Don’t make the same mistake I did and spend (waste) $1000 on a vacuum. I don’t understand all the glowing reviews. This thing is big, heavy and it’s just a royal pain in the you know what to lug around. I find myself vacuuming less because it’s such a hassle to get out and set up. It almost makes me miss my Dyson. The suction is good, but no better than any other vacuum I’ve used. It can’t easily be used on stairs because you have to carry the heavy base alongside, which is not fun. And I really don’t like having to replace the bags. The power attachment for rugs/carpet is extremely aggressive - it’s like a rabid Doberman on a leash. It’s also very heavy so when attached to the vacuum it’s a chore to haul up and down stairs (best to detach it first). I will say that for my particular use case (large house, all hard floors) it works pretty well when paired with the Twister XL head. With this combo I can vacuum my house much more quickly than I could with an upright. But if I were to do it all over again I’d get the cheaper version without the powered head + the Twister XL and pair it with a Shark upright for rugs. ... show more
