The hose in my back yard, described as long-lasting and non-kinking, had reached end-of-life. It was a heavy duty hose, and didn't kink nearly as easily as most, but reached the point that it was nearly hard as a rock. Sure, on a 100+ day in Phoenix, it would soften, but it was done, and I needed to find a new hose. And here was this stainless steel garden hose at Amazon. Hmmm... I wasn't sure what to expect, but I decided to give it a try. First, does it kink? Yes, but it's easier to handle the kink, The metal hose is very flexible and seems easy to use. Only time will tell whether this lasts. I was concerned when I ordered this hose. The description said it had 3/4 inch connectors, but didn't specify an inner diameter for the hose itself. Would it handle the water? My old hose was a 3/4 inch hose that gushed water. The new stainless steel hose arrived and seemed quite thin. The inner diameter is 3/8 inch. But we have good water pressure and it does seem to put out a lot of water. Not as much, but a lot. The included spray nozzle has several settings, everything from flat to spray to jet. It seems to work very well. And the landscapers would often fold/kink the old hose to stop the water flow while they moved to a new position. I don't think that will work with this hose; I hope they don't try. All, in all, I'm satisfied with this hose but it will take a year or more of use to really tell how it holds up and remains serviceable.

My 4th metal hose and how does it compare? Well for starters it is a whole lot less money and it has a lifetime guarantee. Of the four hoses I would rank this a close second place. Keep in mind the first place contender was double the price. One issue I have had with the metal hoses is output - not the case with this hose. My guess is the inner hose varies in size between hoses. In comparing to a regular hose you will see a reduced flow but it is still sufficient to get the job done. I have been using these in our barn and love it because unlike regular hoses this doesn't bounce out and drench unsuspecting critters (two and four legged variety). The nozzle is well made, has the usual settings. All the fittings are well made... I see no reason why this hose won't last years but it is sure nice the company will stand behind it's product. That alone says a lot. If you haven't tried metal, this is a good one to start with. It represents the type well and it won't break the bank. I am moving away from traditional hoses to the metal ones because they don't kink. Yes even the "kink free" hoses kink and once they do they are such a pain (I am sure you know what I mean). These don't really kink and on our farm they have been put to the test. The only damage thus far is the neighbors horse stepped on one and while bent it still works well and doesn't leak. Try it- I think you will be very happy you did!!
