I have a patio heater that I used one time for a New Year’s party about 9 years ago. I pulled it out the next year and it would not light so I put it back in my shed where it stayed until now. I looked around on the internet this week trying to find out what was needed to repair the heater and was unsuccessful until I found this seller on Amazon. I read the info on this part and ordered it. I received my Patio Heater part the next day. I installed the part and now my heater after nine years now works as it should. I bought my patio heater from Home Depot about 5 years ago. I do not use it very often but when I needed it, the pilot would not stay lit. I looked to google and YouTube and found out it was most likely the thermocouple. I removed the top shield (4 screws) and the small screen access door (2 screws). The product I received from Amazon was an exact match. It was not difficult to replace just follow the way you remove the defective part. This was a great buy and one day Prime delivery. Easy fix for patio heater.

With the help of a video on YouTube, I replaced my stuff with this kit, and sure enough, that was the problem. Patio heater is back to 100%!! Easy fix.

Not like OEM but worked with some finnagling

Worked good however if your replacing one that has a threaded probe that is held in place by a couple nuts this one doesn't have the threaded probe. i used a small rasp to make the hole just a tad bigger then slipped the probe thru and held it in place w a couple tightly wrapped wires around probe on each side of plate. Works if your handy otherwise find one that is threaded. ... show more

Fits Hampton Bay model 68164 patio heater

I bought this for The above patio heater that I bought at Home Depot about five years ago. I would push in on the pilot light, hit the igniter and it would light with no problem. As soon as I let go of the pilot the flame would go out and not stay lit. I thought that it was either the thermal couple or the tilt switch, but for $12 they come as one and as long as you have it apart you might as well change them both. When it came and I took the heater apart, it was the identical part. It was easy to install and the heater now works like a champ. ... show more
