Gets the job done. Works well with my home automation. Hard wired to a 60 amp breaker (and overload protection box) it does in about 40 minutes what took the stock level 1 charger all night. I have it setup to start charging when I go to bed (when the portable AC in my office turns off). Bought the NACS hardwire 48A. Great product. Very thick 3 foot cable for power supply. We hardwired directly into 60 amp breaker in panel through steel stud with drywall covering using a wall plate with 3/4 inch round rubber grommet. Looks very clean. Mounted in garage on concrete block so we used tapcon to mount the wall plate-the enclosed screws and anchors weren’t going to cut it. App is sufficient and easily linked to unit. Worked great right out of box. Only complaint is the screen dims when not in use but would be nice if it went 100% dark in power save mode. Once energized defaulted to 40 amp so had to hit amp button until it showed 48A. I should note customer service was great. They answered the phone quickly and knew the product well. ... show more

This item is a fully functional level 2 EV charger with a NACS (Tesla) connector that is ready to be mounted to a wall and hardwired into your electrical box. It comes complete with everything you need to get it setup and mounted. I had it fully mounted and installed in my shop within about 1 hour. The backing plate requires 5 screws and a level. Once you have it attached all you have to do is slide the charger onto it and then screw in the connector holder (3 additional screws). It was super simple to get up and running. This charger can leverage upto 48amps if you have it installed onto a 60amp breaker within your electrical panel. The charger has the ability to be configured via a mobile application and connecting it to your Home WiFi. This step is NOT required, you can just mount it, run the electrical and you are ready to go. This charger comes with 2 RFID cards which allow you to easily lock this charger down from unauthorized use if you were to mount it outside. The cable on this charger is AMAZINGLY long! I have this charger mounted right next to my garage door and the cable can stretch well over halfway down my driveway. The LED screen makes reading and understanding the charger state exceptionally simple and the charger also has a multicolor LED ring around the side of which also articulates the charger's current state that can be clearly seen from a distance; blue (standby), green (charging). I have chosen to rate this product 5-stars. Overall, this is a great product and the perfect choice if you plan on hardwiring an EV charger. The value for money is just great, it's super simple to use and the length of the cable is awesome. If you do not have the NEMA 14-50 outlet and want to hardwire directly to your electrical panel this is absolutely the EV charger I'd recommend! Criteria for Stars: 1 - Total rip off, doesn't perform basic advertised functions or not product advertised. I would likely RETURN and would NEVER recommend. 2 - Not worth the money. Performs some of the basic advertised functions, but likely not all, and ultimately was deemed as not providing enough value for the money spent. I would not buy again, and would likely not recommend unless the buyer had a very specific use case. 3 - It performs the basic functions as advertised, and has some usefulness at the price point, but doesn't work for all of the reasons I purchased. I would likely not buy again, and would only recommend if buyer understood usefulness limitations. 4 - It performs most all of the features I purchased it for, but has limitations. Getting this installed was refreshingly straightforward. I hardwired it directly to a 60A circuit, and the finished installation looks very clean. The unit came with the mounting hardware I needed, and I had everything installed in about an hour. Once powered up, mine defaulted to 40A, so I used the amp button to bring it up to 48A. That ability to run at the full 48A is one reason the hardwired setup makes sense for me. Charging has been consistent, and I haven't had any interruptions or issues getting the vehicle battery to the level I've set. The charging connector feels substantial, and although the 30-foot cable is thick, it's still flexible enough to route and coil without a fight. The app connected easily over Wi-Fi and does what I need, but I like that it isn't required. Once everything is installed and the amperage is set, I can essentially just plug in and charge. The two RFID cards are also useful if the charger is somewhere other people can access. My one small annoyance is the display. It dims when the charger isn't being used, but I wish there were an option to turn it completely dark in standby. Overall, the combination of a clean permanent installation, full 48A charging on my 60A circuit and a genuinely useful 30-foot cable makes this a very solid home charging setup. ... show more

I had an electrician install this Mach 2 hardwired charger in my garage, and the installation process was pretty straightforward. One of the main advantages of the hardwired version is that it supports the full 48A charging rate, which is not possible with plug-in versions of any charger, that is, if you are abiding by codes. We've had good luck with a previous Apex EV charger that uses a very similar interface, so I was already familiar with how this one works. The front display is clean and easy to read, showing charging status and charging time. There is also a colored charging indicator that makes it easy to confirm everything is working when the vehicle is plugged in. One feature I appreciate is the included NFC card. It allows you to lock the charger when it is not in use so other people cannot simply walk up and start charging. Ours being in a garage makes this mostly unnecessary, but for outdoor installations, this is an important feature. The onboard controls are simple to use, and most settings can also be managed through the app. The app lets me monitor charging remotely, view charging rates, adjust settings, and create charging schedules without having to walk out to the garage. It is convenient and has been reliable so far. Build quality seems solid overall. The charging connector feels substantial, and while the cable is thick, it is still flexible enough to route, coil, and handle without much trouble. The unit itself has a clean, modern look. This charger is not the cheapest option available, but it is still priced below many of the premium brands while offering a similar feature set. Between the full 48A charging capability, NFC security, app controls, and reliable operation, I think it represents a very good value for anyone looking for a hardwired EV charger. ... show more
