I used this shoulder pad in the lining of my shooting vest on a day where I shot 100 sporting clays targets with many different presentations. It protected my shoulder from the slight bruises I had experienced before, no red marks at all. I shoot light-target loads or equivalent in a 9 pound over-under, so it might not provide adequate protection from heavy field loads, but I would recommend to shoot an automatic for that.     • Fit perfect in my Browning “Pheasant’s Forever” hunting coat
This slid into the inside recoil pad pocket of my Browning hunting jacket perfectly. It appear to be of high quality and is about ¼” thick. There were no instructions with it as to which side should face out towards the gun but I assume the “flat” side should be against your body. Great price.

    • Fits Browning Ace Shooting vest
Picked this up for my daughter who competes in shotgun competitions. She uses the Browning "Ace" vest, and this pad fits into the shoulder pocket just fine. Browning wants you to use their "G2" absorber pad, but this works just as well. It's seems to be made from durable, yet flexible, soft rubber. A polymer of some sort. It should provide just a bit more impact absorption without affecting her length of pull that she's grown accustomed to shoulder mounting with.
