  • Seamlessly and effortlessly sets up and links with Lorex doorbells - wish it had more options
I already had a Lorex video doorbell which I had purchased primarily for the vid monitoring functions. At the time I didn't care much about what doorbell chime I had, so I used the included kit to wire it in with the old physical ringer. A few years on and that chime died, so it was pay $20 for a new one of those, or add another $10 for this, so I went with the latter. Because I already had the Lorex app on my phone, and an account, this couldn't have been easier to add to my network, set up and configure. I think it took less than 5 minutes to set the hotspot, add it to my Wi-Fi network, link with the doorbell, and presto! Works perfectly. I like the option of having notifications for someone detected at the front door as well as someone pressing the button, and you can set different tones for each too. Probably my only criticisms are 1.) the sound is a little distorted at the higher volume settings, due to a cheap speaker/driver being specified, and 2.) while you can choose from several different sounds for the doorbell and "person detected" notifications, it would be nice if the app allowed you to upload custom sounds. The total available to choose from is only about a dozen, and it's the same dozen for either alert, so some tailoring would be really fun and go a long way to set this chime apart. ... show more

  • Love having this for my doorbell camera
The Lorex doorbell camera has been so great combined with my Lorex security camera whole house system. I recently built a house and knew that if I wanted lifetime video storage, I need to purchase a wired camera system. Lorex is perfect for me. I have a system with six camera and one doorbell camera and not having to constantly replace/charge batteries like I did with my Ring camera/system has been so helpful. I travel for months at a time and no need to. be worried as they are always ready for viewing as long as I have electrical service at home. I do have a home backup generator, so even if power goes out, the generator kicks in and I still can view my home. The doorbell set up was easy and I can change the doorbell sounds to my liking. There are a few modes so I can have it ring/alert me when someone activated the system (by motion) and use a different sound if someone actually pushes the doorbell to ring the doorbell. Very pleased with system. I have and will continue to recommend. ... show more

  • Bad product
Works when it works but then no customer service after the warranty period only a 10% discount. Our last doorbell stopped working immediately after the warranty period and we had to purchase it again as they will not return or replace.

  • Easier than messing with hard wired chime
Ok, I have had a Lorex video doorbell for a couple years I guess. When I first bought it and wanted to hard wire to my existing chime... oh, fun, first my doorbell wires were old and brittle and short and I ended up paying an electrician to run new wires, too him and his helper about 4 hours and I don't recall how much I paid. Then there was the power regulator / supply which I had to buy new along with a new chime, again, don't remember how much I spent or how many times I climbed up and down my ladder to get things connected... fast forward and my chime stopped working for some reason. Doorbell is online and I get notifications on my phone, so maybe the chime is dead. I didn't want to mess around and figure it out so I bought this item. Impressions... the dan QR label is too small, my phone would not scan it so I could add the chime to my doorbell... I had to manually enter the device ID and again, the dang printing on the label is so small I had to take a picture and zoom in to read it and it was still hit and miss because the printing is not really clear... you ask yourself, is this a zero a nine or a six, hit and miss. The choice of ring tones, not very large, and not real good. Some static or crackling on some of the sounds and mostly, in my opinion, lame, dumb sounds as well as annoying. i settled on one though that although I don't like it, will get the job done... comment... my wife did not like the sounds, she preffere the ones from our old chime and urged me to climb the ladder and fix it... ugh! The volume of the chime is OK. I have seen people post it is loud. I guess it is all relative. I am probably going deaf from listening to loud music my apple watch always telling me sound was over 90db in my car... oh well... In the end, this chime is convenient if you can get past the setup, you can place these all over the place which is nice. We have a detached building and I think I will tr y one there, although we live in the country and don't get many people rining the bell and those who do are only wanting to sell something and I am not buying, so I ask myself why I even care about a doorbell? Nothing better to do I guess. ... show more

  • Indoor chime for Lorex doorbell
Without this chime box, you only get alerts on your phone thru the app. If every one doesn't have the app (like your kids) and you're not home, they don't know someone rang the doorbell. With this chime box, the Lorex doorbell works like a regular doorbell. Set-up was easy, after resetting it. If you're having trouble setting it up, try resetting the chime box. ... show more
