This works very well and responds at least as far as the specs suggest - maybe even a little further. The choice of ringer is kind of like what's available on a cell phone without very much loud rock. It also provides a few holiday chimes if you wanted to change your bell for Christmas or something like that. It's replacing a very old bell which had to be pressed so hard that people often thought they rang the bell when it never connected. Not so with the Avantek. I really like this doorbell. It was easy to install and it is working fine (it's still almost new). BUT. All those ring tones? Most of them are not useful in a home. We found about 6 that would not drive you crazy. So here's my suggestion. Leave in a few of the daffy ones, but truncate most of them to at most two measures of the music. You have some good classical selections but no one wants to hear 15 seconds of Chopin's Rainbow Fantasy played by a computer over and over. Better idea. Go to the middle section, popularized as "I'm always chasing rainbows" and use the first 7 notes. Period. It's a beautiful musical phrase. Same thing with Solveig's Song. I know lots about music and would advise you for free. There are tons of beautiful, short musical phrases that are in the public domain. Just off the top of my head: -The first 4 notes of Danny Boy -The first 7 notes of O Mio Babbino Caro -The first 4 or 9 notes of Greensleeves -The first 5 0r 9 notes of Chopin Étude Op.10 – No.3 in E ‘tristesse -The first 4 or 8 notes of Satie's Gymnopédie No. 1 ... show more

This wireless doorbell was easy to set up right out of the box, and the range is impressive, it works perfectly from over 1,000 feet away with no connection issues. The waterproof design gives peace of mind since the button sits outside in all kinds of weather and still works without a problem. I really like the variety of melodies (52 to choose from) and the 5 adjustable volume levels. The sound is clear, and even on the lower settings it’s loud enough to hear throughout the house. The LED flash is a thoughtful feature too, especially helpful in noisy moments when I might not hear the chime right away. I have held this doorbell for 5 years and the battery just now went out. I just replaced the battery and it’s working perfectly. I can’t say enough how nice of a doorbell this is for the money. I would buy it again 100% very good product. I also want to add what an easy installation it is.
