The door bell meets expectations as far as adequate distance transmission--steel and brick don't seen to interfere with the connectivity from the button to the unit. The only draw-back is the button comes with an adhesive pad that in heat above 100 degrees Fahrenheit falls off the mounted area.

It is a high quality doorbell that so far has been working well, and it is loud enough. The one issue is that there are so many sounds that it can take a long time to get back to the one that you want if the button to change which sound is used is accidentally pressed, which happens at least twice a day. ... show more

I have been to the Avantek web site for programming help. I bought 3 receivers and 2 buttons. I want to know if it's possible to program the system to know which button is being pressed. 1 button is on my front door and one is in the back on a basement door. I don't know which one is being pressed. On their web site I went to the "Contact" section, hoping to find a phone number to talk to a real human being. There is no phone number listed. So I went ahead and used their email form. When I clicked "Submit" nothing happened. In other words, nothing was sent to them, or at least it didn't give me a message that my support request was sent or they received it. There's nothing in my personal email box from them. So, it seems I'm stuck with not being able to contact them. This is very frustrating. It seems the products they sell are very good and relatively inexpensive, but they can't build a working web site. Also, there was a number of misspelled words on their site. If they can't spell or build a working contact form, it lessens my trust in their ability to help, but most importanly, I have less faith in their products. I know that poor spelling and technology don't necessarily go together, but it could show a corporate culture that doesn't actually care; just sell the products and to heck with support. ... show more
