The design is perfect as far as no drilling but in actual execution I learned a few things where it is disclaimed on the product description but I simply overlooked. This holds your Blink video doorbell perfectly. The catch is the setup and how thick your door is and the gap between the door and door frame. I had my doors replaced and there wasn't enough gap to fit this where the door opens. It actually fit on the side with the hinge but then came the other thing I overlooked, which is that my setup also includes a storm door. It would've been nice if this design was 3 to 6 inches longer because now the camera wouldn't clear the border of where the window sits and the camera was blocked. The other thing, if you use the motion sensor on your video doorbell, it won't work behind a storm door/window and will confuse your camera. It works great at the other house but for this house, I had to go DIY and cut it so that it's one flat piece, drilled a hole and screwed it to the outside part of the frame of the storm door. It works great otherwise. But do your homework first, read through the disclaimer of how to mount this and it should work for your needs instead of having to rework your idea of using this for your video doorbell. ... show more

    • You need SEPARATE blink module for EVERYTHING

I am the most tech savvy person I know. It took waaay too long for me to set this up just be highly disappointed. 1. I don’t like the fact that the description of this device says “two way” but you need extra equipment in order for it to function as two way. 2. You also need the module to hear the doorbell chime within your home, you need the module for live view, you need the module for everything you expected this camera to do alone. 2a. THE MODULE IS $50 alone and $69 if you order it with the doorbell together. 3. You have to have the doorbell in “armed mode” just to actually receive all motion detection alerts. If you don’t have it in armed mode, you’re not going to receive any notifications for motion
. Even if you program it to do so without it being in armed mode
 now that’s ok with me HOWEVER it tells you armed mode uses a lot of battery so, you’ll likely be changing the batteries more often than you want. Im trying this new thing in life where I am allowing ONE second chance so issued a return for the stand alone doorbell and ordered the one with module for live view and chime within my home. This updated Blink camera is as good as the old version. It has more of a fish eye view, which allows you to see to the ground & your packages. However, it is distorted a bit in my opinion. However, I still love to security features so therefore, I will hold to five stars.
