  • My piggy loves it! My piggy loves it!
Size: 37.8"L x 22.5"W x 22.0"H Style: Cage Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I purchased this cage for my guinea pig, a slightly chunky Teddy Satin. I rescued her from a breeder that didn't care for her very well, so every decision I've made about her living space has been carefully made to try and give her the best life possible now that she's out of a bad place. As far as the cage goes, I'm absolutely satisfied with my purchase. I don't think I could have found a better enclosure for her. It's incredibly sturdy, and I feel confident that she's secure inside of it. The size is fantastic. I got the large, and she has lots of room for toys and space to explore. I love that the entire top of the cage can be opened - it allows great access for me to replace her food, replenish her hay supply, and just generally perform daily cage maintanence. I also love that the base of the cage is very deep, so virtually no bedding gets kicked out - less mess for me to clean up!! Overall, the entire enclosure is a win for me. That being said, there are definitely features that came with this enclosure that I plan on replacing/have already replaced. The plastic hay bale that came with the cage latched on from the outside, which worked fine for a few days, but due to the fact that the bars of the cage are spaced out so far from each other, this causes the hay to slide out of the bale and gets all over the cage. As you can see in the photo, I replaced the hay bale with one that hangs on the inside of the enclosure. The platform posed another problem for me. Since my guinea pig was used for breeding in the past, she has a harder time getting around. The platform steps function more like a ladder, and it's too vertical of an incline for her to climb up. I also dislike how if I need to get to her for any reason and she's hiding under the platform, I have to either wait until she decides to come out or lift the entire top half of the cage off in order to remove the platform. I plan on purchasing a different platform/shelter for her that provides better access for both of us while still helping her feel as secure and comfortable as this one currently does. I've read a lot of reviews about the water bottle being leaky, but the one I received functions just fine. I think I'll eventually replace it with a glass bottle (I don't like the plastic), but it functions like your average water bottle would. My final concern I have with this enclosure is the floor. It has raised grooves that can make wiping out the bottom while cleaning a challenge. Luckily, I line my cage with unscented puppy pads to absorb the bulk of the urine, so I don't have to scrub the bottom of the cage as intensely as others might, but it could be an inconvenience to somebody else, so I figured I'd list it here. I know it seems like I have a lot of negatives listed, but I only did so because I think it's important to note some potential drawbacks. None of them were too much of an issue to me, and I expected some of them because of other reviews I had read. Overall the cage is absolutely fantastic. It's very sturdy and well-made, is the perfect size, and most importantly my pet is happy living in it! I absolutely recommend purchasing it. ... show more

  • Don't let some of the poor review turn you away. THIS IS A GREAT!!! SMALL PET HOUSE!!!
Size: 46.9"L x 22.8"W x 24.0"H Style: Cage Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
This house is FANTASTIC!!! Wish I could bold and underscore. I purchased the XL house for two young piggies. Some crappy stuff first: The company must think all humans are engineer-minded. Hello Living World! We are not. Your instruction is a huge turn off. whoever wrote it sucks. Whoever approved the directions should be fired. How about a little more help with set up. Come on, make an effort. We certainly all are. There are a good number of poor reviews. YES, I am recycling the water bottle. Not even bothering to try it. What a waste of resources though - they have made a poor quality attempt just to add an extra. We all know that a water bottle that drips is unacceptable. I use only "glass" kaytee bottles. They don't drip as long as you take care to create a vacuum properly. The shelf, I considered. The steps are too steep for at least one of our piggiess. She seems to have something going on with her hind quarters. Her hind quarters appear to be a little weak. Better not to risk. I put it in because it created a nice little hidey hole but then removed it before the piggies moved in. I avoided a future injury I am pretty sure. The directions are CRAP. Wish I could bold and underline that as well. They are not specific enough. A child could have directed the how to set up better. They are diagram only. Few words. Attention not given to details that will allow you to succeed. THERE IS A VIDEO SHOWING A YOUNG WOMAN WITH TWO LIVE BIRDS, ONE ON EACH SHOULDER. SHE OFFERS ALL OF THE TIPS AN TRICKS FOR SUCCESS. Stop whining that you can't put it together. Watch the video and do it. I found the video after trying to two hours -( I was not whining, instead persevering, knowing I would eventually figure it out.) The last wire panel did not fit. I thought it was too long, and wondered how that happene.d Finally I searched up a how to video and viola! Find and watch the video so you don't waste your time without specific instructions. Most of you will probably not succeed without it. And you will write a poor review overall stating the house is garbage. It is NOT! Have patience... The trick with setting the wire frame work up is that each of the four panels have a front and back, or an inside and outside. You can see this by inspecting the top and bottom edges of each panel. Each panel has nubbies on the top and bottom wires that fit very precisely into the black Right Angle shaped clips that hold the wire frame in place. They do not fit into the black Right Angle shaped clips unless each of the two panels are nubbie-alternating. Inside the Right Angle clips are cut outs that accept a panel on each arm but they are made to accept one panel, nubbies present and the other panel, no nubbies present. I hope you get this. When you have the product in front of you, you will. The front sliding door is crap. It does not fully slide open. There is indeed a bar obstructing the ability for it to fully slide. The bars have to be finessed with finger pinching to open fully and close fully. Good feature I guess for an escape artist. For me, it is just a nuisance. Top access is fine. I am thinking about using the front door feature and never actually closing it all the way. I will not slide it over the nuisance bar so it will always be open about one half of an inch. With piggies I only have to use a bread tie along the top of the sliding door, running the tie through the top bar too to keep it from dropping down to piggy nibble level. Even if three piggies climbed on each other's shoulders they still wouldn't be able to undo the bread tie, or nibble it before toppling over. I think that will probably be a good solution. The house is very very tall. Not necessary for piggiess. I wish it weren't so tall. Makes getting piggies in and out and probably cleaning difficult. I use fleece in the piggies' playground. Always paper bedding in their house. For the first time I am using fleece in their house. Doing this because I am hoping to minimize work. Maybe I can just lift the fleece out every other time and scrub alternating. Removing the entire top every time to empty out the paper bedding seems will require time I do not want to spend. I usually clean out my piggie houses at least once or twice a week. I am not sure how much of a nuisance this is going to be to remove the entire top and scrub out the tray. We shall see. I only bought this as a vacation house. When we are on vacation, not the piggies. I usually have a pet sitter come and bring the piggies into their grande playground to play and exercise for 2 to 3 hours a day. I was looking for a much larger house so that they did not need to be moved to the playground, because they already had room enough - THIS HOUSE IS LARGE ENOUGH FOR THAT. HUGE! I am also not thrilled that the house is arched on top. I wonder why they did that. Looks cool! but, what the arch has done is it has taken away the ability to store anything on top of it - on our flat houses I was able to store in a shallow box their foods and goodies. Now I need an extra table. Also the arched top is a pain in the ass in that it does not allow you to sing "good mooooooorning piggies!" and flop up the covers on top of the house. It just flies over it and drops the the floor behind it. Bummer for that. Now I carefully, using the corners of the house, drape the covers in such a way so it barely clings on. Most times it drops to the floor. I won't' be picking it up much longer. Good stuff: People complain about the swinging and snapping door. There is no spring. It does not snap. It stays put when you open it. It latches nicely when you close it. What are they taking about?!? The food bowl is not weighted. I think I read that. If I did, again attention to detail, crap. The top of the shelf has a food bowl shape built in to it. The red plastic food bowl sets over it. I imagine this does indeed make it difficult for a guinea pig to tip over. I can't use it though because we are not using the shelf/platform it is built into because the stairs are too steep for our piggies. The house is STURDY! Very, very well made. The house is very secure. There is NOTHING flimsy about it. NOTHING! After my experience with this company's water bottles, I was pleasantly surprised! I almost fell over. As this was purchased to minimize pet sitter work while we are away I wanted to add extra food and water stations. The house has a huge perimeter!! Almost all usable wiring. Someone complained about this too. I have no idea what they are talking about. I have two water bottle, two hay bins and a big nibbler toy attached to the inside of the house. Plenty of room to add more! Just not necessary. Who cares about the complaint of the textured floor. If you are a veteran small animal owner, you know, no matter how often you scrub it, it gets stained. You can clean it but it will still look dirty. The floor is fine. THE HOUSE IS FAAAAAABULOUS! Once you finally get it together, which without external instruction will seem like you are building Rome. That is exactly how I felt, but I sensed it was going to be worth the effort and it was. I emphatically recommend this product! ... show more

  • The best cage on the market???
Size: 46.9"L x 22.8"W x 24.0"H Style: Cage Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I was looking for a large cage since at the moment i cant have my bunny free roaming. This is the perfect size for her, allowing her to have her litterbox, toys and sleeping mat all in it without taking away much space. This is great for other pets as well but works really well for rabbits although they are supposed to be free roaming. I love it and was super easy to assemble. Easy to clean and high quality. ... show more

  • Incredibly big cage for a great price without compromising durability or workmaship Incredibly big cage for a great price without compromising durability or workmaship
I have a baby bunny that is expected to grow to be of medium/large size once she's done growing. When we got her about a week ago, the guy at the pet store told us that a cage that is two feet long and one foot wide would be plenty big enough for her, even as an adult. Much to my disdain, when I did some research I realized exactly how wrong he was. We had already bought a cage, but we decided to upgrade her immediately so we could return the previous cage. I began researching and I found that this cage was meant to be plenty big. I read the reviews which were all comforting and we made the leap to get this grand cage. I was nervous ordering from this provider because they weren't Amazon itself but it was the only way we would get the cage quickly. We ordered the cage on March 27 and it was expected to arrive between April 1 and 3. I was incredibly happy when the Fed Ex man knocked on our door and handed us the massive box that contained this beast of a cage on March 29. We ripped into the box and pulled out all the pieces, then stopped to gape at how massive the base of the cage was. It didn't take long to assemble the thing, though the instructions could have been a bit more clear. Right after assembling it, I knew that this cage would be plenty big for my bunny, even after she grows into an adult rabbit and we add a litter box to the cage. There's so much room that she'll be able to comfortably sprawl across the ground. I was worried that the entrance would be too big for my little bunny (it's pretty high off of the ground), but she jumped through the entrance just fine. The stairway to the food dish is a bit steep too, which we couldn't really fix, but she was able to jump up that too without a problem. My only complaints about the cage would be the water bottle definitely leaks a little, the platform is a bit steep if the bunny needs to use it, and the hay bin just attaches to the side of the cage - if you put hay in it and need to remove the hay bin, you have to accept the fact that hay will go everywhere. Oh yeah - bedding just got a lot more expensive too because it takes a bit to fill up the bottom, but that will get better once she's potty trained because I won't need to change the bedding as much. However, I love this cage! It's massive (so much so that my boyfriend who is 6ft 3 in and weighs 220 lbs can fit in it - see the picture), durable, made well, and a cute cage to have for my bunny. I definitely feel like I made the perfect decision when getting this cage! PS - my bunny adores her new cage too! She keeps going inside and doing mini binkies. It's evident that the extra space is much loved. ... show more

  • Great for rats to large GP sized pets, but NOT as a full time rabbit cage for adult rabbits of any variety.
Size: 46.9"L x 22.8"W x 24.0"H Style: Cage Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
This cage is fine for guinea pigs or smaller pets, but even the X-Large size is just too small for grown rabbits unless the door is pretty much left open all the time. I have a lionhead rabbit, which is one of the smaller varieties. He's a house bunny who has the run of the place pretty much 24/7, so this cage is fine for him. I mainly got it as a haven for him when he wants to get away, when I have rowdy company or need to lock him up for whatever reason, but I'd NEVER keep him in this sized cage full time. Accounting for the little hidey-hole thing, which fits him fine, he can just barely get 3 truncated hops in before hitting the other end of the cage. Assembly was pretty easy, requiring no tools. The multi-language, mostly pictures, assembly instructions are pretty clear once you identify the various parts. Watch where you put the clips that hold the walls to the cage pan or you'll be relocating them to clear the door, and don't try to install them by pushing down on the horizontal bars. You need to orient these clips so that you PULL up on them to make them snap onto the bars. This takes aobut 1/10 the effort as if you tried to push them on and you don't risk bending a bar like it looks when you try to push them on. As far as construction goes, this is pretty well built. I'm not crazy about the design of the door, but It'll hardly ever be closed on my cage, so it's a non-issue. Once the top and all the clips are on, the cage walls are quite sturdy, and the top locking mechanisms are sturdy and look to be safe from roaming paws. Short of a rabid badger chewing his way straight through the metal and plastic, I can't see anything escaping. The water bottle is pretty basic. The filling hole is so small for the diameter of the bottle that I can see cleaning it is gonna' be a pain. I put it on the cage just for yuks and, as it turns out, my rabbit prefers it to his dish, so that was my mistake. The little red bowl that comes with it is "meh" at best. It might be overturn resistant for rats or guinea pigs, but it doesn't hold up to bunny paws. The hay manger would be o.k. if you had an unfortunate bunny who was forced to live in this cage full time. But my bunny eats his hay outside his cage where his litter box is and that means I have to mount the manger inside the cage and try to have him eat his hay through the bars. I found out this morning by the presence of pills in his cage, that he would just as soon get his hay through the top of the manger while standing inside the cage. The manger should be a fully enclosed affair with a feeding hole on just one face of it and a hinged top for refilling. Then it could be mounted either inside or outside the cage to accommodate litterbox trained house bunnies, the only type that should inhabit this cage. The current design is useless for any but full time occupation and would require that a litterbox either not be used or be mounted inside the cage, cutting down the interior room even further. If you need a decent indoor cage, this is pretty much the best one of its type on Amazon, other than a similar looking cage from another manufacturer that's always out of stock everywhere in the country., but it's still too small for full time rabbit occupation. The bare minimum size for one rabbit should be 36"W X however long it takes for the rabbit to be able to make three full hops unimpeded. Taking away for the hidey-hole, this cage is about a foot too short and just barely wide enough. It would be wonderful for a couple of guinea pigs, a BABY rabbit or two, a few rats, etc., but NOT a full grown rabbit, especially one that's not a dwarf variety. I cannot imagine a full sized California or NZ rabbit being kept in this cage full time. Please don't do it. . ... show more

  • Great cage for a Guinea Pig, easy to assemble, well made
Size: 37.8"L x 22.5"W x 22.0"H Style: Cage Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Excellent cage, very easy to assemble, well made!! Plenty of room for my piggy Pros: easy to clean, entire top part (wire cage) comes off with the simple release of 6 clips, making cleaning the bottom super easy!! Access door on the side but the entire top is hinged as well so you can open that as well. Hayrack and double balled water bottle included, both mount outside the cage giving more actual living space on the inside. Food bowl included, food bowl sits inside a molded recess on the platform, this helps keep the piggy from knocking over or dragging around the food bowl. You could actually use the recess that the bowl sits into as a bowl for dry pellets and then set the actual bowl next to it and put wet food like veggies and fruit in that. The base of the cage (plastic part) is deep enough that shavings/bedding doesn't get kicked out (you do NOT have to fill the entire base with bedding!! that would just be silly, when reading the reviews for this cage prior to purchase someone thought they were supposed to fill the entire bottom with bed LOL) Cons: the only bad thing I've come across so far is that the ramp that goes up to the platform is very vertical, it's literally almost straight up and down but with these protrusions that are supposed to be steps or something? I didn't like it, and it was a simple thing to just not put it in there, no biggy. What I did do was buy Kaytee Large Tropical Fiddle Sticks Hideout and used these for a ramp and hide out Assembly hints: the instructions that came with the cage suck!! Even tho they suck, read them!! I had to put 2 of these together, the first one was broken and had to be returned, I didn't notice the damage until I'd almost had it entirely assembled. So here are a few hints to assemble it. Read the directions!! The vertical (up and down) bars of the wire sides, HAVE to be on the outside or it won't go together right!! Put the sides together first. Work on one corner at a time and put the black L shaped pieces on the top and bottom of that corner and then work you're way around. once that's done, put the large white locking tabs on, they go on the third horizontal rung from the bottom. When putting them on kind of rock them back and forth across the wire and they'll pop right on, don't try to just pull the straight down. Put the shelf in the base with or without the ramp, your choice, then set the wire assembly on top the the base and lock it down. The top is easy, not hints for that. The whole thing is really easy to assemble but the directions are so vague that I thought a few hints might help since i had to do it twice. the 2nd one went together in less than 15 minutes including unpacking time. ... show more

  • Great, high-quality cage. Bun and owner approved!
Size: 46.9"L x 22.8"W x 24.0"H Style: Cage Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Great cage! My rabbit was growing steadily and outgrowing the totally insufficient Kaytee cage that "came with" him when we purchased him. I was going to go for a bigger, more expensive cage because I have trouble settling for anything less than the best when it comes to pets, but decided to try this one first. My assessment: - The cage is very well-made. Once it's assembled, it's easy to operate and reasonably uncomplicated to keep clean. - It was a HUGE pain to put together. The directions are totally insufficient and the diagrams confusing. However, everything made it together in the end. - It's easy to clean: My guy is 90 percent litter trained and only pees in his corner litter box (unless he's mad), so I just wipe down the bottom every night and then give it a good blast with the hose once a week and it stays pretty clean. However, if you're using bedding throughout and/or your pet is NOT reliably litter trained, the bottom could be a total nightmare to scrub, since it's kind of "ribbed" in a raised square pattern. I really wouldn't recommend it for anyone who anticipates having to scrub off urine deposits--that's hard enough on a totally flat surface. - The water bottle that comes with the cage is cheap crud. Discard it for a better one. - The top opens completely for easy access to your pet and makes it easy to take out the water bottle to fill, refill food bowls, etc. - I like that it has a built-in hideaway/platform. These parts are a little hard to clean and would be annoying if not for the wonderful invention that is the hose. Bun's assessment (6-pound havana rabbit): - He is obsessed with laying on top of the platform. Seriously, he's only in the whole rest of the cage to eat and use his litter box. - He can now get in and out of the front door of the cage with ease, although he did hit his legs/belly the first few times because there isn't a ramp like many cages have. - He enjoys going in and out of the little hideaway, although the novelty seems to have worn off after a while. Doesn't spend any time under there--just darts in and out. - There's plenty of room for him to hop around. I'd like for him to have more space, but I think it's fine for a rabbit that spends most of his time free-roaming a house (mine is out for 12 hours per day). I really would get a much larger cage for buns that don't have free range, though. Like, at least double the size. I will update if I think of anything else and will try to add photos to demonstrate! ... show more
