  • Poor Quality Control with 12v Cable is only real negative with otherwise great product.
I bought this unit to keep frozen breast milk frozen while on a 3 day road trip while moving between job locations. When plugged into AC, it can freeze quite well, stays in the -25 to -20C range which is more than cold enough to keep the items inside completely frozen. The AC outlet in my GMC Terrain has max wattage of 125w or 150w and it didn't blow the fuse so the power consumption isn't high at all. The sticker on the unit, claims it uses 40w and the AC/DC power brick claims a max output of 70w. When plugged into the 12v outlet, the unit was reporting a temp of -5c after being on the road for about 8 hours each day. So while it didn't report a temp as low as when using the AC/DC power brick, none of the bags of frozen breast milk thawed at all. The 12v power cable eventually stopped working, although I don't know if the vehicle voltage was too low or some other problem. I don't actually need it, but if you don't have a built in AC plug in your vehicle, this could be a major inconvenience. When I plugged it back into AC, the display had reported that it had only gotten 12C warmer even though it had no power for about 2.5 hours with no signs of thawing. So it seems to be pretty well insulated. The black plastic folding handles flex a little when carrying it with basically about 50qts of frozen breastmilk, so they don't provide great confidence in being able to handle the load over long distances. Definitely better to put it on a wagon or something with wheels if you have to park the car kinda far away from your eventual destination. Also some of the screws on the bottom came loose. May need to use some thread locker on them. Minor inconvenience. Overall a great value when price comparing the more expensive brands. Probably won't have the poor QC though. Update: Originally purchased 30 sep 2019. It still works. No longer use it for breast milk, just normal longer term storage for regular frozen foods. Only recently realized (or forgot about it for over 2 years) that it has adjustable settings beyond temperature. The compressor or something started making loud vibration related noises, and so I tried investigating the source, I ended up finding an "ECO" setting. It is now as quiet as when I first turned it on, yet still maintains the same temperature that it is set too. ... show more

  • Nice to have refrigerator for the road. #1 Going good.
Original review details: Working good so far, fast delivery. Delivered with a small dent, cosmetic problem for some. Has been in my Jeep since few days after delivery. I have used it few times with frozen food no problem. Update 23 July 22: the unit is still working very well, I figure that I would buy a updated unit with more features and not have the glass on lid. Last night I defrosted it again and wiped it down. A few days ago I decided to try out as a freezer worked great. Now the new one is OK but actually I prefer the older one as it seems to perform better. Even though it came with a few small dents.... heck I've gave it more. Another "small" problem I've had is the power and settings buttons are sensitive to just brushing across them, not a deal breaker. I just have to check it more after on of the cats around my place gets in my truck bed area. Update on my review 17 Mar 21: I've had it for about 7-9 months still working great, on my short road trip vacation of a week bouncing around in bed of my Jeep Gladiator I had a slight icing inside. I've found that a "wonder towel" lining it under the basket and up to the shelf cuts down on rubbing and noise if not fully loaded. I had spent most of the time in use, plugged in with dz sodas and canned coffee. A few times loaded up with meat, milk and ice cream on way home from store. Now a negative is not just it's fault the 12/24 volt plug can come unplugged from 12 volt port most (vehicle) are non-locking in stock form. I got a adapter plug with to outlets and USB outlet problem solved. Mine don't have a drain and has glass on the lid not my first choice but not a problem yet. A few new dings and going still. The lid is a little dirty after I just set my arm on the glass. If I'm not mistaken this is one of the few times it's not been running since 2 days after I got it. Update 18 Sept 2024 The original one I purchased is going strong and not any issues. So on to second one, it started to not cool down I noticed a few days ago. This morning it had shutdown, I decided to clean and sanitize it. "Wipe it out inside and let dry in air" blow out dust and dirt, then reconnect and start it up. I plugged it back into power brick, turned on, it runs maybe a half minute then shut off power off. At 2 years and 3 months in use it might be done. Next is to try to power with 12v cord and battery. The last picture is of the second one that isn't working currently. That has been used inside of a cabin with ac power-brick. So 5 stars on first one. ... show more

  • Linsion Customer Service Rocks!
I received my 1st fridge on Aug 9. It would not power up on 12v which was a bummer because I was leaving the next day for a camping trip. Linsion quickly responded and sent a replacement unit out which was received on Aug 19. Linsion was courteous and concerned.. *** update 8/30-- Linsion has been very responsive to my issue with the 12v cord not powering up the unit. They sent out a replacement, but that again did not power the unit. Another 12v power cord has been sent. They got to the root of the cord problem, were honest and helped by sending a working power cable. UPDATE 9/5 LINSION STANDS BEHIND their product! I received my 12 volt replacement cord and this refrigerator is running perfect! I received thoughtful communication with them (Michael-THANKS SO MUCH!) until the issue with the cord was solved. I am using this in a converted camper van. The size is adequate with its deep bin and easy to remove basket. There is another side that can hold drinks and other things that one needs more often that makes it handy to retrieve. The size, the look, the performance and the price (and yes, it can freeze down to -13F) is exactly what I was looking for.! I can't rate the amperage use yet with the 12v. I will be running this off a 120ah AGM battery when driving in the coming week. On 110v.. it is outstanding in keeping the set temperature. Its quiet. I hear the compressor come on, but even then it is a slight temporary hum that is not distracting. I appreciate all the follow up and attention by Linsion to make me a satisfied customer. ... show more
