Ideally, your color should last several weeks, but results may vary based on your hair health, how pigmented your dye is, how often you wash your hair, and your lifestyle and hair styling habits. As such, you’ll notice the best color payoff when you start with light hair. What colors are best for darker hair? I do not typically write reviews. But I just HAD to for this dye!!!! I got Jello. The green color? Phenomenal. My hair was a white blonde/really pale yellow when I applied it on. I let it sit for 2 hours. I am giving SheGo Vibes, and I am HERE FOR IT. I feel like a beautiful poison dart frog 🐸 😏💅 I have never had just green in my hair. I have done blue, purple, pink, red, even rainbow. But this? YES. It's giving life. It's giving bad b*tch. It's GORGEOUS. I kinda wish I was exagerrating. I've always been the girl to alternat between bleach blonde and pink/purple/red/navy/etc and never staying with one color, just changing it up when one color faded. lime crime has always been one of my favorite brands, so when they came out with the unicorn hair I was intrigued and I picked up Jello nonchalantly because I had never tried green before i thought the name was kinda funny AND I FELL IN LOVE. it is vibrant, jewel toned, a unique TRUE green without any hint of blue it smells amazing, and leaves my hair feeling so silky soft like I had and expensive deep . I have never kept one unique color for very long but it has been 2 years now of being green and I can't imagine myself any other way Being green made me stand out, feel confident, feel unique and it has given me a sense of identity since going green, I've tried many other brands, manic panic electric lizard and venus envy, arctic fox, punky colors apple green and alpine green and ion brights and no matter what, i ALWAYS come back to this. It is my staple. it fades elegantly to just a lighter, yellow based spring-green/ leaf green when I had shoulder length hair, I could get away with using75% of one jar but now I have hair that reaches my ribcage and I definitely use 2 whole jars to dye my hair OH AND IT DOESN'T STAIN YOUR TUB/COUNTERS it will wash off so much easier than other brands if I want to keep it really vibrant, I re-dye it about every 6 weeks I can NOT say enough good things about this dye. most of these pics were taken soon after dying so it's vibrant, but the pic with my hair straightened is about 2.5 months of fading OH and btw, I have naturally dirty blonde hair but I always bleach before dyeing ... show more

This is by far the best hair dye I have used in my whole life. While dying my hair green, I originally got it custom colored at an Ulta salon, I'm not sure of what brand they use. I then bought Overtone in bright green to correct fading. Finally, I used the Lime Crime dye in "Jello" to correct fading again and I was amazed by the payoff! Lime Crime gives you the option to leave it on longer for a better pay off and I HIGHLY recommend it. I left "Jello" on for an hour and my hair came out so VIBRANT and pigmented! The below photos show after a week or 2 after dying (Thanksgiving day) and my hair this week (navy blue shirt). I haven't touched it up at all since I initially dyed it and the color is still; going really strong. I really like this hair dye! It’s my fave green that I’ve found recently. I was expecting lime green based on the description and bottle but it ended up being a kind of Kelly green, which was ok, it was still really pretty! It’s easy to apply and goes on really smoothly you don’t have to add conditioner or anything like some brands. I processed for a little over an hour as my hair was not all lifted underneath to add to the vibrancy. My results were really nice I think! I've done a lot of wild colors over the years, usually Manic Panic. I tried this based on others' reviews and I love it. I bleached sections of my hair first with manic panic's lightning bleach kit and still had some old dye at the ends of my hair that didn't bleach quite as light. You can see in my second picture that the ends are slightly more yellow under the green. HOWEVER, in these pics it's been at about 3 weeks since I dyed the green and I've since washed it in both cold and warm water at least 10-12 times. I usually recommend dry shampoo or only cold water rinses to keep the color vibrant but i'm amazed how well this color stood up to 5-6 warm water washes. I also have long hair and used most of the container (considering I only bleached effectively half my hair) so I will likely do a reapplication on the ends that are starting to fade in about a week, and then maintain with more cold water washes and emerald-colored conditioner from keracolor. If you have long hair and you're doing your whole head, you might want a second jar just in case or for future touch ups. Finally, this rinsed pretty clear after the first dye and hasn't stained my pillow case or other clothing the way manic panic would. Highly recommend the lime crime! ... show more

This was the first time I ever used Lime Crime hair color, and I’m super stoked on it so far. I had a hair stylist quote me around $425 to do an all over bleach and color 🤣 Sooo I ended up spending about $40 and did it myself just fine! Smells really nice, covered even at a light-dark blonde stage (I used “Jello”, and wanted a more swampy/olive green, so putting it on an orangey base was actually what I wanted to do). I have no idea what the longevity is like yet since I’ve only had it for about four days, but I’ve gotten it wet and conditioned every day with no color bleeding. Oh! It also didn’t make a god awful mess when I rinsed it out like a lot of semi permanent colors do! That was rad! It sucked up into my hair and the water ran clear almost instantly. Really hoping I’ll be able to keep it up with relatively low maintenance. So overall: Price is right. Smells great. Did not further damage my hair. Covered well. Great consistency.
