Exceptional dual purpose gas grill and wood pellet smoker. The only unit I am aware of that functions as a gas grill and a pellet smoker using the same cook chamber. Very well constructed but complex assembly requires. Arrived on a wood pallet that cannot be moved without a pallet jack, so plan accordingly for when it arrives. Enclosed underneath storage cabinet is very nice as well as the two stainless steel work areas that cover the pellet hopper on the left and another storage bin on the right. Appp works well over Bluetooth or wifi but it is not capable of working while away from home, as some pellet smoker apps are capable of doing. Gas grill functions very well, with 4 independent burners. Pellet smoker is truly a set it and mostly forget it affair for slow smoking meat such as chicken, ribs, beef brisket, pork butt, etc. The built in temp probes handle the cooking process with a "keep warm" setting after the meat has finished cooking. While a pellet smoker doesn't impart the same, deep, rich smoke as a traditional wood fired smoker, this unit does do a descent job generating smoke with it's "super smoke" setting for use during the first part of the smoking process. I did buy 2 smoke tubes to supplement the smoke produced by the unit during normal operation. Customer support is very responsive, immediately sending me a temp probe that was missing from my unit.     • Great grill for smoking, grilling, or both!
Really great grill or smoker. I needed to get rid of either my smoker or grill due to limited garage space. I was really excited to find this grill as an alternative - expecting it to do one or the other well. Much to my surprise - it does both extremely well! I have grilled multiple dinners and smoked brisket, chicken, et. al, with great satisfaction. The smoking feature has a great control module with multiple temperature probes. The integration between the probes and temperature control models prevents overcooking. It modulates temperature while smoking - even under challenging external environmental conditions - extremely well. One shortcoming is the lack of an analogue temperature monitor for grilling (it has to be plugged in for temperature monitoring via the controller). I solved this problem by drilling a whole in the lid and adding a cheap thermometer - less than $10 - from Amazon. Frankly, Lifetime should have thought of this…. On a side note, I ordered a custom fit cover from Home Depot - the only source I could find. The fit was perfect, however, the material is lightweight and has already ripped and the seams are unraveling. A huge disappointment! One caution / benefit: this grill is really heavy and needs two people for assembly. Once assembled, though, the wheels work great and the unit is very solid. In summary, this Lifetime grill / smoker fits my needs perfectly - especially after adding the thermometer to the lid. End of the day, highly recommend. ... show more

    • My review of the LIFETIME Fusion Grill
I’ve been using this grill for 6 weeks and figured it was about time to share my experience and thoughts. I’ll try to be objective and hope you find it useful. I’ve cooked with gas and charcoal grills over the past 35+ years. The last 10 years I’ve only used charcoal and wood as I ditched the gas since I wanted a more natural heat, fire and smoke. I purchased the Lifetime grill hoping to ditch the charcoal grill since I’ve been looking for a combo charcoal and gas grill that uses the same cook surface and couldn’t find one. So here’s what I think of the Lifetime grill. Note: On it I’ve cooked a pork butt and shoulder, ribs, pork chops, burger, chicken wings, salmon and pizza. Here’s some things to know about it. Control panel works as you would expect setting the pellet temperature. The High Smoke (HS) mode holds the temp around 160-180ish. The original firmware produced a fair amount of smoke as it cycled the blower on and off and the pellets would smolder when it’s off. The new firmware keeps the blower running and you get bursts of smoke only when the pellets are feed in, then they get to burning and it’s just heat. I really wish there was more adjustment over the HS mode. Like all pellet grills when you turn up the temp there is less smoke so what do you do if you want pellets for smoke and gas for heat. Well I thought I could set it to HS and use gas for heat. Well that only kind of worked since HS didn’t make much smoke and when I turned up the pellet temp there was very little smoke. So I haven’t been happy with this grill’s “Fusion” abilities. Maybe the old firmware would have done better. The grill components are well designed and it is made of quality material. I think it will last a long time. It was easy for an experienced person to assemble. The App needs some improvements but works good overall. Cooking notes; Pork butt and shoulder cooked 10 and 12 hours with a combo of pellets and gas. Nice looking smoke ring and was juicy and tender. Smoke flavor was a 3 out of 10 where my charcoal/wood grill was a 9. Pork chop and burgers were good. Mostly used gas at high heat and pellets didn’t produce much smoke. Ribs were good, but again not much smoke even though they were cooked exclusively with pellets. Salmon OK. I tried doing an initial smoke with pellets then sear with gas. Still the charcoal and wood was is much better. Chicken wings were great. I initially browned with gas then switched to HS then finished with gas. Pizza was good, mostly used gas and it was good and crispy. Tried using pellets another time and it was too much smoke. Apparently the crust is like a smoke sponge.     • Best smoker and gas grill combo!
Wife wanted gas grill… I wanted a smoker. This is the ultimate combination of both! And it looks great on the back patio. I love that it is a true two in one grill/smoker that doesn’t take up extra room in our limited space. Seems to do very well on efficiency with pellets. 18hr slow smoke only went through 3/4 of a 20# bag. And the wife can crank a steak or burgers out in very short time given the gas option gets up to 700+ degrees. Highly recommend! ... show more
