  • Bye micro-plastics, hi tasty water!
I did a lot of research before finally choosing this pitcher. Yes there are other great filter pitchers out there, but they don’t filter out the outrageous issue we have today...microplastics! Thanks to detergent pods that are Petroleum based, our drinking water is full of plastic and we are all digesting this! Not only is LifeStraw an already reputable company, they give back and help others obtain clean water. The main filter lasts a year! The water tastes great and free of microplastics! The filtration process is a little slow, but it’s a two filtration step so I’m okay with it. I bought the smaller of the two glass pitcher and it looks beautiful on my countertop. ... show more

  • Class - taste, clarity and style
LifeStraw Home has it all. It's filter is so good you can taste the purity of the water. Even my kids said it tasted good, softer and natural. No better test. But then us parents love the glass jug. It's not your awkward excuse for a filter, but actually a piece of tableware you'd be proud to put out when friends come for dinner. And it's glass so cleaning is easy and you know you're not scouring plastic and shredding particles into your drink or the environment. And the filter technology was designed and has been proven in the harshest conditions, disaster relief missions, used by pros, so you can rest assured its robust and to the highest standards. ... show more

  • Great tasting water again!
Having noticed a slight taste and occasional slight scent of chlorine over the months, I reached out to my water treatment plant. I learned they had upped their chlorination of the water supply "just in case" some scale broke free from piping and caused a bacterial concern. Sad, as Tahoe water is supposed to be some of the cleanest, best tasting city water in the USA. I do not like single use plastic bottles, so it was time to find a better solution! I wanted something that was mostly glass, and came across the LifeStraw pitcher. It is a bit large, so you have to be careful when filling it not to smack it on the sink edge, but it has held up well to lightly knocking it a few times since I have had it. I use it for my own drinking water and for making up the baby formula and filling baby's cups. I end up refilling it probably twice a day some days, so I replaced the carbon filter a little sooner, but I don't mind for as much water as I filter through it. It is awesome! I have a 1-gallon jug that I refill from time to time for the baby's water as needed, since it does take a little bit of time to refill it completely. If I am going to be in the kitchen for a bit, I will put the tap on a fast drip over the top of the pitcher so I do not have to constantly go back and turn on the tap every time I think it might be low enough for more water. Very happy with this pitcher and the cost of the replacement cartridges. Bonus is that my purchases give back to clean water charity. ... show more

  • Valuable and Necessary
The design of this pitcher filter is minimalistic (aestheticly pleasing and simple to clean). Love that the body is fully glass and lightweight (no bulky plastic handles or spouts). Great size for filtering, we pour our clean water into separate jugs for storage. Much more efficient than stocking up on multiple cases of plastic bottles from the store each week. Saving so much money (even with the maintenance/new filters). Very pleased with this filter pitcher; the water is super tasty and much better than the "local favorite" bottled water. *The elegant glass pitcher requires gentle handling, we place ours on a cloth pot holder to keep from setting it down to harshly on the counter tile. ... show more

  • Nice product if the glass didn’t break so easily
I liked this filter, but it didn’t even last me a couple months because as you can see when I set it on the counter top a small corner of the glass broke off rendering it useless. It was annoying having to fill it up multiple times a day - it can only take a small amount of water in at a time- but I was willing to deal with that for the benefit of having a glass pitcher. It is a little dumb if you think about it that the water is still going to be surrounding the plastic filter if you fill it up. So it really isn’t a plastic-less solution. I will be on the lookout for a better product. This could probably work if they would provide a rubber base protector. ... show more

  • I think it’s geometry...
LifeStraw Home Water Filter Pitcher: I am familiar with LifeStraw because I use some of their products when hiking. I love it and feel safe using it. I also use it in other countries where the water might not be up to par and they’ve worked beautifully. So when I saw this pitcher - and it was GLASS (!) - I jumped on it! But I didn’t love it as much as I was sure I would. Before I go on, let me just say that the tap water where I live often smells like a swimming pool -it’s so chlorinated so I am a fiend for filters. To that end, this filter works very well. I am very happy with the performance of LifeStraw in general and this pitcher specifically. Now,... this pitcher is very tall. No problem. I am very tall. I like it. But surprisingly, the reservoir only holds 2 cups of water! I mean, it’s tall and kind of wide - I expect it to hold a lot of water - and it does - but you have to pour it in there two or three times to get a decent amount of water in there. I drink a lot and I don’t want to have to fill it up after every pour. (I know. There are people who would love to have this problem) Next is the little disk on top that you have to pour over/past. It’s weird. I am used to removing the top and rapid pouring a liter or two at a time. With this, there is a small opening and capacity is only 2 cups. And don’t pour too fast or you’ll have a mess. I’ll have to check to see if they make other styles. The water is good. The geometry is weird. ... show more
