    • Corrected almost all the play that was in the steering wheel.
Perfect replacement for my 29 year old 1996 C1500 rag joint. It corrected almost all of the play that was in my steering wheel. I am very happy with the results. However, I did substitute two grade 8 bolts, SAE flat washers, and nylock locknuts to use instead of the supplied bolts and locknuts. Just pay very close attention that you pull down the two bolts evenly and not so much as to excessively deform the rubber material. I used the amount of deformation under the riveted sides as a guide. I also used a metric socket head cap screw to use in place of the supplied clamping bolt. ... show more

Was a perfect fir and really tightened up my steering. Was a lot of work getting the old one off since the two pins had to be ground all the way off on both sides. The new one went on pretty easy though.

Majority of work was removing old steering link and conditioning it. Checking fit was done before grinding the rivets and destroying the old rag joint. Initially wasted time trying to just grind the rivet heads. Grind into the old rag joint stops in order to punch out old rivets. Install the rag joint connection to the power steering unit first and then the steering wheel. The play in the steering wheel was reduced significantly and feels firm again. ... show more
