Assembly was quick and easy. Having used a gas trimmer for the last several years, I was concerned whether this electric trimmer would have sufficient power. I find it has plenty of power to trim around trees and bushes, edge sidewalks, etc. Loading the string is simple. The trimmer is light and easy to maneuver; I don't use the shoulder strap. And, I definitely prefer a straight shafted trimmer over a curved shafted one. For the price and for my home use, I am very happy with this purchase. One note, the little bundle of green string that comes with the trimmer is too lightweight/thin for my liking. But I don't consider that an issue, especially since I already had a roll of heavier duty string, which loads fine and works great with the trimmer. ... show more

I’ll tell you it’s pretty impressive I’ve had both gas and cordless weed eaters and for 40 bucks this blows them both away the easy feed line is easy to replace cord the only flaw I can see it it’s a little heavier than normal and the connection of the two piece bar is a little Flimsy .... comes with wingnuts which I would recommend going to the hardware store and replace those with nuts and washers the wingnuts come loose even if you torque it down the two piece shaft I had to reinforce with duct tape which wasn’t too bad gives you more stability and I just felt better .... all in all five stars for 40 bucks man this thing kicks ass make sure you wear eye protection Tall boots or thick pants because it throws it at you even with a protector it cuts that hard I wouldn’t let your young kids use it but I think you’ll be completely satisfied ... show more

    • Beast trimmer with a cord

Needed to replace my existing outdated corded trimmer and this one is stronger than my grass hog that I used until it died. After reviewing several brands decided on this non-brand trimmer ( because of price, maintenance and strength of unit) and let me tell you its a beast. Its stronger than the smaller corded trimmers (which I like and needed) and didn't want a cordless because of battery issues over time. I also didn't want to deal with the "gas, filter or spark plug" replacement parts so I went with this. If you have dealt with cords in the past then you should already own a 100 ft. cord, if you don't get one to reach all parts of your lawn. Overall happy with the trimmer and would recommend as a middle of the road unit stronger than smaller units and no maintenance with gas, spark plug & filter. You do have to put together from the box but if you've had a trimmer you should know the basic parts to put it together, only used a screwdriver and hex wrench to put together less than 10 mins. Pros: Price was reasonable compared to other corded electric trimmers and 1/3 the price of gas units. Its not a bump head trimmer but that's also why I bought it. It has a red button to load/release the string when changing it. Trimmer head feels heavy duty well made. Weights less than some gas units. Only maintenance is to change the string, when needed. Has a safety button to push right before you start the machine every time, but convenient where its located. Cons: Skeptic about the brand but won me over once I used it, I'd recommend to folks. The black handle feels slightly flimsy, but only time will tell. (Suggestion to manufacturer- make slightly thicker) not a deal breaker. For first time trimmer users/buyers manufacturer should make video to put trimmer together from box since the directions are brief (no issue for DIYers). Hope this review helps people like me when, I was deciding on new trimmer. ... show more

This string trimmer is what people only dream of. It is not light weight, but this is a good thing as light weight string trimmers break. This is a gas string trimmer which has an electric motor on it instead of a two-cycle engine. It is built to last. This thing is powerful and eats through anything. The string is easy to change. First ill start by saying its powerful and cuts just about anything if your looking for a brush hog then this will work but I've got a few issues with it 1st its awkward to hold cause its soooo long and straight I have to strain to use it. 2nd its ALL or nothing its not like my other weed wacker where you can slow it down with rhe trigger this thing is full blast the whole time which I really dont like cause I bought it to use around my flower beds and with how fast and awkward it is I can't use it without risking hitting plants also with the all or nothing crazy motor it vibrates the whole thing and my hands go numb withing minutesof use. 3rd the weight isn't distributed well so again awkward to hold.. let me just say I'm a smaller female so for a man these probably wouldn't be such big issues but unless you are buying it to clear alot of brush then I would go with something smaller cause this is to crazy to use just for small areas even my husband said its crazy! ... show more

    • Would not fit together correctly. Falls apart when ran. A pain, but had to return.

The motor shaft would not fit completely over the other cutting shaft. It would barely engage but would not clip into each other fully. Tried to run it this way but it would just come apart. Had to return it. Such a major pain! Wanted to stay electric but after the GreenWorks mower/trimmer package was such a let down over the last couple of years (battery life was terrible and low power on all products) we just got a corded version. This is not one I would buy again or recommend since it wouldn't even fit together correctly! The few seconds it would run before disengaging it was powerful feeling. Yet, the motor/handle end was quite unbalanced and heavy on that hand. The trigger was all or none and hard to push in and hold on. It was very unbalanced but this could be due to not fully assembling correctly, although it was only about 1" off from clicking the spring button in place, so the balance would be off either way I would guess. ... show more
