Description

Our Timberland PRO Powertrain ESD athletic work shoes offer lightweight performance, but they're all business when it comes to protection. Not only are their mutilation-free, premium polyester uppers tough enough to handle working on your feet all day, these sneakers feature alloy safety toes and are designed for Electro Static Dissipating (ESD) compliance to minimize hazards from static electricity buildup. Their breathable, moisture-wicking linings are made of ReBOTL fabric containing at least 50% recycled plastic. Plus, their proprietary outsoles are constructed of heat-, oil-, slip-, and abrasion-resistant, non-marking polyurethane for enhanced traction and built- in Anti-Fatigue Technology for shock absorption and energy return. Made to stand up to rough and tough jobs, the Timberland Mudsill is a rugged multi- purpose shoe that's exceptionally comfortable and easy to wear. Featuring a steel toe, a flexible and breathable leather and fabric upper and an Ortholite polyurethane footbed with an anti-microbial cover for resilient cushioning, this shoe also offers valuable protection against electrical hazards. A compression molded EVA midsole provides lightweight support, while the rubber outsole is slip, oil and abrasion resistant. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Timberland set new industry standards for craftsmanship, durability and protection when it introduced an authentic, waterproof leather boot in 1973. • Comfortable enough, definitely preferable to the Reebok Sublite
I got these in wide because for the past two years I'd been wearing Reebok Sublite's aka concrete blocks on my feet and those were pinching my toes. These are better in that regard but I'm having an issue where the metal toe guard rubs on my right toe. Almost like they made a wide shoe but didn't make the toe guard any wider and just used the same one. The sole of these are pliable but not soft. The exterior is seamless so you won't tear your shoe up because it got caught on something. The laces are rather short but that's also kind of a good thing because then they won't snag anything. There's enough cushioning that your feet won't hurt at the end of the days. A huge bonus of these is the slip resistance. I walked into a trailer where there was a spill that nobody knew about or could see because the substance was clear and I *felt* the shoes gripping the floor. Reached down and felt the floor with my glove and it was slick. If I didn't have shoes with good slip resistance I'm sure I'd have fallen. Overall I'd have to say these are worthy of wearing to work. They're light and cushiony enough. I'm sure the insoles will need replaced after 4-5 months like every other work shoe ever. I'll most likely get another pair in the future to replace these. ... show more

  • snug at first
Just got these today and wanted to note something important before I forgot. I'll update this review later if necessary, but it's definitely a 5-star for now. When I first put them on, they felt like my size, but I felt like they were a little snug at the forefoot, right before the toes (especially for "wides"). I also worried that the toebox might be a bit small. They were comfortable, but I was a little concerned how they might feel after standing all day, when your feet may tend to swell a little. Typically, these sneaker-style safety shoes require very little to no break-in. But, after wearing these around the house for about six hours, they have loosened up quite a bit and are now perfectly comfortable. There's also good flexibility in the lacing system for adjustments, should they loosen up too much. So, don't worry if they are a bit snug at first. Maybe wear them on carpet for a while, do some kneeling and walk around quite a bit to see if they loosen up before returning them. Other than that, this is my third pair of Timberland Pro's (over the years), and I would say this pair fits my feet truer to size than the previous ones, which were a bit roomy. One foot is slightly larger than the other, so there's a somewhat narrow range for me to achieve dual-foot nirvana, and these do the trick. In my view, these shoes have the best stability of any sneaker-style safety shoe that I've had to date. In fact, despite having taken off a pair of boots to put these on, I have had to be reminded several times that these aren't boots! They didn't try to make a running shoe with a steel toe, and I really appreciate that. I like the aggressive soles, because you can transition between inside and outside jobs with the same shoe; however, as others have noted, you don't get as much rubber hitting the asphalt, so to speak, and may bust your *** on a slick, smooth surface as a result. In and around my house, the soles have been pretty grippy on synthetic hardwood, real hardwood and unfinished concrete surfaces. They are not nearly as non-slip as a quality hiking boot with a sticky, soft, floor-marking outsole, but who wants to wear a $150-200 boot to work and wear the soles out in 3 months? Finally (for now), having shoelaces that aren't completely black adds just a touch of flair. It's a minor thing, but that bit of subtlety breaks up the monotony of the solid black shoe while preserving a "professional" appearance. If you are on the fence, these shoes are worth giving a shot. ... show more

  • great shoes for about a year
i'm a commercial electrician who does alot of walking and was looking for something lighter and more comfortable than your typical boot. i found these and bought them. they are the most comfortable work shoes i have worn. i would have given them 5 stars but for the price they didn't last as long as i would have liked. after a year they really started to fall apart i managed to get another 6 months out of them but they now have big holes in the sides where the steel toe stops. the soles are holding up nicely though. all things considered i will buy another pair because they were so comfortable. ... show more

  • Great shoe!
I'm doing this review after I've owned these shoes until they actually wore out enough that I decided to buy another pair. I've purchased a lot of steel toe shoes/boots over the years and these have came to be my favorite. I worked 12+ hours a day, on my feet and these shoes always got a workout. Getting 8-10k steps a day on average. I've been happy with the fit, comfort, weight and how they are built to last. They are true to size for me. And once I started paying attention I realized a lot of my co workers wore these also. Makes sense right. ... show more

  • Super comfy work shoes
Size: 10.5 Color: Black Raptek V1
Originally got a pair of these shoes for free through my old job. So comfortable from the first time I tried them on... Started wearing them right away and they feel very natural, no need for a break-in period. I got them as an athletic-style shoe that complies with work requirements for slip-resistance and toe protection, and they're perfect, lightweight, make me feel agile and able to move efficiently. I typically wear a size 10.5, and the sizing is a perfect fit for me, maybe slightly loose. I recently ordered this specific item from Amazon after pondering the differences between the variants I see listed: my first pair is labeled with "SD+" (static dissipative) while these ones are "EH/ESD" (electrical hazard/electro-static dissipative). As far as I can tell, they are identical in design, build quality, materials, etc. Probably just an iteration in branding and color schemes. (I reordered this variant due to lower price. No regrets!) ... show more

  • 5 stars as of day 3
5 stars as of day 3. I will update later. I am on a concrete floor all the time, these are quite comfortable. No "break-in" peroid like cat boots that are so painful. I got the 12 2e and it fits my left foot perfect my right foot is a little wider and my pinkey toe barely rubs. another mm and i couldn't fit in the shoe with a good pair of socks no problems yet. 2 months later. Very Comfortable. I have probably walked 1000+ miles in them and have kicked pallets into pieces i can fit into a compactor, dropped cinder blocks on my toes, and it has saved me from a nail, etc... However the outside looks terrible now. They have no cosmetic appeal left whatsoever. Considering the abuse i put on them they are well worth the money, just not something I would wear on a date. I rate these shoes 4.9 stars. *only magical, indestructible, cheap, and comfortable shoes get 5 stars* The bottom line of my comments YES THIS IS A GOOD BUY. ... show more

  • Great pair of steel toe shoes
I am now on my second pair after running my first into the ground after 2 years. These are the most comfortable steel toe shoes that I have ever owned. No need to break them in or get use to them. Other brands can't compare in style and comfort (I've tried Wolverine, Worx, Cat and Converse). The only down side is the construction on certain areas doesn't quite hold up to heavy abuse, but will last long enough to get your money's worth. I had to replace them do to tearing at the seems in the steel toe area, rubber toe separating and the back heel padding being nonexistent (mostly my fault for being lazy and sliding them on and off). But these shoes paid their dividends in protection and comfort, so I had to buy another pair. I give them 5 stars due to the comfort and protection. I am not going to knock them down for my constant abuse. They lasted a solid year before starting to show signs of wear and tear. ... show more

  • Big-ole Monsters
***UPDATE - 11.05.17*** so i gave these things as much time as i could tolerate (roughly two weeks), hoping they would "break in", or that maybe my feet would just get used to them... but they did not. (neither the shoes, nor my feet.) they still look pretty cool, and as far as i can tell, the construction is super duper; they basically look as though i just pulled them out of the box, save for several scuffs to the tops which have left marks but definitely have not damaged the material. they're just too big to offer any real comfort for my mangled feet. essentially, the insole has already pounded in deeper in the center, but remains the default thickness around the outside edges (to clarify: outside edges of the insole, which is all inside the shoe still). this has served to create these raised edges of angry, which mash and beat on the outside edges of my feet as i waddle and limp along in them. as a result, i have actually missed half a day of work because i am in so much pain i cannot stand. so the shoes are tough and neato looking, and they are evil torture devices, and i cannot use them anymore. It's truly too early to provide accurate information regarding the longevity of these monsters, but there are enough reasons for me to post this review right now... First of all, some background: I am a big fat man. At 5'9", 320lbs, I have huge, wide, flat feet. My excessive weight has served to pound my poor podial appliances into gnarled, misshapen aborted pancakes. That being said, these shoes run pretty large; I would say probably about a half size larger than average. Most brands of shoes I buy must be purchased in a 13 wide; however, while a 12 in this shoe would probably be too short for my foot, the wide version is CAVERNOUS. It would surprise me to discover that anyone would truly need this shoe in a wide size, as I believe I would have been more comfortable with the regular width version. As it stands, these shoes are a bit too wide to be comfortable if you are constantly moving 8+ hours per day; the lack of lateral support inside the shoe causes my feet to shift back and forth enough to cause pain on the outside edges of my feet if I'm walking more than two hours straight. Yes, although I'm a big tub of lard, my job requires me to walk at least 10 miles per day, no exaggerations. So they look awesome, they're comfortable as hell if you stand still more than you move, and they're bigger than they need to be... I'll check back in after I have decimated these and let you know how long you should expect them to live. ... show more
