This is a factory Launch product in a factory Launch box, so you know it’s not going to fry your expensive scan tool! Mine was missing in action for my Launch X431 scan tool, so rather then try to be cheap and maybe break the tool, I just ordered this factory charger, and it obviously works exactly as it should. It’s a charger, plug it into the wall and plug it into the tool, it’s that easy! Not cheap, chinsy plastic, it’s actually well made. Charged my tools battery right back up full, and now I can use the tool again! Just get it, maybe even get a spare! Critical for the X431, as its wireless and therefore doesn’t charge from the OBDII port. ... show more

The LAUNCH Original 5.0V 3.0A DC Power Supply arrived in fine condition, but its performance was unfortunately very disappointing. I’m giving this two stars because it simply could not maintain a stable connection during use. Here is why it didn't work for me: Loose Connection: The plug would not hold its place securely. Whenever I was using my scanner and moved it even slightly, the power would falter and cut out. Inconsistent Power: I even tried testing the cord with another 5V device to see if the scanner was the problem, but I got the exact same results. It seems the power flow is just not consistent. Potential Defect: It is possible that I just got unlucky and received a faulty cord, but for a piece of equipment that needs to stay powered while you're working, this was far too unreliable. If you need a charger that can handle a bit of movement while at work, this particular cord might not be the best choice. ... show more

    • Works for pulse ox
We have a pulse oximeter at work that requires a DC charger. The charger the device came with broke and I was looking for a new one. This had the correct volts and amps required by the pulse oximeter, so I ordered it for that. The plug is much nicer than the original cord that came with the device and it works perfectly. The cord is nice and long so it can reach across the counter. We do not necessarily need it that long; however, it is a nice feature. The cord does seem to be a little thinner, so we will have to be careful with it to avoid breaking the wires inside the cord. If you need a DC charger that has the same requirements for your device, try this one. ... show more

This power adapter came in a box that had the Launch branded tape. This gave me confidence that I wasn’t just getting a generic power brick and maybe the provider has been vetted. In a land of white lable everything, it is nice when a company does put their name on something. I tested this power adapter and indeed it puts out the stated 5 VDC from my 120 VAC. This Intertek listed. There are a lot of other cheaper alternative that do not have any listing on them. For the few extra dollar you have to pay to get a quality product, that is industry listed, and comes branded with a repuable name I think the value is there for the reassurance. ... show more
