For the last few years I've used a standard, handheld label maker. I have to be honest, I'm not a major label user but there are times when I do need to have them. Recently my label maker has been delivering more "label jams" than actual labels. I can get it to work by jiggling the tape and the transport wheel but it's a hassle. I saw this and thought I'd give it a try. Comparing my old label maker to this is like comparing a Volkswagen to a Rolls Royce. The footprint of the device is about the size of a novel book. It resembles a small typewriter (if you're old enough to remember what one of those is?). The device has a full QWERTY keyboard with various additional buttons allowing you to change the font, frame and to insert symbols etc. This allows the unit to be used as a standalone device without any additional connections. Advanced users can also generate bar and QR codes which could be a boon to the small business owner. The device charges by USB-C so there's no need to keep a stack of batteries on hand as I have had to do in the past. To simplify use, you can download an app to your phone or tablet or even load the control software onto your computer and connect to the device via the supplied USB-C connector (although I believe there may be a subscriber charge for this option). This makes programming label content a breeze. I had no problem installing the Print Master app on my Android tablet and the tablet established a Bluetooth connection to the printer with ease. Printing my test labels worked flawlessly using this method, If you're generating a lot of labels, barcodes and QR codes for your business this flexibility could be a game changer. The device ships with an 18mm wide "trial" label tape but you can use sizes down to 9mm. I'll probably stick with 12mm which is pretty much the standard "domestic" size. The smaller the tape, the more economical though if you need to read labels from a distance in a warehouse, the bigger sizes will probably suit you best. All in all, this is a great label making solution. I was surprised how far this technology has developed but once you get to use it, it's a no brainer. I'll continue to use my old label maker until it no longer functions. Hopefully I'll be able to use up all the cartridges I bought for it before it finally expires. After that, I'll be using this label maker for everything going forward. It truly is a different class of instrument with practicality and ease of use at the forefront. Recommended!

I've been using label printers for "many" years now and have a small collection of them. I've wanted a larger 18mm printer and when I got the chance I grabbed this Vixic printer to try out. This printer is a a little on the large size and weighs the most of all my labelers but it does so much. It does have Bluetooth and once connected the app on my Samsung phone it opens up so much more this printer can do. We've tried this on both our Samsung phones "S23U and Z Flip4" and a couple of our tablets "one Samsung one Oukitel" and the app performs flawlessly on them. This labeler has rechargeable batteries using a USB C charging cable "supplied", and is so much handier than the wall charger supplied with one of my other units, "that we keep misplacing" and without that proprietary charger there's no way to charge that one. The others use AA or AAA batteries and while they do last a long time I have to be sure to keep a fresh supply of them around. We do like the QWERTY keyboard layout, it makes typing much easier than trying to "hunt peck" with the non standard keyboard layouts of some of our old label makers. The screen has more than enough information on it and it nice and clear. The print speed is pretty fast "pretty much the same as the rest" and the laminated "included" labels are tough as heck. Cutting is done manually and you can turn a reminder on/off in the menu. As far as settings go, there's a lot of them in the menus and can be a little confusing but you should get by fine on the default settings anyway. The Android app makes using the printer so much easier though and I'll be using this mostly to label cables as there's a specific label layout just for either "wrapping or flagging" which works great as I like to keep all my cables on our computers/networking/AV labeled for ease of maintenance. This one also takes standard P Touch 3/4" "18mm" cartridges and are available in all kinds of colors, plus these have gotten pretty inexpensive over the years so you can really print a lot inexpensively. I do like that these are laminated labels which makes them tough as heck and you really don't have to worry about them fading or the print itself being damaged. The 18mm width also allows you to print multiple lines in larger font making it much easier to read over the smaller width labels. If you are looking for a really good label printer this is going to be a good one to put high on your shopping list.

Before I started to use the Bluetooth connected app for the iPhone I was just meh about the label printer. The printer is about the same size as my old Brother label printer it replaced but has so much more features and versatility. To use the free app you'll need to download the printer app from the AppStore or Google Play it's called "Print Master" and has a small red mushroom for the logo. The application will allow you to use tons of icons, fonts, and graphics on your labels. You can make barcodes, QR codes, add pictures to the labels and more. The label printer is designed to work with the app only and you cannot connect to the Bluetooth name from your Bluetooth manager and must connect from within the app. I put some screenshots of the various settings and features in the phone app. What is nice about the app is you can add images or pictures on the label and there are so many different fonts and icons available. You can also make barcode labels or QR codes on the fly and print them out for other people to scan with their phone to bring up any webpage or link. The printer is okay on the printouts not super sharp on the text but the readable and there is lots of controls to adjust your labels and you can send the label to be printed directly from your phone. It has a rechargeable battery that is charged via USB-C cable. I didn't see anyway to replace the Li-ion battery so it's nice for saving on throwaway alkaline batteries but eventually Li-ion do lose capacity. It does allow the printer to be used while plugged into a USB-C charge cable.
