Good for curly hair, didn't loosen my curls. The shampoo and conditioner that came with also helped mitigate dryness. The color is a nice cherry red from brown hair. I would, however, recommend ignoring the directions to start with the roots as it tends to develop faster there and it looked great doing it the traditional way. Also, this may not be for someone with sensitive skin or a sensitive scalp. My scalp was itchy and dry afterwards but it did go away within a few days. ... show more

Do not use if you previously used box black. I removed most of the black hair dye I had in my hair down to a reddish brown. Next day I used this to give it a more red tone....my hair is back to black. Like pitch, raven black. I'm not happy at all. Guess this is best on natural/virgin hair. Never had this happen with any other brand. Will not be using again unless I have gone back to my completely natural hair ... show more
