My hair feels softer, looks healthier, and the shine is beautiful. It didn’t leave my hair feeling overly dry like some other dyes I’ve tried. I also loved that the kit includes a shampoo and conditioner. They made my hair feel very soft and helped add even more shine after coloring. It’s a really nice extra that helps your hair feel nourished after the dye process. I’ve been coloring my own hair for about 30 years. When I was younger, it was to just lighten my monochrome black hair. Now I have a little gray that I want to cover up and I still want a little bit lighter color. I’ve tried every variation of every home hair color brand, including L’oreal. But this L’oreal Excellence Universal Nudes is the one I’m going to stick with. Long-lasting color that’s not orange or red, it doesn’t stink or burn, and its formula is thick and easy to apply and doesn’t drip. I love the comb applicator too as I have short hair. The shampoo and conditioner that comes in the box is great. I wish they would sell it separately. I have healthy, touchable soft hair that looks like my natural color and makes me feel good about myself. Couldn’t ask for anything more from a $13 box of hair color. ... show more

    • Never change your formula
Color: 7N Natural Dark Blonde Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
This lightened my darker, previously dyed hair into a gorgeous golden light auburn brown—my hair really takes well to that pigment. But I also believe auburn/ginger is just my natural underlying pigment, since my hair always fades to that color when lightened. I’m honestly so impressed. The color looks super natural and even, which surprised me since my bangs are very porous and usually turn out darker than the rest of my hair. Somehow this dye gave me a consistent result all over. I’m surprised it lightened my hair because it did seem quite damaged, so I didn’t think it was possible. I love the golden hue of this dye— it’s such a flattering tone. On top of that, my hair feels soft and healthy. With the ammonia-free Revlon, my hair always felt like straw and seemed more damaged afterward. But this dye left my hair feeling soft, not brittle, and that makes me so happy. It’s been about a week since I colored, and my hair still looks and feels great—no signs of the usual damage I’d expect after dyeing with revlon. This formula must be much gentler (though of course everyone’s hair can react differently I suppose?) I got the shade 7N and I truly love it. Please never change this formula, L’Oréal—it’s perfect! Update: I also tried the 6N light brown! If you leave it on a while, it will run quite dark like the other reviews say, but in my case it lightened up quick with hair washing! I think I'm going to stick with the 6N because in my case it was just a darker version of 7N which I like. But if you want to lighten hair, for sure go for the 7N or above. Anything under that, it will probably darken! 6N does seem to lighten my color too, but for most pple it darkens. I’ve also noticed, maybe it’s because I don’t do color care, the color does lighten over time on my hair, but I notice my hairs like this with any dye. My hairs happy so I’m happy, all I know is it’s better than the revlon I was using cuz my hair isn’t turning into a Sahara desert Update: Still using this dye! My scalp has never seemed irritated from it so far. It only started itching everytime I used Revlon. I notice I always get a consistent result with this dye, which is why I'm loyal to it now. The ingredients aren't bad either, only two ingredients that slightly concern me which are Dimethyl Silyate and the Toluene-2, and 5-Diamine Sulfate. But using every once in a great while shouldn't be an issue and much better than many other options ... show more

This is my go to color now. I am a red head.. with some grays now that I am aging and this gets the stubborn grays and is closest to m y old natural color when younger. The Excellence line covers grey better than even the Preference line. Th L'Oreal brands are easier on my hair. There is another brand that has a color I like more, but it is harsh and dries my hair out. I alternate to get the color I want based on the seasons. L'Oreal products have great instructions so they are easy to use. I am 60+ and have hair to the chin line. One of these is plenty to cover all of my hair.
