HiColor is a Permanent hair color brand by L’Oreal Technique that is specifically formulated for dark bases of hair. All of the shades in the line provide multi-level lift on dark hair in one step with no brassiness. The shades are mixed in a 1:1.2 ratio with Oreor Crème Developer 30 volume (20 volume for relaxed hair). Processing time is 30 minutes at room temperature.

For all those that are using this on dark hair and getting upset that all they got was orange, black, please remember with dark hair your undertones will always be orange or red. When I used this I had dyed boxed black hair, I color Oops the black out first that’s the key. I do know on the box are supposed to just be able to put this on black hair and poof. You’re going to have blonde hair. It just does not work that way You must remove that color first. When you put this on your hair you’ll get a much lighter result faster. If you decide to take my advice and color up your color out first, then just apply this with either a 30 developer or I personally use a 20 developer that has oil in it. I got it on Amazon. Just put in the search button oil developer, and I get the one with the red label. It works great and it also helps not to dry your hair out. They sell a 20 and a 30 . The name escapes me right now. I am obsessed!!! I used 1 Magenta and 2 reds plus developer for my whole head. Background: I never use heat on my hair (except when blow drying after dying it), wash once a week, use color safe shampoos, and use hair oils after washing. I have seen no damage to my hair at all! After a month all that needs touching up is my roots! Will be using for as long as I wanna be red!! FYI: STRONG ammonia smell ... show more

I was soooo excited after watching YouTube on how to get bright vibrant colors without using bleach, so I bought the “intense red” bc I wanted to spice it up a little since I loc’d my 4C hair and was planing to dye the retwist it. I followed the directions but it only gave me a purplish tint like I just put a rinse on my hair. Not even one strand looked red. Some of my scalp felt like it was getting ready to burn a little and I had a PTSD moment with it feeling similar to how perm feels when you leave it in too long, so I rinsed it out thinking it processed long enough (and of course thinking I need to rinse this out before my hair falls out) I don’t know how people kept this stuff on for 40+ minutes bc when I rinsed washed my hair, it was literally smoking! And my hair felt so brittle I had to save it by deep conditioning and oils for it to not even color it. I’m not sure what chemicals are in this but sis just buy the box dye bc the SMELL of this stuff smells like something you shouldn’t even slather on your hair. It was so strong, it was burning my eyes and nose and had to open a window. But all of that just to have my hair tinted you wouldn’t know it’s “colored” unless in the sun. I know people say this is a “healthier” method than traditional box dye but it’s just bad if not worse(bc why was my scalp burning and hair smoking?) At least with the other box dye I know my hair would be the color it claims it’ll be. I’m not sure if I didn’t use enough developer or if the product I got was defective or what, but take a gamble if you want ladies. ... show more
