  • Hair Girlies
Color: Magenta Size: 1.2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
This did really good on my hair. I wanted a dye i didn't have to bleach my hair for and let me tell you Loreal came trough. I only mixed it with some developer and the color stayed vibrantly. I dyed my hair in August there is still color in my hair till this day with no touch ups however obviously after a few washes it fades. But i will be doing a touch up soon. Also it smells really nice and isn't harsh on my 4C hair at all. I've gotten a lot of compliments and questions about the dye i used. ... show more

  • WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!
Color: Magenta Size: 1.2 Ounce (Pack of 3)
I studied the reviews and a lot of people never said what color their hair was originally or if they had grey or how often they do their roots- SO… I was sick of the nightmare- I have super straight hair and it is originally dark brown/almost black (if I dye it black people think it’s natural!) and I’ve been getting grays since I was a teenager. My hair also grows FAST, and I need to cut my bangs once a week! So one day I was feeling depressed about my hair bc I had gone to a salon just a minute before & now it was mega pink but already my usual black & white roots were coming in! In desperation I Googled Fashion Color for graying hair/ Dark hair and the first thing that popped up was THIS BRANS of reds! I like the UNNATURAL red colors (for now) but was told no permanent “fashion colors” exist by the PROS! (Oh but they DO!! Here’s one right here!) I used Magenta once that time I ordered it and now, once a week I do the roots; I read specifically that to cover grays/fade a bunch of very dark hair that you’d use 30 developer (20 if your hair iw fragile & use Age Beautiful or a brand called Silk!) and the permanent dye mix in your most obvious roots only (at the part, the sides, beneath bangs) and leave on 35 minutes. You can actually, w this color- I know they say you can’, but you can! You can open it up and use only half the color w half the recommended amt of developer (1.2 oz!) & then put the lid back on and put it in an air tight container! The next time you go to use it, it’s FINE! Shampoo your hair w Clenditioner (I got it that here too- it comes in a big variety of colors, smells amazing & gives your already amazing, head exploding color an extra POP! Everyone will ask you HOW you got your color! So I’m telling you- if you have very dark hair w some or even a LOT of grey in it (bc grey is tougher to color than black, as some people know!) THIS IS HOW! And you may not have to do it every week! I do bc I’m a freak, my hair is super straight and grows 100 miles an hour but if your hair grows more slowly- you don’t need to dye your whole head! And if you ever wondered how famous people NEVER have their roots showing? Ever? Now you know (except they don’t get their own hands or bathrooms dirty and have a team of experts following them around- I imagine!)! I will try to include a pic of my current hair but this is my first review where I’ve done that & I should have one to show you! This dye is the bees knees, people! ... show more

  • Vibrant, Long-Lasting Color — My Go-To Red!
Color: H11 Intense Red Size: 1.74 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I’ve used a lot of red hair dyes over the years, but nothing beats L’Oréal HiColor Reds! The color payoff is amazing, it’s bright, bold, and shows up beautifully even on dark hair without needing bleach. I always get compliments every time I use it. It’s easy to mix and apply, and the color lasts a long time without fading too quickly. I also love that it leaves my hair soft and shiny instead of dry or brittle like some other dyes do. This is my second time buying it, and it’s officially my go-to red! If you’re looking for a true, rich red that pops, this is the one. ... show more

  • I love this hair dye
Color: Magenta Size: 1.2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I The color comes out vibrant and intense even on dark hair, and it doesn’t require pre-bleaching. The formula is easy to apply, doesn’t drip, and leaves my hair looking shiny and healthy. Highly recommend for bold, long-lasting color!

  • Good for a semi-perm
Color: Magenta Size: 1.2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
The bright color stays for about a month of washing every other day. It's still in my hair after 2 months, but it's starting to turn from magenta to orangish. It also does not stay well on pre-treated hair—I had a couple highlights from a previous bleaching, and the color fell off after a week in those spots. ... show more

  • Fantastic, bright highlights for brunettes
Color: Magenta Size: 1.2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
About my hair before highlighting: I keep my hair in a pretty short inverted bob with blunt bangs. I'd been dying my hair black for years using brands like Feria. I decided about 6 months ago that I wanted to go back to red hair, so I tried Feria Violet Soft Black as a transition color, lightening the shades of red as my hair grew out. Big surprise, it didn't really work out that well. Just prior to using the L'Oreal Hicolor for the first time, I had some pretty serious gray roots, which I was really concerned about turning pink. After reading the various reviews on here, and then checking out a few red hair websites, I decided to try my hand at doing my own professional color using L'Oreal Hicolor Magenta Highlights. Materials used: L'Oreal Hicolor Magenta Highlighter (1.2 oz) L'Oreal Level 30 Developer (2.4 oz) Neutral Protein Filler (1.2 oz) Rubber gloves A smock Hair color mixing bowl (Sally Beauty has nice bowl that are marked by ounces and have a brush "strainer" at one end - cost ~$3) Hair color application brush Hair color mixing wand Comb Tube of Eucerin Aquaphor moisturizer Disposable shower cap The Process: I put on the smock and rubber gloves, then used the Aquaphor to protect any skin that I didn't want to get stained by hair dye. (Note: This stuff is not nearly as bad as Manic Panic when it comes to mess and staining! In fact, it is not all that messy, in my opinion, especially when compared to Manic Panic!) To be safe, since I'd just moved into my house, I also put a tarp down, but I didn't get any dye on the floor. I blended together the HiColor Magenta, Level 30 Developer, and Protein Filler in the color mixing bowl using the mixing wand/color brush. It took about 15-20 minutes to get fully blended. NO JOKE. The resulting mixture was much more "watery" than store bought boxed hair colors, but not as messy as demi-permanent dyes, like Manic Panic. Since my roots were gray, and the Developer lightens hair, I started with the darkest part of my hair and worked up toward my roots. I used the comb to periodically make sure the dye was equally distributed through my hair. It took about 20 minutes to apply the dye. I had leftover dye, since my hair isn't very long. I washed it down the sink. I put on a shower cap and left the dye in for an hour. After an hour, I showered, rinsing the dye from my hair. The instructions tell you to shampoo and condition, which I did using TIGI Bed Head Re-Energize Shampoo and Conditioner in cool water. The Results: GORGEOUS bright, deep magenta hair. Just lovely. The original plan was to do the Hicolor as "Step 1" and then deepen the color using Manic Panic before going back to work after the holiday, but the color was so awesome and I got so many compliments from total strangers, that I kept it. It worked in my favor, too, as I ended up being sent to meet a potential client in Atlanta, who loved me (and my hair!). They ended up signing on with my company and bringing me down for some work in January. I did a second application of Hicolor Magenta in December and then mixed Manic Panic Vampire Red with Ultra Violet in January (resulting in a beautiful "boysenberry" color, however it was a pain to apply, and made a total mess in my bathroom... and on hotel towels for weeks afterward). The biggest concern I had was my gray roots. Do your darkest hair first, leave the gray for last. It definitely comes out a bit pink, but results in a very cool gradient-like effect. Also, to make it last, wash in the coldest water you can handle and use color-friendly products. ... show more
