I bought this because I needed an inexpensive way to determine if my director liked the color for an upcoming stage production. For reference, I have very short-kept salt and pepper hair, much more pepper with salty streaks. Positive points, this was pretty cheap. The final color was vibrant even over my dark hair and demonstrated the effect well. Also, it really did wash out of my hair immediately. That's as far as the positives go. Unfortunately, the negatives render the spray impractical for use. For starters, the nozzle is hyper-acute. It's impossible to get any kind of broad, even application on my hair. Instead I was left with sporadic blots of concentrated color that wouldn't blend. This leads to the second problem: it won't blend because it absolutely fried my hair. It became too brittle to get a comb through- essentially I couldn't touch my hair once the spray was in it. Moving on to the next problem, it comes off on EVERYTHING. I couldn't touch any of my costumes or props because any minor contact would result in the color rubbing off on all of it. I also couldn't interact with the furniture or let my head touch anything on set. Finally, I was left with what appeared to be burns on my hands by the end of the experience. I did use it in conjunction with other hair products, but I'd used them before with regularity and never had this reaction. I don't know what is in this spray but it left the skin on my hands looking sunburned and stinging under water after washing. A decent application of Corn Huskers lotion followed by a good coating of coconut oil kept it from blistering and it looks better today (the day after) but it still burns under warm water. Overall it accomplished the goal of confirming the color as a choice, but I will go with a better, gentler product for the actual show because this was a disaster from start to finish. ... show more

I appreciate the coverage of my 3/4 gray, 1/4 dark patch of hair. I learned to press the dispenser ever so lightly. Otherwise, your hair will experience what a tornado is like! Will order again. 🌪️ 😊

The color was great and it was easy to use. BUT, I used it on hair that was on front of my face, and the color transferred all over my face and hands. Since it was purple, half of my face looked bruised and awful. It was hidden by my hair for the most part but I couldn’t pull my hair back all night because I would look ridiculous. ... show more

Gets on every thing makes hair brittle unbrashable washed multiple times had to soak hair with conditioner just to brush and stile purple after washing again

Well, this does make your hair purple, which is the point of buying it, so three stars for doing what it is supposed to do. Unfortunately, putting it in your hair makes your hair feel gross. It's hard to explain this "gross" - sorta sticky, kinda clumpy, but that doesn't do it justice. I guess maybe it feels like ground chalk mixed with raw egg? It also makes your hands feel the same if you touch your hair, even hours after applying it. Even though it does make your hair as purple as you want it to be, I just cannot recommend. ... show more
