This blade was purchased as a replacement for the painted aluminum one that came with our mixer. It is stainless & much heavier. The paint tends to chip off on the older aluminum blades. Buy this & you're one & done. Pricey but well worth it. Oh, & it works!

While the enamel one eventually chips, this metal one does not and is high quality for using with the kitchen aid mixer. I use my KitchenAid a lot and this is extremely useful and durable.
