While I can't confirm if it is dishwasher safe (as I don't have one), I haven't had any problems with the base of this whisk the way that I have with the kitchenaid one (namely, the gray stuff that comes off of it) and I expect it'll do just fine in a dishwasher. Check your KitchenAid before purchasing this whisk attachment to make sure it fits your mixer. My newer KitchenAid is an Artisan and it did not fit in the Artisan correctly (as you can see from my photos). It's made more for the lift-stand type KitchenAid mixers. I took this with me to a Kohls and it fit perfectly in a lift-stand mixer they had there - perhaps now I need to buy one of those so my whish will fit LOL!! With that being said, this is a very well made whisk attachment. It fits snugly in the holder and is made of a nice and sturdy stainless steel material that appears that it will stand up to many washes and mixings. It's large compared to the standard whisk that arrives with the mixer and will help you mix, stir, and blend any concoction you can come up with! I ordered this KN211WW Stainless Steel 11-Wire Whip Attachment for KitchenAid Bowl-Lift Mixer for my new KitchenAid mixer. After many years, my tilt-head KitchenAid mixer seemed like it was living on borrowed time. I took advantage of a sale on a bowl-lift mixer at my local big box discount store. In addition to being a bowll-lift instead of a tilt head, the mixer also has a capacity of 7 quarts instead of 6 quarts like my old mixer. That meant that many of the attachments that I purchased for my old mixer would not fit the new one. For reasons that are unclear to me, my new mixer did not come equipped with a whisk. This whisk fits my mixer perfectly. It seems very well made. I tried it out with some egg whites and it does an excellent job at whipping them up into meringue. If you have a 7 quart, bowl-lift KitchenAid and you need a whisk, this one represents a good value. ... show more

This stainless steel replacement whip is perfect for our KitchenAid mixer. It fits nicely (just like the original) and is sturdy and durable. It's relatively easy to wash (just as easy as the original mixing whip). We do only hand-wash it though b/c the original manufacturer recommends that for their mixer, so we're following those instructions out of habit. It works well and mixes beautifully.
