This was awesome and ground venison as good or better than my dad's grinder he uses exclusively for venison burger. This is stainless steel! I was a bit concerned since the price was so low. It is defiantly not aluminum. Feels heavy and sturdy. Ground smoothly and quickly. I had purchased a plastic one a while back that seemed cheap and made a squeaking noise and got black stuff in my meat. I trust this to give me clean healthy burger. I put the old one in storage and needed one for my deer. So glad I purchased this one. Super easy to clean and store. takes up less than half the space of a standard grinder with motor. Makes grinding a breeze.

Fantastic to work with. The stainless steel was easy to clean, and came out perfectly clean from the top shelf of the dishwasher. My first and second time making sausage went off without a hitch, and I'm looking forward to my next batch. Remember to add a bit of pork belly to your sausage. Sausage with no fat comes out dry and unpleasant. Yes, I've been there and done that already. Add a lot of spices for a rich flavor.

This Rafbar Metal Food Grinder Attachment fit my Kitchenaid mixer perfectly and it includes everything you need to grind meat and stuff sausage casings. It also includes a number of plates and sausage stuffer tubes so you can get the grind coarseness and sausage circumference you want. Out of the box, I noticed that some of the components were super sturdy and like they'd work well and last a very long time. Fortunately, the centerpiece of those "sturdy" components is the main grinding attachment, including the 3 metal grinding plates, 2 blades and the auger/ring. The items that feel a bit lightweight are the tray, the plastic sausage stuffing adapter, the plunger and the cleaning brush. When using the grinder to grind chicken, it worked well and made relatively easy work of it. The lightweight tray didn't matter, and the plunger was never pushed beyond its capabilities. I was completely satisfied with the results. Cleanup is a messy job after grinding meat or making sausage. After getting the biggest pieces out with your hands, you have to rely on the cleaning brush, and this is where I felt a bigger and more robust brush would've been a great improvement over the one included with this kit. When making sausage, this was where the lightweight plate was an issue. The vacuum created when using the plunger to push the ground meat through the grinder/sausage maker, the plate (with all the meat on it) detached from the grinder. The lightweight plunger seemed to create more vacuum and got stuck in the ground meat quite a bit. Perhaps if it were shaped a bit differently and had more mass, this vacuum issue wouldn't happen as often as it did. But, again, this only happened when making sausage - not grinding the meat. Overall, I'm happy with this Rafbar Metal Food Grinder Attachment. It's not perfect, but it's mostly well made and will get the job done.

Took a mediocre chuck roast and grill hamburgers that the wife and I loved. The device removed tough cartilage I missed in trimming and homogenized the fat [flavor]. Plenty of power from the KitchenAid and dishwasher easy. Great device I am sure will find lots of use.
