we used this for mixing snow cone syrups in a 1 gallon jug. 10 cups of sugar and just a little water. this was a back saver compared to shaking the jugs like we did before.

Although the dimensions (in mm) are on the item label (60x8x400mm) they are not listed in the description. The mixing "paddle" is about 2.5", and overall length of about 16", with hexagonal shaft about 3/8". This will definitely work for 1-3 gallon containers. However, a 5 gallon container may give it a run for its money depending on viscosity. The steel seems to be a 300 series stainless with low magnetic properties. I don't have a laser spectrum analyzer to correctly determine its "real" composition (yes, I'm mocking the idiots that don't know materials science, but speak loudly anyway). The "paddle" is stamped and appears to be firmly welded to the shaft. It appears to be somewhat polished to a matte finish after fabrication. It does have several spots that can trap solids if not washed carefully. Overall, I thought it would be larger given the 5 gallon rated capacity (can't rely on Amazon Package Size Description at all), but it will meet my needs of mixing 4-5 gallons of specialty lemonade or tallow soap as required. If it rusts in the dishwasher or breaks easily I will update. ... show more

    • Works as Intended; Metal Splinters
It appears that - for a food grade product - it's not, at least, given a basic wash by the manufacturer. Mine still had lubricant and metal splinters all over it, as if it came right off the tooling equipment, without so much as a good rinsing. I ended up with two metal splinters in my hand, while pulling it out of the shipping box (one required tweezers to get out). I've used paint mixers that were more sterile than this. To make sure it was properly clean, I ended up using high grit sand paper, followed by a magic eraser, followed by a handwash, followed by a cycle in the dishwasher. Despite the initial issue, it still works well in mixing my large vats of liquids. It's saved me time not having to use a blender or stand mixer. ... show more

    • Did not fit on home drill
It was purchased to mix large quantity batters. It was advertised to fit any drill but it does not fit my home drill. I had to break the plastic piece off to fit the drill. Hopefully, it will work when I need it.
