so far this has worked out well for us! My only complaint is there is not an "On/Off" switch and if you got the button when putting it away, you just need to allow it to "run its course" Otherwise it has been helpful for arthritic hands!

They don’t make products like they use to. Growing up we had the same can opener for 20 years and never had an issue. Made to last… most things now break fast and your left buying another. I was tired breaking every can opener I got so I went with what I know what works. My mother had the first version and it always worked for her so I decided to do the same. Always makes the cut…leaves a smooth rim so you don’t cut yourself and takes Al the work out of opening the can. Good product….just wish it was a little cheaper. I can’t complain that much because it does what it says. Worth it ... show more

    • this thing actually works
i purchased this after reading almost all the reviews, good and bad ones, and realized that this thing actually works very good; it cut smooth and effortless; all you need to do is follow the instructions: place it properly to start cutting, stop it when has done 360 deg rotation and use the opposite end hook to remove the lid if is not coming out by it self ( on small cans the lid comes out easily with the magnet, on larger cans one needs to use the hook). One of the reviews I read was correct: at some point if you experience that not cutting anymore you will need to change the batteries.     • I've never known such luxury.
Ive been using a hand crank can opener my entire adult life. After the umpteenth one that broke in our household, i searched for an easier option. The only electric ones ive seen before are ones that sit on the counter; takes up too much room. Came across all the reviews on this one and didnt disappoint! Just pop it on the can and let it do the magic. Then to take the lid off there is a little latch so you can pick it up without cutting your finger. AMAZING. ... show more

One of the best that I have tried but boy, it runs loud that I have resorted to use the manual opener if late in the evening and it takes 4 or 6 AA batteries. That is a lot.

In the last year or so the arthritis in my dominant hand has gotten quite bothersome, so when my hand crank can opener stop gripping and turning, I went for one of these. So far I love it. stores neatly away, so no counter space surrendered either. I wasn't sure about not having an auto shut-off. But I place it at 9 o'clock every time I press go, so I know when it's made a full rotation to press stop. Also, you can hear a change in sound when it completes a rotation. ... show more

    • You have the keep fiddling with it to find the secret too how it works
The product needs to have a bit more CNN information when us dummies get CNN one. Once I realized that it only works when you lay it across the top of the can and make sure that the stamping set of teeth are engaged onto the top lip of the can it works flawlessly. I’ve had a stroke and do to my left hand lacy of dexterity I can no longer use a normal can open that I had used for years BUT with this it’s not only safer than a normal car open but it’s a dream to use as well. I don’t have any ties to the mfg BUT I STRONGLY RECOMED this product and if anyone loves it and takes it I’ll at once buy another one just like it. Wayne ... show more
