We had been struggling with an electric kitchen can opener for years. Same problems we all face. Hard to get it started, the magnet never really worked good enough so we had to use a knife to get the lid off, and it took up too much space on the counter top. The Kitchen Mama is so simple it and easy to use we're kicking our selves for not getting one sooner. Simple place it on the top of the can and press the button. No need to hold the can just watch it go around the can until it does a 360 then press the button again. The first time we used it we thought it didn't work cause we could not see any of the contents of the can spilling out like you see on a conventional opener. Much to our surprise it cut the top off so clean it was hard to see were it cut. No rough edges, works every time and slips right into a draw when you're not using it. Thanks for making can opening a breeze. If there was one thing I'd change it would be the speed as it's a little slow, but that's a small price to pay for the convenience. Great item! ... show more

I was skeptical but this worked like a charm. So easy to use too. Place it on top of the can, push the button, walk away to do other things in the kitchen while it’s completing the task, and BOOM! It’s done. I even figured out how to seamlessly remove lids after they’ve been cut despite the technique not being shown in the video or mentioned in the packaging. Personally, I don’t know that I love the aesthetics of the gadget but that’s just me being picky. I will say, however, the design is super smart because it fits easily in a drawer for storage. I do hope it holds up to long term use. One thing I would find beneficial is an automatic off feature. Once it’s made a full circle around the can it does not shut off, it continues to go around until you push the button to turn it off. Otherwise, I highly recommend this handy little gadget. It’s a great price point. It’ll definitely save you valuable time in the kitchen and is a lifesaver for anyone that has difficulty with the old school hand crank can openers. ... show more

Works perfectly most of the time. Some cans need multiple tries to connect. Takes up a lot less space in the kitchen and doesn't need to be near an electrical outlet. Very Handy. I have a torn tendon in my wrist and this gadget makes it easier to open cans.

UPDATE: I AM AMMENDING MY REVIEW FOR KITCHEN MAMA CAN OPENER FROM 1 STAR TO 5 because when I wrote it my opener had stopped working after a couple of months. I loved this opener and was so disappointed. It dawned on me after a few days to contact the seller and see if there was a warranty. They promptly answered and asked for some easy info about the malfunction and promptly sent a new one which I recieved in 2 days! Their customer service was Awesome!! Therefore I felt I had to update my review and let people know they stand behind their product. Thank you Kitchen Mama for great customer service! When I first got this can opener I was thrilled not to have one more small appliance sitting on my counter. I ignored other reviews that said it didn't open the cans shortly after they purchased. Well, mine worked perfect for about 15 (at most) cans. I don't eat a lot of canned goods but do have trouble with my hands due to some surgery which is why I bought this. I dont know what went wrong but all of a sudden it just won't open even standard fruit or vegetable cans. It's past my return window because as I said I don't eat alot of canned food. So now I have a paper weight. Do yourself a favor no matter how appealing, for a variety of reasons, it may be. Don't buy it. ... show more

I love this little can opener. I bought it to replace my plug-in opener when it died. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a plug-in again! This is super easy to use: just set it on top of the can, press the button, and let it do its thing. Once it’s made its way all the way around, press the button again to turn it off. The result is a smooth cut lid that’s pretty easy to lift off. The edges aren’t as sharp as a regular can opener would leave it (although, I still wouldn’t run my fingers along it). I wish it was rechargeable, but that’s really my only criticism. ... show more

Had quite a few can openers over the years but this one tops them all. Easy to operate and makes a clean cut on the side bottom of rim. No sharp edges from the lid. Had my doubts since its battery operated but its ease and power has proven itself time and time again.

This is the best can opener I have ever owned. So easy to use and easy to gently wipe off after each use. The lids are cut off below instead of inside the rim and they just pop off. The opener attaches very easily to the can and it just buzzes around the can on it's own. When it begins to stop and is back to the starting place, you just push the button again. So simple! I bought this in Feb of 2022 and it is still going strong. In fact, I just now (Dec 2023) changed the batteries for the first time! Takes 4 AA batteries and the battery compartment is a snap (pun) to remove. I do not think you will regret this purchase. ... show more
