  • Impressive for the price.
Color: Purple Passion
Color: purple passion "As a licensed cosmetologist, I've worked with many semi-permanent color lines over the years, and this is one I continue to repurchase. The purple passion which is a deeper purple then Vivid Violet delivers beautiful, vibrant results on pre-lightened hair and applies evenly from root to end. I appreciate that it deposits rich color while leaving the hair feeling soft and conditioned. The color fades gradually and remains attractive throughout the fading process. For the price point, the performance is impressive, and it's a great option for anyone looking for a bold purple shade ... show more

  • Amazing beautiful color without destroying your hair
Color: Cherry Bomb
I love this this brand!! I have been using kiss tontations for 4 yrs now Ive done multiple colors and I love it sometimes you may have to do a second dye/tint session to get desired outcome BUT the stuff isnt damaging your hair and i love most of all after so long it pretty much all washes out. Im not sure if you could use it completely without any. Bleaching or dying if your hair. I have medium/dark brown hair naturally and i was very religiously dying my hair a dark blonde amd hi lighting it so i was able to just apply to my hair id get blonde dye to lighten any hair growth when to much dark hairs showing and ive just continued using the tints. I personally when my colors fading enough just used a black charcoal body scrub in my hair and scrubbed it well and rinsed a few times pretty much had the color washed out enough k could apply my next color with no issues. I did a darker blue then lighter more neon like blue and green and then i went to darker purple and to green and then the red ... show more

  • Color: Rose gold
Color: Rose Gold
#1. The first time I used this, it was too dark and I didn't like it. #2. I have reddish hair. I bleached it with Manic Panic Blue Lightning about 3 times, but it wasnt super light. Then I put some Manic Panic Virgin Snow toner on it for 25 minutes. Much to my surprise, it came out quite white, kind of a metallic chrome, very blah. So I needed color. I mixed some of this stuff (which, unlike Manic Panic, is semi-permanent, so I have to be careful), about 3 or 4 Tbp and added maybe 3 teaspoons of pastel-sizer. Then I glopped it on my hair, mixed it around, combed it through and left it for 20 minutes. It came out pleasantly rosy golden. Anyway, I like it. I'm going to try to leave a photo. Note: I only color the top front of my hair, just so I have shiny forelocks. ... show more

  • Not vibrant color
Color: African Violet
I thought I would try a different brand, but I'll stick to the other brand, because it barely put any color in my hair. What was there washed out very quickly

  • At this price, who can pass this up?
Color: Blue Moonlight
I'm not posting a picture of myself because I don't like photos. I am so tired of reading hair color reviews from people who obviously don't understand the color wheel and don't understand how to use semi permanent color. I bleached my hair. It was previously Enchanted Forest by Manic Panic, great color but bleeds everywhere and forever. I was looking for a change so I tried this. How could I not? It's as cheap or cheaper than Adore and I really like Adore. After the bleach my hair was a pale yellow and nearly white. I shampoo several times to make sure the bleach is out and I do not condition my hair. It will stop the dye from adhering to your hair. This Kiss stuff is exactly how I like my hair dye, runny and not globby. I just think I get better coverage with a thinner liquid. I love the bottle! I don't have to empty it into a bottle of my own, which is super nice and less clean up. The hair dye itself smells nice. It's a little bit more perfumey than I like, but it's okay. I was worried it wasn't going to cover well. I put a shower cap on and left it for about 2 hours. I normally leave semi permanent dye in 3 to 6 hours, but I was in a rush. When I went to rinse my head hardly any dye came out. It came off my skin very easily and I was like uh oh. I got more worried about it's staying power. The next day I washed my hair with sulfate free shampoo and I couldn't believe how little dye came out compared to the stuff I was using before. When I touch my hair the dye doesn't come off on my hands. I went to bed with my hair wet and my lavender colored pillowcase has NO DYE on it! I am impressed. The color I tried first was Sapphire. I'm going to try the moonlight blue next. I will definitely be buying more of this stuff. Oh yeah, the other thing is getting that extra 1oz is nice since most hair dyes are in the 3oz to 4oz range. ... show more

  • Yes
It is ORANGE! Neon Orange is an understatement 😂 I got this to counteract another color per the color scale. And it did a job too well. I didn’t even leave it on for the recommended time. And woah! It was orange. Very beautiful orange just wasn’t what I was going for. When I tried to use the red I was going for over it. Turned it to a ginger .. a very deep orange toned red ginger. If you want a strong color that’s easy and quick to apply. 10/10 recommend. (Any issues I had were 10000% user error) 🙃 ... show more

  • Not taking on my hair
Color: Gunmetal Gray
I used Oops! To pull the brown dye out of my hair, leaving it a lighter golden brown. I have left this stuff on a long time, and even used heat to try and bake it into my damaged hair. I can’t see any difference, not even toning down the golden. I was trying to blend in my dyed hair to the natural gunmetal grey growing in at my roots, after making the possibly ill-advised choice to go natural. Purple shampoo has done much more to tone my hair and get closer to the desired effect - but I still am giving up and going in to chop off my hair really short, instead of wasting more money trying to blend. I wish I had made an initial decision to spend $200 on professional grey highlights to blend the transition, because now I’m somewhere near $100 on diy products trying to go the inexpensive route, with mostly poor results. This was the first one I tried, having prepared with the Oops! To lighten/weaken first for better absorption - and nope. I’m honestly not sure how dark this is even supposed to get - I was hoping it was an ashy light black, or ashy dark grey . . . The dye itself looks dark on my head when processing. But no, I can’t see any change, except wasted time (hour? Left it on a LONG time) and wasted money. If you’re going to try this, maybe bleach your hair, or start with blonde? Best of luck, especially to my grey-transitioning sisters. Also, I wish I hadn’t removed the prior brown dye with Oops first, it’s made the transition line much more apparent, and the dark grey products (like this) it was preparing for haven’t taken at all. Scissors it is. ... show more

  • Hair Color That's Worth a Try.
Color: Pink Mania
I received a new bottle of this hair color with a prominent claim purporting, "Consumer's Choice #1 *Focus group result", as well as "Lasts up to 30 shampoos". What exactly do these vague claims mean? Does it mean that this hair color will hold its initial color and be bold and vibrant until the 31st shampoo? Does it mean that the color will hold, but fade until it is finally as faded as it will get at the 31st shampoo? Nowhere can I find any information that elucidates this claim or what exactly they mean by it. The other claim about this being a #1 consumer's choice has an asterisk which leads to the back of the bottle and says, "Based on internal consumer testing of 30 people for long lasting and intent to purchase over 4 weeks". Ok, so a group of 30 people that you internally tested claimed they would intend to purchase this over 4 weeks? And what does testing of 30 people for long lasting mean? As with this claim, I can find no further clarifying information. This bottle also claims it's a new formula, but doesn't elaborate on what is NEW about the formula. Where's the evidence this color lasts up to 30 shampoos, and where can I find any information about all of these things that explains what they claim?? What I can tell you from my own personal experience with using this dye is that it absolutely WILL fade after your first wash, not to an extreme degree, but it will be noticeable. I've included photos of my hair dyed with Pink Mania, Lime Light, Atomic Pink, Cyan, Orchid, Hawaiian Fire and Vivid Violet. The photos are unedited and not photoshopped. The photos of my hair in the first two collages are dyed with Pink Mania immediately after I initially dyed my hair and dried it. It looked like how I would expect it to after weeks of multiple washes; which is faded. It was nowhere near as vibrant as it looked when the dye was on, or in the swatch. I saturated my hair in the dye, left it on for at least 30 minutes each time and even dyed it repeatedly to try to get it to show up with a more bold color. It didn't help. The color was patchy in areas and didn't take in spots (not sure if this was due to the dye or my hair, but I bleached my hair pretty blonde). I wouldn't necessarily mind the color if I were going for a cotton candy, almost pastel color but I was expecting what the swatch was. Someone commented on my hair and said they liked the "peach color". So I would say that if you want a lighter, pastel-ish pink, then this dye is for you. My current hair color is Vivid Violet, and while this color is still a nice color, the Violet did NOT turn out at all. This color is second to how disappointing Pink Mania was, in that the color did not take in places, or show up how it should have. In the photo I posted, I circled the very front top part of my hair that actually came out violet, whereas the rest of the color was more of a grape color and if you look at the top of my head you can see how it's much lighter in the upper left area and underneath. Amazon refunded me for this Pink Mania because I was not satisfied with it, but honestly this company should've stepped up and offered me a refund or a replacement for it. So far I've dyed my hair with 8 of their dyes. All of them had a more bold, vibrant color but in my opinion, Pink Mania was disappointing in how it turned out, and while Vivid Violet was a nice color, it was not violet except in one small patch. I would say that for the most part, the dyes are pretty good. They're bright and colorful and for the price, they're worth trying out. They should include photos of real-life models that have their hair dyed the specific color they're selling so people can see what it really looks like. Thankfully there are reviewers here who have done that so you can try to get a sense of what it will look like. If you are going for the brightest, boldest color, make sure that you get the highest level bleach and developer and lighten your hair as much as possible. Use a toner to get rid of any yellow or orange from bleaching it. Otherwise the dye won't show up the same color and it will look faded and the color will be off. Also, remember when looking at the hair dye swatches and photos of the hair color, they won't be exactly the same in real life. The device you're using to look at the color on is going to alter the color somewhat, as well as the photos taken of the hair color i.e., whether the photo was taken indoors without light, indoors with a flash, outdoors in direct sunlight, etc., and whether the photo was photoshopped or edited, and what color the person's hair was lightened to (if at all) when they dyed their hair. ... show more
