These are the cheapest J hooks for a 3x3 rack I could find. They work. They fit a standard barbell well, but are a bit shallow for my multigrip bar. They use a rubber sticker inside to prevent metal on metal contact and have a screwed on rubber inside the cup also. I'm happy with the purchase, just know they're a bit shallow and the rubber may wear down over time ... show more

Owned for a year. Have a cap brand free standing pull up bar that I put these into. Have put a 45lb Olympic barbell with 160lbs of plates on it (205lbs total) and it’s been rock solid. They’re a nice welded metal.

    • Good upgrade over cheap J hooks

My squat rack is cheap, less than $100. It came with terrible, all-metal J hooks. There are also few aftermarket options due to the 1/2" hole size. So these are literally only the option, and they do a pretty good job. But they also cost 1/3 as much as the entire squat rack itself. The build quality is very good. But it loses a star for being so small/short. As other reviews have mentioned, they are quite stubby so it doesn't give you a huge target for re-racking the barbell. The soft rubber also feels nice, but isn't a great choice for a product like this. It's too soft to stand up against heavy use. The knurling on my bar is already starting to chew it up, and I don't expect they'll last terribly long. ... show more

Huge upgrade to the default cap j-hooks that came with my green cap weight rack, model FM-905Q. It racks much quieter now and more securely. Just be careful when lifting so as to not accidentally push the weights off the j-hooks inadvertently, since the lips are shorter than the default ones on the ends. As pictured, you can see the thicker metal and differences between the cap one (thinner metal) and the Kipika ones. Safe lifting and be careful! ... show more

The j-hooks seem to be made of quality steel. The steel hook is entirely covered providing good protection for your bar. Product arrived with four 3M rubber stickers about 2mm thick to provide a tighter fit between various brand uprights - REP vs Rogue, etc. Will update review if material or integrity degrade quickly.
