  • Euphoria
Scrolling through this hard drive is a euphoric experience. It has worked flawlessly for me so far. I use it with a brand new $700 mini pc with pretty good specs. It is overwhelming to have the what seems like the entire history of gaming at your fingertips. The only small problem I noticed is that about 1% of the time the menu will show the title of a game but the accompanying screenshot will be from a different game. I’ll update if I encounter any serious glitches, but none so far. UPDATE: The many Doom wads on this hard drive would not run. I think the main iwads are not in the right folder. I solved this by copying and pasting the wads into my gog version of Doom and play them there. ... show more

  • Mid selection of games and bad hardware
A hard drive only worked for one day and then it stopped working. All the games were really laggy and was missing a lot of the games that I saw reveres put in their videos. Very disappointed

  • No GRAN TURISMO?!?!?!
Look I wanna start by saying that this thing is awesome it has a ton of games, nearly everything you could ever want, but I will say I was incredibly disappointed to find it doesn’t have Gran Turismo. ANY OF THEM!!! Okay well it does have Gran Turismo PSP, but come on… 1-4 at least should be here! They were some of the best selling games of their generation! I was looking very forward to playing GT1&2 on this but nope, it’s not there. Outside of this gigantic fault of mass proportions, the unit is awesome and has just about anything else you could want. I was disappointed to see that the Xbox collection is only Xbox magazine and not Xbox so there’s no Xbox games here unless I’m blind. Still worth the money. ... show more

  • Loaded down and it works!
This is a curated set using hyperspin, much like what you see with arcade punks. It is filled up with just about any system you can imagine and very little duplicates. I got it mainly for the collection but it functions well independently.

  • Easy to Use!
This was easy to setup and use! I have had a few of these types of drives in the past and it was the easiest to use and required the least amount of setup. It is not 100% free of issues, there were some emulators I had to set up the controls on manually, so depending on the game type there may be some manual work to be done. ... show more

  • Problems to Expect with this HDD
I have had it for a few weeks now. With 400 emulators I have only begun to scratch the surface. Here are problems I have found so far: Sega Dreamcast: Will not play any game at all. Just crashes Retroarch Atomiswave: No controls and no way to get into retroarch as Atomiswave uses a standalone Flycast emulator. When trying to configure controls this way, half the screen is not visible making it impossible to configure buttons Sega Genesis: No controls Some Mame games have awful diagonal grey lines across the screen. Each games controls must be configured by pressing tab key when in game Xenia Xbox 360 Emulator has a slight stutter that makes games unplayable. I have emulated PS5, PS4, PS3 and PS2 and they all play fine The only thing I had to install on my gaming computer was the true type fonts file. After doing that the games would play Various games that wont start here and there. I will keep adding to this review as I learn more Update 8/28/2024: I got a new gaming pc and all the games run fine after installing the font file. I still can't get any of the Cruise'n (like Cruis'n USA) games to play. All emulators run fine now with no stutter. What does happen (and is very annoying) is when the hard drive has to load the next chunk of data. It will make a loud noise and the game you are playing freezes for a few seconds. It doesn't happen enough to kill the experience, but is still annoying. It may happen a few times in a half hour or 1 hour. It happens with all emulators. It seems to be a hardware problem. I'm surprised because it did say it was a 7200 rpm hard drive with USB 3.0. I figured this would make it fast, but it still stutters here and there ... show more

  • Really bad..buy something else
I followed all instructions, loaded on a newly imaged windows 11 machine w i7 and 16gb ram. Lots of games don't load at all. Others have no sound. And then there's the fact that there are 191 malicious files found with Malwarebytes. I don't know if other versions of this drive actually work, but I returned this one. Maybe try the one that lists other front ends in addition to hyperspin. Also very disappointing that I have to wait over 2 weeks for Amazon to receive this piece of junk before receiving a refund. ... show more

  • Worth it
I was thinking about this for a while and after taking a chance on it, it was well worth it. There are so many games on it, I will be busy playing all the games for a long long time. If you are a PC gamer this drive is a must buy.
