Description

Incredible speeds plus rock-solid reliability - Kingston's A400 solid-state drive dramatically improves the responsiveness of your existing system with incredible boot, loading and file transfer times compared to mechanical hard drives. Powered by a latest gen controller for read and write speeds up to 500MB/s and 450MB/s, this SSD is 10x faster than a traditional hard drive for higher performance, ultra-responsive multi-tasking and an overall faster system. Also more reliable and durable than a hard drive, A400 is built with Flash memory. There are no moving parts, making it less likely to fail than a mechanical hard drive. It's also cooler and quieter, and its shock and vibration resistance makes it ideal for notebooks and other mobile computing devices. A400 is available in multiple capacities from 120GB-480GB to give you all the space you need for applications, videos, photos and other important documents. You can also replace your hard drive or a smaller SSD with a drive big enough to hold all your files. Backwards compatibility to SATA Rev. 2.0 (3Gb/s) Product contains drive only; cloning software not included. The Vibration operating of this product is 2.17G Peak (7–800Hz) and the Vibration non-operating of this product is 20G Peak (10–2000Hz).

  • This SSD has become my music production work horse.
Capacity: 240 GB Style: SATA3 Pattern Name: Internal SSD
This drive is fast. I use it as an external drive to host my music production files and run them directly off of the drive using a SATA to USB C connection. The speeds are as advertised and the storage capacity fills to right near maximum theoretical capacity which is hard to find in a lot of drives. I would not suggest this specific drive as a primary storage device for internal usage under most use cases. The drive is 256GB which is about what most people have on their phone. Game files, music files, photos, texts, phone backups, documents, and other clutter will fill this device to its capacity in no time. If you are looking for a primary internal drive, I highly suggest this brand but seek the higher storage option variant. ... show more

  • Working great, thus far!
Capacity: 480 GB Style: SATA3 Pattern Name: Internal SSD
I have a legacy HP laptop, over 10 years old, that was struggling 😪 under windows 10. I use this laptop as surveillance for my IP cameras when I'm in the garage. I rarely use it because I have other better systems in my network. I only use it when somebody triggers my cams while I'm in the garage for a quick check. The laptop is now so responsive after installation of this relatively inexpensive, less than $30.00, Kingston SSD. Life is great👍. This is a great inexpensive upgrade if you have an old PC with a regular HD that's taking forever to boot/start applications... Moreover, the stats <see pic> for this disk rivals my more expensive Samsung SSD 870 EVO 500gb & ScanDisk Extreme. Time will tell if it lasts as long as the premium brands because those SSD's are work horses. They have yet to fail after several years of usage. I used Acronis True-Image 2021 for the data transfer to the new drive. It makes it so easy to upgrade to a new disk. Upgrading to a SSD may breathe new life into that old PC. ... show more

  • 240 gb for $20 isn't that bad.
Capacity: 240 GB Style: SATA3 Pattern Name: Internal SSD
Amazon delivered this ssd in a bag inside of a box and the ssd looked to be smashed by the plugins. I went ahead and still plugged it in to see if it'd still work cause I don't like having to return things and wait again and fortunately enough it worked. Using it right now actually. Hopefully this ssd lasts a while tho! So far so good and once again, can't beat the price.. Amazon just needs to be careful about packaging. Put it in a small box next time. Someone else might not be so lucky as me. ... show more

  • a winner for the price.
Capacity: 480 GB Style: SATA3 Pattern Name: Internal SSD
This SSD is by no way a gaming device... if your machine doesn't have m.2 slots though, it's probably not a gaming machine. I got this to replace the HDD on my mom's laptop with something that doesn't take a year to boot windows... I legitimately sped up her boot sixty times faster than the original hard drive... but some of that might have been a crapped-up OS... still it was much-much faster than a full reinstall. $40 made her computer feel like a brand-new machine to her. I would definitely recommend this as an upgrade for anyone who has an older laptop that they use for light duty applications like office and email. I have used a few of these on other older computers as well. Price to performance increase is worth it as long as the rest of your hardware is in good shape. If you are using one of these in a desktop type PC, then keep and reformat the old HDD as a data drive and just use the SSD for software... If you are upgrading a laptop, spend a couple more dollars for an inexpensive USB case for the old drive to use for backups. :) ... show more

  • Cheap, fast, reliable... What's not to like?
Capacity: 120 GB Style: SATA3 Pattern Name: Internal SSD
I've been using these to bring old desktops back to life as PLEX media servers. Replace the old hard drive with these SSD drives, max out the ram by cannibalizing from other desktops, and install a fresh copy of windows 2019; you'll be amazed how responsive the system becomes. I've used these in multiple systems over the last 2 years, no issues with any of them in production. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ... show more

  • Excellent price/performance ratio
Capacity: 480 GB Style: SATA3 Pattern Name: Internal SSD
I have upgraded many laptops and desktops with these and the results are excellent with a caveat. IF you have a decent processor (at least 2 cores min) and 4 GB of ram minimum you will see good results upgrading from an old HDD. If you have a laptop with an I5 or I7 (or AMD equivalent) CPU and 8 GB's of ram or more you will see outstanding results. Laptops booting to the desktop in 20 sec is not unusual. Well worth the upgrade especially at the current price of $29. Also I've done clones and fresh installs with excellent results as well. ... show more

  • Super SSD for Raspberry Pi Drive
Capacity: 240 GB Style: SATA3 Pattern Name: Internal SSD
I wanted memory card more dependable for my Raspberry Pi 4 8GB workstation. I found this Kingston SSD drive for a good price and its reliability. It was very easy to install the Pi OS. I've had it running my workstation for some time now with no issues. It was easy to configure and and fits nicely under my Raspberry Pi case. I found a cable for it using USB-A 3. Best part is the storage where I can store my documents and games. The drive is so light weight and very thin. ... show more

  • So far so good!
Capacity: 480 GB Style: SATA3 Pattern Name: Internal SSD
I got the 480GB because I just wanted hands on experience with installing a new hard drive. This was my first time installing an SSD and now I will never go back to HDD. Windows 10 installed super fast. My restart time can't be more than 10-15 seconds. It's lightning fast for general programs. As far as gaming, I have an old HP with Intel i5-2400. Far from a gaming machine but I was able to gain 5-10 FPS. I recommend and will purchase again. ... show more
