Bought two folding ebikes recently and unfortunately they didn't fit in the space reserved for them. So, with a week before the first camping trip we had to scramble to find a suitable carrier that covered all the bases: 1. 2 inch receiver 2. 4" tire slots 3. 120 lb capacity 4. in stock with delivery in less than a week 5. 4+ star reviews Luckily this one was just about the only carrier that met all criteria. I can find no faults with it, other than one observation. First, understand that this is built to last. It is steel, not aluminum. The engineering is excellent, as is the construction. The packaging and instructions are excellent; bags of parts are lettered and these letters are referenced in the instructions so you don't have to wonder. Good drawings of the assembly process. Made in Taiwan, not China, so English is pretty clear. All necessary tools included. Assembly was fast and easy. The only mystery at first for me was how to lock the shorter (bottom) bike holder. You don't insert the key and turn it, you just insert it and then turn the knob and it locks. The instructions aren't really clear. I turned it the first time and deformed the key, but was able to reform it by turning it back the opposite way. Arrived a day before it was supposed to (ordered on Sunday and received on Wednesday). Excellent external packaging and internal blocking. Looks great and is definitely heavy duty. The anti-wobble mechanism works very well. Took it on a 400 mile round trip camping adventure over all kinds of roads. It held up great. Yes, you can tilt it backwards when loaded...see their video! But realize that if you have 120 pounds of bikes on it you have to be strong enough to be able to push it back up. It isn't a hydraulic mechanism; it is a simple notched release and catch operated by a lever. When loading it, I dropped it back for the inner bike, then once the tires were in the slots I put it back to 90 degrees and finished securing it. The outer bike can be set in without tilting. The foam-covered bike folders adjust easily and hold the ebike frame well, even tho the bike frame is a fat rectangle (holds the big battery) where they meet. The velcro straps are more than big enough for 4" fat tires. And they hold amazingly well... the first time I took the outer bike off one velcro strap happened to flop over on itself a little and I could not pull the bike free! Between the bike holders and the velcro your bikes aren't going to move. The only issue I've seen after the one trip is the foam holders wore through a bit where they met the frame. I'm sure this is because they are rounded and the frame is rectangle. I'm not concerned; the bikes were not damaged, but I am sure over time they would wear through enough to scrape the paint off the bikes. I'm just going to wrap some duct tape around damaged foam and maybe place a old washcloth between the foam and the frame. Other than that small issue, I highly recommend this carrier! ... show more

Assembly was a breeze with well-written instructions (a rarity these days) and easily-identfied hardware “packs”. The rack is sturdy and functional. Wobbling not a problem. Easy to load and unload one or two mountain bikes. I use a locking cable to help prevent theft of bikes and rack.

Great bike rack! I was looking for a four bike platform hitch mounted rack, and this fit the bill. I have traveled three times with it for over 60 miles each time on the highway, and it is doing great. The bikes stay firmly secured and there is very little wobble due to the locking mechanism on the hitch. I like how it folds up when not in use. I love how it locks the bikes. It is big and as expected hangs way out beyond my bumper. While it has the ability to tilt down to open the hatch of my outback, I couldn’t imagine lowering it with it loaded unless it was absolutely necessary. It would simply be too heavy. The rack was not terribly difficult to assemble but the box it arrives in is very heavy and difficult to move. We had difficulty getting it from our front door to the garage when it arrived. (Hint: get it delivered to the spot where you are going to assemble it.) There are a few improvements I would like to see on it. 1. Wrench- they give you a wrench to tighten the rack to the hitch, but it would be great to have a place on/inside the rack to store the wrench. I am afraid that I am going to misplace it. 2. Storage - this is the reason I only give it 4 stars. The unit is very heavy and hard to store. It takes up too much room on the floor of my garage, so I decided to hang it up. I used gutter screws (it’s what I had on hand) and drilled them into the studs of my garage. I had to learn where to hang it so that it was balanced and didn’t scratch up the rack. It was a challenge but I found a solution that worked for me. (See pics) I have bought a bottle of clear lubricant/grease to make it easier to slide and maneuver the vertical stabilizers/hooks to the bike. Great rack for the money.
