I love this brand of hair colour, and I have been using it for years, because of how shiny it makes my hair [Sorry for the olde photo that shows my hair BEFORE I dyed it]. WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS KIT IS: ▪︎I leave my workspace while using it much less messy because the foam is so spill/splatter proof, as opposed to a liquid dye of other brands. If I do get a random spot of the dye anywhere, I just use a spot of Dawn on it asap and then no worries. ▪︎I've got long hair, so I use the entire contents, and I've got some noticeable grey hair, so I leave it on for the full 30 min. that the instructions say to. ▪︎After you have applied the foam, be sure to not skip lathering all of it up close on your scalp with your hands and fingers as well as the lengths of your hair, this way, you get full and uniform coverage and you've got a better chance of leaving no obvious undyed patches. Super important ! ▪︎It also has no strong chemical odor that can potentially cause you to tip over into an unconscious coma. ▪︎If it's your 1st time using it, the foam will not dispense from the bottle if you try to depress the black nozzle on the top of the bottle. You have got to very SLOWLY and SOFTLY turn the bottle upside down and then right side up for no more than 5 times. No fast, vigorous shaking of the bottle. That may be why some women are getting just liquid instead of the foam, IDK. Direct that question to John Frieda's cust. service. ▪︎Squeeze the MIDDLE of the see•through part of the bottle in order to render the foam. So NO fast, vigorous shaking and squeeze it from the CENTRE of the see through bottle, just like the instructions explain. ▪︎As long as you follow the instructions, you'll be fine. The shine payoff of this brand is what puts it above and beyond other home colouring kits. If you do not get the shine payoff after using it, maybe a previous process/product that is still in your hair is not letting the dye absorb uniformly or treat your hair evenly ? IDK, ASK YOUR HAIR STYLIST. ▪︎For my own hair, the shine does not remain in my hair for the full 6-8 weeks that the colour lasts, but it does leave my hair shiny for atleast 3-4 weeks. ▪︎Don't forget to use the after care conditioning tube, immediately after dying and then once a week for maintenance. I trust this vendor to get things right, and I would not hesitate to purchase from them again ! I hope anyone reading this will get the same experience as I do !

I've been using this product since I was in my 20s when I started to notice a few grays. I also just loved the color of this dye instead of my boring jet black hair. I used to be asked if my hair color was my natural hair color because it's a beautiful chocolate shade that looks natural, but has a beautiful sheen when the sun shines on it. I noticed that my hair sheds less with this product and my hair seems to be healthier and less damaged as well. I credit it to the gentleness of the foam. It also has less of a strong ammonia smell although it still does have it. I make a lot less mess with the foam too. The foam dye isn't splashed onto every random wall in the bathroom, because it foams instead of "farts dye onto your hair and walls". The biggest pro is that this is easier to use than your regular dye-at-home job because it foams and has a better coverage. There's less chance of you missing a spot with the foam. I have super thick, straight, black hair. I thought this wouldn't work with my black hair, but surprisingly it does. It's not super obvious color on my hair, but I don't want it to be. I want it to look like it could be my natural hair color. I've been dying my hair since I was a teenager and the regular dyes were a bit more work. You have to make sure you do it correctly with a regular dye otherwise you might miss a spot. I also used to have long hair so I used to need at least 2 boxes with regular dyes. This product makes it possible to use only 1 box and have my whole head colored. Now I'm 33 and I can no longer deny I have premature graying. I have to dye my hair now or I'd look 50 years beautiful. Nothing wrong with 50, I just want to enjoy my 30s as I'm supposed to. After all, we are only 30s for a few years and never again. A lot of my hair from the sides of my head is now white and I have to dye my hair about every 2 to 3 weeks to hide it from my husband who is now home 24/7 thanks to this 2020 pandemic. He swears he hasn't seen any grays in my head, but that's because Amazon has saved me a lot with having this dye on subscription for me every month. I did notice though that I have some stubborn grays that won't dye with this even when I leave it on for 45 minutes. It's definitely a new challenge, but it looks to dye most of my grays well enough. I just need to make sure I really cover every white hair with foam completely and for the full 45 minutes. So for now, this is still my go-to dye for my hair. I haven't looked "rough" yet during this pandemic, fortunately. I get my hair color done by myself. As well as my lashes (diy extensions), I also wax myself already before the pandemic, and I tried nail on glue for the very first time this year. I have been using this color since I was 16 (10 years now) and have always loved the outcome! It's not too dark like other black dyes and does not leave that awful blue tint, it's just a beautiful dark dark brown. The foam is much easier to use and apply as well. I do feel the formual has changed since I first started using though, this last time I used it I felt the smell was way stronger and more chemically. The gloves have been changed to a cheaper quality as well. The color faded a lot quicker this time as well and I wash my hair a lot less often than I used to! I was excited to receive a vibrancy locking sealant but it did not come with one!

Love that it’s a ‘neater’ method because it’s thicker. If you follow the directions it will come out as foam which doesn’t get over the place. Used Revlon for years, and from time to time some dye would splatter on the white grout of the bathroom floor, or on the vanity. (Would have plastic to cover the area but due would go where I didn’t cover) Pain to deal with discolored spots. Using the foam I was even able to dye my hair without any floor protection at an AirBnb. The negative is that it takes a lot longer to put on. For me - regular dye took like 10 minutes to apply, this takes 20 minutes. I don’t see any difference in my hair’s condition using this product versus Revlon.
