Impressed with quality for price, may actually be over built as it contains more and thicker steel than my multi ton actual vehicle jacks, in a product that is ostensibly made for lifting less than 1000 lbs. I must emphasize, it needs a 6th star for sturdiness. Fits under my work bench and has been useful for a lot of things such as removing gas tanks and holding exhaust in place, great product, just, why is it so heavy Jegs? Im 6'2 and 250lbs and moving this thing around is a significant workout. My girlfriend was trapped in the house when the delivery driver left it on the porch in front of the door.     • Worked well, use separate ratchet straps
Worked well, only complaint is that when loaded with 200+ lb transmission you cannot adjust the pivots. Used separate nylon ratchets to secure transmission to jack, chain isn't that secure. Got the job done for a zf6 on duramax.

    • Came defective
I received this product defective, the holes for the "arms" on the platform were not tapped and thus did not allow me to mount all four arms to the platform. With some ratchet straps and other support help, i completed the job of dropping/re-installing my R154 (Clutch swap) on my Supra because i was on a time crunch. Otherwise i would have returned this defect. The hardware that comes with this product is made out of pewter and insanely fragile, be gentle or youll break every screw. I made the assumtion that Jegs was a better brand than harbor freight, but they proved me wrong. i really wish i would've bought harbor freight so i at least couldve returned a defective product without being stuck with a $200 lemon. I'll never buy Jeg's again after this horrible experience. ... show more

In today's world of disposable products this stands above most and will do the job but I found the quality not as good as the ones I have used in the past. The hold down was small chain with a less than 1/4 inch hook and nut to keep the transmission tight and secure......it did neither. The scissor lift components were not the sturdiest and the connections not the tightest. Overall it will do the job of lifting a transmission but be careful! anything bigger than a passenger truck transmission I would not use it on. ... show more

Worked great for throwing my trans back in my datsun. It gave me just the leverage i needed to shove it in, and it was way safer than the two jacks with 2x4s i was using before. The only thing is i substituted the chain with a ratchet strap just to make me feel a bit safer. Just make sure you can get your car high enough to fit it under with the trans on the jack. ... show more
