Solid jack! I have been wanting one for many years, but never really had a need for one. Now that i finally have my new C8 Corvette, a jack is needed for some of the mods i will be doing! It worked great, and didnt require any assembly!

This car jack presents an alarming level of danger in its design and functionality. Despite its claim of being lightweight due to aluminum components, a significant portion is, misleadingly, constructed from steel. This deceptive design not only compromises safety but also gives a false impression of its actual weight. VERY HEAVY! The structural issues become apparent in its construction, which prioritizes aesthetics over functionality and robust support. The slender and comparatively smaller metal posts offer inadequate support, leading to a horrifying scenario where the jack tilts forward, causing the lifted car to shift and potentially endangering the user. The first critical problem arose when attempting to lift a GS350, only to find that it stopped halfway. Investigation revealed unlike other hacks this has a missing oil screw, replaced with a precarious rubber plug that you push in and out. This design flaw introduces a serious safety hazard, particularly in colder climates, where the rubber may become brittle and crack, leading to oil leakage while the car is elevated causing harm to the user. The inherent risk of the jack lifting unevenly, demonstrated by the unsettling experience of the front tire lifting while the back wheels also ascended, further solidifies its status as an unsafe and unreliable car jack. Considering these perilous shortcomings, I strongly advise against using or keeping this jack due to its hazardous design and potential life-threatening consequences. In conclusion, STAY AWAY!!!

I'm digging the jack and its working fine lifting up a 71 Chevelle Wagon while doing a bunch of engine work. It's done everything I've asked of it and has earned my trust.

Edit: My original review was 5 stars, but that was before I used this jack for a full day, now I'm lowering it to 2 stars and here's why: As nother reviewer noted, it is true that the bar that opens and closes the valve to jack up or release the hydraulic fluid slips very easily, you can twist the bar several times without opening or closing the valve, and it's just that the end of the bar is slipping on the head of the nut of the valve. I don't know if this is dangerous or not, but inconvenient is, and a lot!. I'm not a mechanic, but I like to do work on my own cars, and for that, I need some tools that only mechanics have. A jack like this is one example. The first thing I will note is that I'm glad I spent a few more bucks and went with the aluminum version, because if this one is heavy as hell, I don't want to imagine how the steel version is. But this also gives me the peace of mind, that the jack will be up to any task I can possibly put it up to in my garage. I do recommend it, not a single drop of oil was present on the bottom of the case I received it in, and that means that at least mine doesn't have any leaks. I can't speak for longevity, because I've only used it once, and owned for 2 days, but I can foresee that if the world doesn't end before, my unborn grandson will be able to use this to jack up his flying car more than half a century from now.
