People I have been searching for a safe jack lift for my rider mower, this jack lift from the side so you never have to go under it, sitting down to clean the under carriage & change the blades,The most important thing I want to get across is the two safety mechanism that is in place by the manufacture, when the jack is lift all the way up it locks into the fame and will not unlock until you release the safety silver bar disengaging the lock, from the frame. Second safety feature is after the mower is raised to your desire height a steel bar with adjusting levels holes that is held by a locking pin is placed under the lifting bar and frame to secure the mower not coming down.. ever after shaking the mower , the mower will not move or slide an inch down until you turn the knob counter clock wise then the mower decends slowly downward, it feels safe to work under the mower with your body outside while it is on it side instead of getting under the mower which is not safe a must for the serious and safe worker The strap provided for locking the wheel in place could be a better one .. so I replaced it with a stronger and wider one.. This jack lift is build solid and strong, the delivery box was very beaten up so inspect your item carefully... read the manual

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Came with. The wheels off only had to install that put it right to work. Lifted up my 2500 diesel to swap over tires.. My tractors , and ATV's with no issues. No issue either with my wife's cross track.

This is probably the sturdiest nicest Jack I have ever used. First of all, its 3 tons. The dual piston hydraulics are extremely tight and smooth. The 4 wheels give it an excellent solid and sturdy foundation. The bar is solid and heavy duty. The lift/clearance is probably the highest I have experienced in any Jack. Lastly, the rubber matted cylindrical adapter puck is a very nice touch to give it an extra 7" of clearance. It allowed me to jack up the entire side of my vehicle by placing it in the middle of my rock sliders and thus flip my front and back tires in one fell swoop. I love this Jack!

I really like this mower jack/lift. This is not to say it's perfect, but it does do exactly what it is advertised to do. Let me start off with its packaging. In a word, horrendous. The box is oddly shaped and by the time it reached me it was pretty much destroyed. The lift stayed inside by what must have been an entire roll of packing tape adding by the shipping service. So damaged was the carton that there were several places on the jack that suffered superficial damage. In the end, the jack needs to be better packaged. The jack doesn't look nearly as finished in the hand as it does in the product video. In fact, it's pretty rough looking; not what I would have hoped for in a nearly $300 item. Some of the castings weren't very well finished. Fortunately, though, the lack of spit and polish didn't affect the jack's operation. Finally, the jack is much heavier than the product video makes it look. Be careful moving it if you're not a body builder as it's heavy and awkward. But once on the ground it does roll fairly easily. That's the extent of the negatives. Let's move on to what's good. First off, this really does lift a hefty load. I have a fairly large 42" lawn tractor (I don't know the weight) and it lifted it without issue. Lifting and lowering is a breeze. The safety bar does get in the way a bit making under deck access a bit cumbersome. I know why CAT added it, but frankly it didn't appear necessary (as I left the mower tilted for an extended period of time to see if the jack would lose its hydraulic hold; it didn't). One should remember to use a strap of some kind to hold the lifted wheel down; at height there's a very real possibility of causing the tractor to flip. I appreciate CAT supplying the strap, but I don't think it worked as well as other ones I already had. I like it quite a bit more than the front lift jacks. Yes, you have to lift twice (once to get one side's blade, a second time to get to the other side), but for me the access and convenience outweighed any advantages the front-style jacks have. I also really like the ability to store it mounted to a wall. A very nice touch and the jack's (essentially) lay-flat profile means it doesn't take up much room (another advantage over the front lift types, to my mind). At this point, I see it as a solid "4+ star" item that could be a "5-star" item if CAT cleaned up a few things (shipping package, finish, strap). 4 stars. Really, really worth consideration. P.S. One thing the manual doesn't tell you (but I should have figured out) is that if your gas tank is a side fill or has a venting-style gas tank cap when you lift the side opposite the gas tank you'll spill some gas. I didn't pay attention and leaked a bit before getting it under control. Not CAT's fault and this "oops" on my part played no role in my "4 star" decision.
