This is a carbon filter replacement for the iSpring Whole home filter system. I have had this installed at my home for about 4 years now and replace these filters yearly (I have city water). Overall I have been very happy with the quality of these filters. The entire home tastes chlorine free and I'm sure the overall quality of the water is improved but I've never had the water professionally tested. You can tell these are very high quality. Unscrewing the heavy canisters to replace the filter can be a little tough and require some strength. I would recommend lubricating the rubber seals with a food grade lubricant and not screwing them back on too tight. Also releasing the water pressure with the red buttons on the top is required. ... show more

    • Works on chlorine but not long lasting

When I installed this filter to reduce chlorine level of .4 ppb, it worked great. Free chlorine went to undetectable levels. We use about 200 gallons per day. After two months, chlorine was at .1 to .2 ppm level. I could have got a bad filter. Customer service was great and sent a replacement filter. I will report back later. ... show more

Excellent product. Easy to install, so as long as you preplan the pipe route. This has improved the water quality and customer service is quick to respond if I have a question that needs to be resolved, specifically JOHN. I added an additional bone char filter to eliminate fluoride for the entire house and have two come to support this brand and have recently bout two shower head mineral filters and a reverse osmosis under the sink filter. Since having this product I only had one defect which would include a broken carbon filter which was most likely broken by the delivery driver but a quick email and a replacement was sent without any hassle. ... show more

have a 60 foot deep living well that I was going through filters like crazy with the whole house filter from Culligan. The well has a bunch of sediment so I was not surprised that it clogged a smaller single stage filter. The smaller filter would only get the sediment but the water would come out of the faucet with a brown tint and have a slight smell to it. I purchased the ISpring WGB32BM as well as an ISpring WSP-200SL Sediment Filter and with both of these combined the water to my cabin faucet was crystal clear, had zero sediment and had zero smell. Just to compare I set up an unopened purchased bottle of water next to a bottle of the water out of my faucet and the purchased bottle of water had visible sediment in the bottom of the bottle and the faucet water had no visible sediment at all. Fast forward two years after being installed (which was very simple) and I was changing out a well pump and had to change the location of the filtration system. I damaged the heads of the filtration system so I called ISpring and talked to Nick about purchasing the parts that I damaged. Nick was awesome and is shipping me a new one even though it was due to my fault. That is what you call great customer support. ... show more

    • Saves Water Softener!

I have some clear water / soluble iron in my water, along with - I'm not really sure what, but my water softener wasn't really able to soften the water (which is 70 before the softener). With this filter, the soluble iron comes out of the water, which isn't an issue at all in my case since I use a 0.5 micron carbon filter after this one, but it is a consideration. With this filter installed, my water softener now does a great job of softening. Softeners are supposed to be able to handle iron at the level mine measures (.3ppm, just enough to stain everything), but somehow mine clogs up and fails to soften without this filter - I used to use a basic sediment filter in front of the carbon filter and the softener wasn't working, but now it works like a champ! ... show more
