This (finally!) got the job done
Style: 25-pc multi-spline extractor set
Working to replace the rear shocks on my 2003 Honda Element, and the bolts were rusted solid to both the inside of the bushing and the welded nut on the trailing arm. I had to sawzall through them, which left me with a piece of bolt that was firmly stuck in the trailing arm nut. I drilled (awkward location), and used two or three other bolt extractors but couldn’t get the vice grips to hold them strongly enough. I wrestled with drilling and extraction attempts for ~2 hours. Finally, broke down and bought this set to use with a box wrench. After a couple of mins with the propane torch, and on the first try, the bolt turned and I could finally get it out. Success, and very great relief. Despite other reviews, the smaller bit was strong enough to work - I just took my time and lots of heat. So glad I bought this, my car is back on the road now and I’m a happy weekend mechanic with this set.

The best
Style: 25-pc multi-spline extractor set
I was trying to take some motorcycle rearsets apart, basically a zinc coated steel bolt out of aluminum that was secured with red thread locker. I stripped the hex, drilled and tried to use a conventional thread extractor, nope, nothing. I was about to head out for errands when the Amazon driver delivered the package. I left the car running, opened the package, picked a random extractor that was close and my trusty 1/2” socket wrench with an adaptor… out it came. Total time from Amazon deliver to bolt removal, 2 minutes. Buy this brand.

Works as Described - Consider Buying Proactively
Style: 25-pc multi-spline extractor set
I was attempting to perform a CVT fluid replacement on a 2016 Subaru Impreza. Embarrassingly, I ended up purchasing this set after I stripped the T8 hex socket of the fill/check plug. I initially tried a smaller size within the set which appeared to be going well. I seated the bit into the plug with a few taps from a ball peen hammer and carefully dug the bit in flush with a ratchet; slow and steady. However, the bit was approaching the bottom of its threads without the plug relenting so I switched to the next bit size. This larger size eventually did it. I'm unsure if the initial bit used 'primed' the plug so be aware of this. A few important things to note: * I did not drill into the center of the plug as suggested * Minimal rust penetrant was used * Absolutely no heat was applied * This was performed with temperatures at ~18F; dead of winter in the northeast US in an unheated garage * The bit that loosened the plug was not biting squarely into said plug (user error - minimal working room) * The plug was heavily rusted and last loosened by myself ~2.5 years ago and torqued to factory spec at 39 ft-lbs In spite of all the above, this set did the trick and allowed me to change out that infamous CVT fluid. I can say that I'm extremely satisfied with this product. Hopefully I won't need it in the future but I'm extremely happy to know that it's available for other plugs if needed. If you can spare the extra money, I would suggest purchasing it proactively so it's already on hand. With 25 pieces in 1/32" increments (starting at 5/32"), this kit should satisfy most use cases and appears to be undamaged after use. It appears as though it will stand up to the test of time. Negatives (one star removed): * The etching on a few of the bits was marred on delivery making their size borderline illegible * The case was partially opened upon delivery Positives: * Works as advertised under non-ideal conditions * Comes with a fairly rugged carrying case which locks closed and with minimal movement of the bits inside so they stay organized during transport * Should satisfy most, if not all use cases for the average car owner given sizes discussed above Be aware that as pictured, they are not socketed. They are of various sizes as well so you will need various wrenches or sockets to accommodate all bits in the set. Good luck with your extraction! Patience is a virtue!

the best ez outs you can get
Style: 25-pc multi-spline extractor set
Spendy, but they don't expand the busted stud in the hole, and that right there is worth my money. I've gone thru 3 sets like this, and they all were far superior to the traditional ez outs..
