    • This system works wonders.
I live in the countryside so I have well water. The Iron in the water was so bad (120 ppm) that we had two different water treatment systems attached to the water system. At some point one or both of them quit working after years of use, so the water was horrible. After looking at many system, including the expensive ones and reading many reviews of so many different products I decided to go with this one. This system is amazing. It was fairly easy to set up but would have been easier with better directions but I found a website which offered clearer directions so there was no problems with installation. So, like I said I did a lot of searching to find this system, and while I did I seen a lot of things about Sediment Whole House Water Filter as they are supposed to remove sediment also. So I spent a little extra to buy the filter housing and a box of 1 micron filters (50) for a reasonable price here on amazon and installed them at the same time. So now for the numbers: my untreated water is about 120 PPM , with my old systems it was still about 60 PPM, and now with this system I tested my water beside a bottle of bottled water and the reading was the same for both -- 0 PPM. It may not be necessary to have the Sediment Whole House Water Filter but after seeing what it is taking out of the water on its own I think in my case it is beneficial in keeping all of that out of the Iron pro. ... show more

Purchased our home in the country in 2015, which is on a well. Growing up in a home with well water I was used to some hardness, but this water was horrible. Came out of the faucet cloudy, smelled like rotten eggs and tasted terrible. Red stains on everything and dishes and laundry looked terrible. Most articles I read said a water softener would not remove iron, and that the smell was because of the hot water tank. Finally I gave up and took a chance on this unit. It arrived in two pakages, the tank filled with resin is heavy. UPS slid it off the truck and left it sitting in the drive, I rolled it in with my dolly. Really installation took no time. I took the piece off of the valve to Lowes and got fittings to adapt from their 1 1/4 to 3/4, 4 shark bite fittings and some pex tubing. Cut the water line into the house, connect it to the input on the softener, connect the output back to the line, not really rocket science. Followed the instructions for programing it and went to bed. We noticed major improvement the very next day. Water from the faucet is crystal clear with no smell. We actually drink it now without having to filter it. Dishes come out of the dishwasher sparkling clean and laundry looks 100% better. We cleaned the sinks and showers, and had to use pumice stones to get all the rust stains out of the toilets. Three weeks now and not a single red stain. We bought a 68000 grain unit, which is overkill for a family of 2, but we wanted the capacity to remove iron. We have it set to regenerate once a week as they reccommend for well water with iron. If we regenerated off of water usage it would only do it about once a month. I would tell anyone looking for a water softener to buy this one. My wife said it’s the best gift I ever gave her, which left me wondering is it that good or have I just been giving crummy gifts? ... show more

    • Easily Assembled and Works GREAT!
I already have a Fleck tank system bought from another source in my primary home from a seller that also sells on Amazon (not the one that sells this system). I love that system and my other house has been in need of a system due to the really old and insufficient one that the previous owner had installed (an 18K). I bought the 64K Fleck 5600. The tank (HEAVY) was already loaded with resin. It took 2 people to handle it safely. The second box had the brine tank, Fleck, and accessories. Wash out tubes for brine flush and overflow on brine tank were needed (bought at b&m store) along with new flexible hoses. I did not want to resolder a new pipe right away. There were 2 sets of directions inside which slightly caused me confusion. I just referred to one then the other to make sure I was installing it correctly. Of course, the Fleck settings needed very little tweaking - the hardness setting needed computing, but I found that on our city's water website. I did an auto-flush and the water was ready to be used! The water tastes great and is much clearer. The iron smell dissipated nicely. Another water softener ready to go! ... show more

    • Does filter water beyond expectations
We have well which produced very hard water and extremely high on iron. You could scrub the toilet with harsh chemicals and few days later it turned brown. Shower walls were all brown and extremely hard to clean. Water always smelled like sulphuric and all toilet tanks were nasty with iron. Electric water heater was popping every time it came on. We had old water softener which came with the house but was bypassed and not used for many years. Tried to revive it with no luck. This water softener (5600) met and exceeded all expectations. We bought it larger than needed because of high levels of iron. It is just me and my wife so if we would let it regenerate on as needed basis we would probably get away with one regeneration a month. I set it to automatically regenerate weekly. Installation was a breeze, just follow the instructions. I added some pex pipes to reroute it to different corner of laundry room. I also installed mesh flushable filter for larger particles and planning to add post softener charcoal filter. It is a great system which dramatically changed quality of water. With our usage it takes about 1.5 bags of salt a month, maybe less. I would recommend it to anyone who has hard and high iron water. ... show more
